T'ren
3079.01.01 | Sunvoiath's Weyr & Outdoor Market | Early to Late Morning
Even after several turns spent on the Southern Continent, Rekkora wasn't used to turnover day dawning hot and muggy rather than crisp and clear-skied as it did in the North. She was, however, getting used to waking up to a particularly grumpy dragonrider. No matter how early she woke, though, he always seemed to be awake before her. It was a source of mild annoyance as she would like to, just once, wake before him and watch him wake up as he did with her every morning. The annoyance never lingered though, quickly washes away by contentment and affection as she yawned and snuggled closer to her dragonman. The festivities at the Weyr had gone late into the night but the pair hadn't been inclined to stick it out to the end. Rekkora, despite being a social creature and more than content to mingle with the crowd, knew that her mate was not and had retired early declaring for all to hear that she was exhausted. Let the merrymakers think what they liked, but did not regret leaving the party early to spend the rest of the night in the company of her man.
Smiling, her eyes bright with mirth, Rekkora reached up to run her fingers through the longer bits of S'rico's hair, making it stand on end and giggling sleepily before a yawn cut the sound short. "Happy turnover, Grumblebum." Her smile became slightly cheeky as she used one of her particularly favorite pet names for her mate. She didn't use it in public because it wasn't particularly dignified, but they were in the safety of their weyr so all bets were off. With another yawn she rolled onto her back and stretched as far as she could, toes pointed and arms stretched above her head. She held the stretch until her calf muscles threatened to cramp then went limp, sinking into the furs with a content sigh.
"We should do something today. Just the two of us. No duties, no meetings, no dragons. Just us." She turned her head, her expression earnest and determined. So much of her time since she'd been able to stand had been spent worrying about impressing and since she'd impressed all she'd done was worry about how people viewed her or her duties or if she actually was destined to be like the first abyss rider and bring about chaos. Even if it was for a day, she wanted to pretend that she was a normal girl in love with a normal boy and do something fun for Turnover Day. She'd never trade Sunvoiath for anything in the world, but just for a day she wouldn't mind people not even looking twice at her. It was a strange thought to have for someone who was so particular about her appearance and planned every detail to draw and capture the attention of those around her.
