Almost the end of June already! How time does fly.

Speaking of flying!-
Rainbow Mists needs a showy festival so Archith's suitors can strut their stuff ahead of time. RMW will be hosting a Weyr Games and will even be inviting some representatives from other friendly Weyrs (ISW, SMW, and Fort if you like). All dragons are welcome to participate, not just the big boys. There will be races for speed and agility in several size classes and even a game of Thread Ball (goals, dragons, large balls and falling fake "thread" that you must not be struck by)!
It'll be an event to remember and a grand spectacle to watch. Plus you might get rich if you bet the games right.
The Weyr Games will kick off the First of July and continue for a week or so depending on how busy we all are for the holidays.
Secondly, we don't want to forget about our chars on foot and even in the Holds. While a big turnout is expected for the Games there will be other sorts of merriment throughout the Weyr. Feel free to have a nice time and make sure you stay out of trouble.

In addition, since we're moving out of the rainy season into the dryer winter, some of the leaks in the Candidate barracks and a few rooms in the Weyrling barracks are going to be repaired. This means that Candidates will be in much closer quarters. Many of the rooms need fixing. Though they can't repair them all at the same time, with knowledge that Archith will Fly soon, the influx of Candidates may make some rooms quite crowded. Up to four Candidates may be expected to share a room at this time. Weyrlings should suffer minimal additional difficulties at the moment. Some water damage was done to personal items and some dressers.

-Regarding Flights and Sexuality and even Dragon Impressions-
While Rainbow Mists Weyr is open to all ages we are an adult community that has respect and maturity regarding adult issues such as sexuality. The Pern environment is built to allow varying types of sexuality and this ability to have characters of different orientations is an aspect of many role plays. That being said, though we have had some limitations on this topic in the past, we will allow characters of three basic types into the role play: Homosexual (attracted to people of the same sex), Bisexual (attracted to people of both sexes), and Heterosexual (attracted to people of the opposite sex). While society continues to understand the nature of human relations and I acknowledge that the three terms above are not an exhaustive list, for simplicity's sake and record keeping, it's possible to categorize a character as one of the three. They are attracted to women, men, or both genders as potential partners.
This has the following impact on some of our guidelines:
-Flight hosts still select the victor
-Romance is still allowed but it is still expected to be kept at or below a PG level (think Marley and Me, for example). Additionally, relationship writing is expected to remain tasteful.
-All Weyr personnel are still expected to treat each other with esteem and respect
Regarding dragon Impressions I know that there are not too many colors at the moment that have been observed as Impressing to either gender or the opposite gender. Because of this some of the colors may be expanded to allow more options.
Queens will still only Impress females and Kings to males. Browns to boys and Citrines to girls and so on. There is some challenge in setting limits. The limits are not based on any science or pseudo-science that may be familiar to the Pern fandom.
