Dinnertime
Reaction to this thread
It had been a surreal day for some. War declared. The opinions on this had been all over the place. Gossip had spread for those as they worked, went about their normal schedule. As it moved to dinner, there was finally a time to sit, digest, and then let everyone know exactly how you felt.
As the dinner hour began, people started to trickle in, searching for spaces. There were more low conversations, and a few riders got stuck in line for their meals chatting with the cooks. Though Idoranya was there to move things along. It was still dinner hour and food still had to go out. Woe to the cook who talked too long. It could be felt all over the hall though. It was a slightly different day.
R’le sat in a corner, chewing on his meal, the Jr Weyrleader in something of a mood. Hard to tell if it was a positive or negative, or just more neutral than usual. He was feeding his Flame firelizard, the creature mostly immune to the mood surrounding him. Firelizards still had to eat, and Pern continued to spin.
Kashpa sat at a table, getting a quick bite before meeting her student for speech lessons. Of course, she was looking around for someone to talk to in the meantime. She’d spent turns looking for the latest gossip, her instincts were to talk with some people to figure out what all was thought about this.
OF course, some people were in a mood. Cyanee was looking intently at the klah mug in her hands, even though she hated the stuff. She was the sort that didn’t like fighting, so what was she going to do now? A hand found her hair and she looked up, spying her brother looking serious. She cheered up somewhat as he sat down, and began to discuss something with her that cheered her up a fair bit. Not entirely though.
It was a large hall, lots of hushed voices, and a few loud ones. A lot of people, of course, meant a lot of opinions.
