Lan chuckled quietly with the voraciousness that Ethilask was displaying, which was so very unlike the first impression of her that he had gotten. The little gray and black head was pointed nose first into the slurry, something that made her look either very silly or extremely vicious, he hadn’t decided yet. He looked around to see what the other folks had gotten up to, and see what else had come to pass while he was distracted. There was a purple and black Wher, currently being fed by one of the girls, who was also looking pretty hungry. Young dragon kin seemed hard wired that way. He looked back to where the Citrine had run off to and stared blankly at the scene unfolding before him. He didn’t quite think on his reaction, which was how it got by his usual issue of there being women present.
“Where are you going? She picked you!” He’d seen the Citrine gum enough things to realize that was exactly what she was, even if he sometimes got confused with if the coloring was Sunlance or not. Lan couldn’t conceive of rejecting a Wher, after all in his eyes that was just part of the job. Handle a Wher, keep them well, train them, guard the Weyr, it was all part and parcel of why he had come here. The fact that someone would come in here and not intend for that to occur was rather inconceivable. Lan watched for only a moment more, since he was half assaulted by Ethilask. She was wondering why on Pern he hadn’t been paying attention to her. She was lovely and he should pay attention while feeding her. She needed to reach the bottom of the bowl and it was sneaking out of her grasp! Lan lowered the bowl again, and she seemed pleased with him again, rumbling as she ate. Not quite capable of making her signature sound, but certainly having her best go at it.
