Appearance: L'ban is around average in height, standing at about five feet ten inches tall. His weight is about average as well, though he may sometimes be a slight bit overweight due to lack of exercise. He is pale due to lack of sunlight. His height is mostly due to long legs, though his torso isn't what one could call short. His arms are a good length for his height, but look quite thin. His hair is a light blonde in color. His eyes, in contrast, are a dark green.
L'ban likes to wear a mixture of light and dark colors. Some days his shirt will be dark and his pants light, while other days it is the complete opposite. His boots, though, are always dark.
Personality: L'ban is generally a shy person, except for when he has something he believes is important to say to someone. Such as someone doing something incorrectly or if he sees someone doing something he knows to be wrong, he will say so. He's not much for starting conversation. Though he won't turn and run if someone starts a conversation with him. He also is not much of a morning person. It takes someone with great patience to get him to do much more than the essentials of life in the morning. L'ban is not as bad in the afternoons. He's slightly more willing to start conversation, though he still tries to avoid doing so. No matter what time of day it is, L'ban always seems distracted. He tries to focus when something important is going on, but with little success. Sometimes his focus holds, while most of the time his focus continues on to other less important things such as the day being gloomy or bright.
History: L'ban was born into a family of healers in Mellisong Hold as Loban Kib. He was never the most outspoken of children. In fact, the only times he spoke without being asked a question was when he needed something important. When his outspoken sister Brinda was born, this only seemed to increase. For the first few turns after Brinda was born, L'ban's parents were kept busy with his sister's near constant cries for attention and keeping the holdfolk healthy. Though they never once forgot about L'ban. His parents always found time during the day to check on him to make sure that he was okay and getting the right amount of sleep, exercise and food. L'ban usually nodded to his parents when they came to check up on him, though sometimes he did tell them that he was fine. Though he was soft-spoken, L'ban was apprenticed as a healer when he was 12 turns old.
It was when L'ban was around 13-14 turns old when he was Searched as a dragon candidate for Ice Stone Weyr. He was very timid, and barely went out of his room except to eat and do other necessities while he was a candidate. The temperature was to cold for him at Ice Stone Weyr, he began to wish in the first few days that he hadn't told the dragon rider who'd Searched him to take him directly to Ice Stone Weyr. He was not quite comfortable with his new surroundings, and at first he was hoping that he would not Impress so that he would have to be brought back to his home. He had been left Standing at the last couple of Hatchings that he went to before finally Impressing. He had been standing behind all of the male candidates at Temperanth's first Hatching, but he could still see everything that was going on. He could see that the female Sunlance dragon was having a hard time finding hers. In fact, he had been dreading every Impression. With each new Impression, one less dragon was there for him to Impress.
L'ban was determined that this would be his last Hatching, whether he Impressed or not. It was near the end that he noticed the female Sunlance heading his way. Impression had been made and L'ban and Elisnath began their lives together.
Being so long in Ice Stone Weyr, L'ban had heard quite a bit of the Silverlight controversy. He had to admit that he didn't quite understand it. He thought that if the dragon was happy, that the people should be happy for it. Though he knew the disputed queens cross-Impressed, he saw no problem with that. Plenty of dragons cross-Impressed, what was one more dragon doing the same? Dragons Impressed to who they Impressed. There was nothing anyone could do about that.
Adoption?: Yes.

Role Play Sample:
The day of the Hatching began like any other day for Loban. He woke up groggily, slowly getting dressed before heading out for breakfast. He waved a hello to the few people he passed on the way. Morning klah completed, he went to check the mornings chores. He decided to go with changing the glows that morning. Simple enough, it should give him plenty of time to himself. Though it wasn't going to last much past morning.
Early afternoon brought the beginning of the Hatching. Loban had barely enough time between him finishing his first round of glows and the beginning of the Hatching to don his white robe and get to the Hatching sands. He stood behind most of the male candidates, not wanting to push anyone to get a look at the eggs. Though admittedly, he could still see pretty much what he wanted to see. He was surprised to see that the first egg to hatch was a Chrome. Unusual, he thought, but no one could have known that was going to happen.
Just after the Chrome hatched, a Gray hatched. Loban watched as dragonet after dragonet hatched and Impressed. With each new Impression came a tiny bit more worry that he would be left standing for yet another time. Though he had to admit, he was happy that the Chrome had found his lifemate. He thought it was only right that the shy dragonet find someone to be happy with. This thought gave him a slight amount of hope for himself.
There were still some dragonets on the sands who hadn't Impressed yet. A female Sunlance was one of the dragonets yet to find hers. She had glanced over the male candidates before with her Sunlance brother, but hadn't seen anyone that was hers. So Loban watched as she had gone over to the female candidates and still didn't see anyone. He continued to watch as she took her time looking through the candidates, though he took notes of the other eggs hatching as well. All of a sudden, the Sunlance was headed his way. Loban didn't know what to do.
'~L'banMine! What's the matter? Your Elisnath is here for you. Though maybe some food would be best.~'
L'ban was standing there, amazed. He had Impressed this time. Shaking his head, he smiled at Elisnath. "Uh, nothing is wrong. I think the food is this way." He said, barely able to gather his thoughts around the new Impression.
