Purple Sunlance flit (m) Spot. Spot is round ball with spots of Sunlance on his rump like freckles. He is a protective and loyal to his person and very fond of food as found by his slight tummy and constant begging of food. But he rewards his person with little gifts that show his love and appreciation - these gifts tend to be feathers, stones, shells, flowers, leaves and anything pretty he might find that might appeal to her and make her smile. He also likes to sing in a sweet voice to keep her company and make her smile.

Appearance: She stands at 6'0 even and is tall for a woman with the family broad shouldered dragonrider frame. But unlike her brothers she does have more elegant, statuesque lines with good size breasts and gently curving hips with the long, shapely legs, she is a leg girl all right.She is good looking and handsome instead of classically pretty or and will look younger then her years all through her life. She has the family tight cork screw black curls and some strong African blood making the kink and the inky black more so but just enough "Other" that it is curl and not frizz. Same bright engaging smile, same dark eyes, lighter dark skin then her brothers and African features, but hers are softer, rounder more feminine and a mirror image of her twin sister. She has a very bad long term memory and some short term memory thanks to her bout with Firehead as a child.
She is very common sense about her clothing style. Like her brother she prefers darker colours - black, browns, navy, dark green "army" colours and sober, military like uniforms - will usually be found in leathers or "work" clothes when dirty or work tasks are in front of her. But she does have her feminine side and cleans up nicely when needed and will enjoy it too. She often wears feathers, leaves and shells on her persona as they are gifts from her flit and has a few bite scars as her dragon had a habit of nipping her as a baby to show affection. As an adult this nipping or mouthing as moved to her clothes- so her clothes are a little nibbled on.
Personality: Despite her memory issues and struggle to read - she has dyslexia - she is clever, shrewd and shares the family honesty. She can be blunt, no nonsense and confident and does find her limitations frustrating at times and can snap when stressed or angry. But she has a short temper that is over quickly, people easily forgiven and no grudges kept. Her nature is friendly, charming and shares the family loyalty and integrity.
She identifies as straight and likes men with a flirtatious side at times and has a healthy interest in and enjoyment in sex but she prefers a long term partner if she can find one and hasn't managed to find that special someone yet. She has a close bond to her siblings and especially her twin sister naturally. She has a motherly side to her as well as she likes to take care of people and those close to her.
History: Kran is part of a set of twins and has 2 younger brothers who are also twins and dragonriders like her. Her twin sister is a Lifewing Partner and Healer. She comes from a unique family line in Ista and can trace their genealogy back a few generations of riders. Their family has produced many Istan dragon riders on her father's side, with 1 or 2 Weyrleaders and Weyrwomen and her mother's side has had healers and Lifewing partners going back a few generations too. Harpering, Healing and Serving Pern are strong characteristics, traits and history coming from both sides of the family. Both parents are sadly deceased but were posted to most Weyrs across Pern at one time or another, their family in tow. Once such occasion was in Southern Weyr where all the family children contracted Firehead when she was 14, thanks to the skill of their mother and her partner all survived but all have side effects only for the parents to then catch it and die, leaving their kids alone. Kran who was especially close to her mother felt her loss and will always feel it through her days.
Having already had dyslexia and memory problems thanks to Firehead she found Harper lessons hard going and frequently was known to loose her temper and stalk out - for her younger brother to track her down and help her out. As said she is not dumb or stupid - but struggles and decides to pursue more practical skills and so made herself useful around the Healers and Weyr Creche where she was needed. Like her brother all she has wanted is to be a Dragonrider so for her it has always been a matter of waiting for her partner to hatch. In despair she was left Standing for turns and to try and help bolster her confidence collected all her marks to buy a flit egg which hatched to give her Spots. Hearing of a clutch hardening on Ice sands they have decided to try there and lucky she Impressed her Gypserith.

Kran had entered the Cavern where the Hatching was taking place along with her brothers and other Candidates. She was an old hat at attending Hatchings now as it felt like she had been doing it all her life and so far doing the humiliating walk of shame afterwards without a partner. But she refused to look at her past disappointments and lined up with the rest, bowed to the Ice Queen on guard and looked around curiously. She nodded good luck to her brothers back over with the boys and did the same to the 1 or 2 girls she vaguely recognsied from her few days here at the Weyr. Then she focused on the real reason she was here. The rocking eggs and Hatching babies. She straightened her shoulders and fingered the feathers and leaves in her hair from her tall height for luck smiling as the Purple Sunlance flit on her shoulder hummed a sweet tune in her ear to keep her company and her spirits up. She watched confidence boosted as the babies began to appear and pair up with their chosen new partners. It was a cute Citrine that had her attention though as she found her antics amusing. The baby didn't seem to be taking her arrival on Pern with any seriousness at all and took the time to play.
The Brick, however, didn’t go to the candidates, not right away. She moved to one of the other eggs that was starting to show a web of cracks and waited. It was smaller, but not the smallest of the eggs. Under the new scrutiny it wiggled more The Citrine continued on, stopping at Lena for a moment, before bouncing to Sharikar and taking a look. Then she rolled around on her back. It was hard to tell what the Citrine was thinking here.
Spots's hum increased to crooning welcoming song as the Citrine came close to her rolling over onto her back in a canine baby like way. The little girl dragon cocked her head from her position lying on her back and seemed to try return Spot's greeting. Kran couldn't help but chuckle as she crouched down reaching towards the baby to help her too her feet and got nipped for her trouble.
.The Citrine was making noise that might have been a song if it wasn’t positively out of tune, directed at one of the other candidates. After a moment, satisfied, she went ahead and bit the same candidate, giving them a lick before her eyes going rainbow. It was... certainly different, but the pair went to get some food same as everyone else. And probably a bandage for the new rider.
}:Why are laughing at me? Don't laugh;{ The sweet chirpy voice entered Kran's head with a tinge of exasperation as the sharp baby teeth nipped her hand.
"I am sorry. But your singing needs a bit of work as do your manners." Kran replied indicating her bleeding hand as she ripped off part of her Candidate tunic with her free hand to wrap around it.
]:You will teach me? Yes! I can't wait. I am your Gypserith.;{ The little Citrine replied as she pulled her now rainbow shaded eyes away from her new Chosen to lick and nuzzle at the hand she bit apology in her body language.
"That can be arranged. But food first hmm?" The new weyrling replied as Spots crept down Kran's shoulder to sniff and greet the baby dragon, curious and still crooning his welcome song. He was delighted to make a new friend and one who would help keep his mistress entertained.
Kran led her now creeling for food baby partner off to get some food and her new life as a Weyrling as one of the healers came towards her with some first aid for her hand.
