It was apparent from Elora's pause that she had noticed his pause - and he knew well enough when a Rider spoke to their dragon. This might be bad. When she turned to converse with Saphireth, N'kio glanced to Metanath, and Metanath tilted his head to look back in return.
When are you going to tell her? Spreading his claws and examining them with lazy, blue eyes, he tuned out the females opposite them from their conversation. You will tell her, yes?
Does it even matter? It's not as if they're around all the time.
Who do you mean? The girls? Elora and Saphireth? And would you not want to know about her past as well?
A-All of them at once, I suppose. N'kio crossed his arms against his chest. It wasn't as if it was a crime to keep certain information from certain people, especially if one wasn't sure how long they would be around. Minimal chance of disappointment...should something not work out.
And sure, eventually, but what does that even…?
Metanath turned away and rubbed his cheek on the sandy grass. Then there is your answer. Give her the same chance to learn about you. As much as I don't like how fast it's moving, if you want this relationship to work, you're going to need more than secret visits. I know you're not as dumb as you look, so don't start acting like it now.
Sensing the dragon wasn't in the mood to carry the topic, N'kio uncrossed his arms and simultaneously tried to relax. He knew he shouldn't slip up again. For one, it wasn't something Elora should know now - not at the very beginning of it all. It was better to keep his nets in order.
He refocused his eyes on Elora once he realized she was turning around, and when he heard her jab at the scuttlebutt of the Hold, he smiled to himself.
"Few and far between are the things I keep to myself, even with my friends. You would be one of them, and not just for the obvious reasons."
