Fighting the sleep that threatened to claim him, he heard another question being asked. His name? What was his name? A moment of confusion passed and his whispered voice strained to be heard.
"Sanderon."
Next thing he knew was a blurry figured and a four-legged creature enter the infirmary. A canine, yes. He recognized the blurry figures. The girl...in the jungle. He turned his bandaged head and tried to meet her eyes but still could not focus properly. Maybe with some rest his vision would be better. He watched her form sliding along the shadows of the wall and then come towards him. He was surprisingly calm towards her. He felt that she was dangerous but not to him. As she came near, her face came into clearer focus. The soft touch upon his brow as she drew a circle there surprised him. His mother used to do that when he was younger. He kept his eyes upon her, unwilling to look away as the healers continued their work on his tortured flesh.
One of the healers, along with the lifewing that had sung him into stability, left then almost as abrubptly as they had come. He gave them a glance as they disappeared. Then his gaze traveled down to his chest. He still wore his shirt. Did the healers know? Of course they had to know. He felt a makeshift field-wrapping over his ribs even now as the thought crossed his mind. It must have been done in the jungle. But that person was not here, were they?
"Ribs...busted." He managed, not knowing or caring who might be the one that heard him, just so long as someone did. He did not realize that they probably already knew and were caring for his bleeding injury first.
At this point in his intense pain, he wanted to have it all over and done with. He wanted to curl up and just die. He was not as freaked out as he had been though. The lifewing's song and this familiar figure at his head had calmed him; Not completely but more than he had been. That was good, for his muscles were not as tight and that alone alleviated some of the pain.
He looked down at the healers around him again and wondered why they did not leave too. The lifewing pair left, they could too, right? Groaning lightly, he shut his eyes tight and willed everyone and everything to just disappear.
