“Got it.” D’ziel smiled again before adding, “Yeah seems best.” He chuckled a little bit more before turning to K’tar. “I am not planning on diving head first into anything I don’t know. I’ll have by hands full just getting settled. Besides, I don’t think I’ll ever end up meeting the Lord Holder face to face.” He was fairly confident on that point. He got up after Holt did, feeling a fair bit less nervous. Trust his friends to make everything right again.
“Well, if that’s the case. I’ll see ya soon enough. Both of you.” He wasn’t sure what a good goodbye would be. Handshake, a serious but firm farewell? No, he would see them soon enough. So he just smiled and waved adding, “See ya.” Soon enough they’d get together and cause some trouble. For now he was starting a new adventure in a foreign land. Or something like that. Far away was only eight seconds. Why did even eight seconds seem like a lot?
Holt smiled and gave his head half each of a tilt and a nod. He anticipated K'tar covering the more substantial farewells. They would all see each other soon. K'tar would see to that. He was sure of it.

K’tar grinned. “See ya, and don’t forget to write!” He waved, standing up as he did so. Altahyr promptly took advantage of his human’s distraction by eating the fried meat that remained on the closest plate.
K’tar didn’t notice until D’ziel was out of sight, then he just shook his head and quietly laughed. After all, he was the one who’d tried to teach the canine to snitch pies, it probably served him right to lose his meat strips.
