Holt had been at the party a while. He had been hungry and showed up on time to snag a proper plate of a variety of foods before the picky, snacking crowds demolished the food offerings. He had long since finished and was hanging around the edge of the party, against the wall. The party was flashier, perhaps a bit too literally, than the ones they had in Dragon Ridge, but he enjoyed a good party all the same.
He saw Mau out in the center of the dance floor by herself. Shame that... but the dance was already started and she seemed just fine by herself. Perhaps she didn't want a dance partner at all...
She was happy to dance with you last time, Korith mentioned from outside. He was lounging by the far edge of the lake where it was quieter. Sometimes Holt swore his dragon was part DarkBlue.
She could have changed her mind.
Why would she do that?
Because she's a girl...I don't know. Holt felt a smug wave of emotion from his dragon. Sure they'd just be dancing, but he didn't want to do anything that might hurt Korith.
You know, the rules are about Flight happenings, or whatever the Weyrling Master said it was called. You just intend to dance with her, not Chase her.
Holt was turning a nice color thanks to his dragon's bluntness when he spotted K'tar. Where did Korith get off knowing all of these things? He should know, but...oh... For lack of a better swear word he stopped short his thoughts and crossed his arms and tried not to look so flustered. Dragons.
So it was with some, albeit friendly, frustration that Holt shouted an elegant reply of "AAAAG!" when K'tar asked him about Mau. He frowned and crossed his arms tighter. He knew K'tar would expect at least a real word or two in reply, so he obliged: "I don't know."
