Eira slipped on the riding jacket over her light clothes. She felt cold and knew it would only get colder in such light dress when she went outside. Their ride was a helpful Moonlight who had offered to give them a lift between to Rainbow Mists Aerie. Wrapping her arms around her, Eira moved towards the exit. Immediately she felt the biting cold. It was nearing the warmer time of the Turn in the northern hemisphere, but that didn't mean Ice Stone ever really got warm. She hurried to Wivish and pushed up against her LifeWing's side.
Help me with this, Eira asked. She didn't need to, Wivish knew well enough how to get into the straps though the two of them didn't tend to go between so much in the nicer weather. But in the northern storms, babies were want to demand their arrival times be as inconvenient as possible. That was the job, though. At least this visit was planned.
There we go! Wivish chirped, lifting a wing to inspect the harness. Perfect. Now get on before you freeze.
Eira winced as the snort of amusement sent warm air rushing through her stone-cold nose. Yes, Wivish.
They signalled the Dragon Rider they were ready to go and not soon enough they were off and away to Rainbow Mists.
----
It had taken Eira no time at all to shed her heavy riding jacket as Wivish approached the ground. It was terribly hot, and humid too. How did people live like this? Eira frowned as she slid off Wivish's back and stuffed the jacket half into her bag.
I dunno, Eira. This weather's nice too! Wivish insisted. Arctic terns were versatile in their tolerated climates.
Sure it is, Wivish, Eira snarked, heading into the Aerie. The sooner Yuki got here, had her check up, was fine with no interesting findings whatever, the sooner Eira could get out of this suffocating nightmare place.
