"It's very nice to meet you, Ragnar. I am Rekkora Cas--" She didn't even have a chance to finish introducing herself or do much more than blink and stare with her words caught in her mouth as the young woman that had been with Ragnar wrenched him away and inserted herself between the two of them. Her confusion didn't last long as the girl snarled at her. In all her time as a weyrling she'd dealt with suspicious glances and whispering and silence but never had anyone been so blatantly disrespectful to her.
Fingers closed around the gooey meat in her hand and the bloody juices seeped through her fingers, creating a pool on the ground dangerously close to the hem of her gown. Closing her mouth, her lips pressed together, Rekkora's eyes narrowed and she lifted her chin sligthly and somewhere out in the weyrbowl, a young Abyss growled though it was too far away to carry to the kitchen...yet.
There was not even a trace of her previous smile to be found on her pretty little face and blue eyes went cold. Pulling herself up to her full height, Rekkora drew in a slow breath as she sought the proper words to put this rude, disgustingly tall cretin in her place. "Nothing from you, that's for certain."
Outside, dragons loitering near the kitchen and dining cavern made room for Sunvoiath as she landed, her eyes a whirling mess of yellow and orange with hints of red. She snarled again, far less clam than her rider. How dare someone speak to the in such a manner? Sensing the riled presence of her dragon, Rekkora glanced towards the doorway and sent a soothing thought in the direction of the Abyss though it did little to calm the twitching of her tail or the whirling of her eyes; the most it did was send pinpricks of pale blue through the queen's eyes. With another deep breath, Rekkora allowed her own features to smooth and though not as friendly as they had been before they created a polite picture.
"As I was saying, Ragnar. I am Rekkora Castor; lifemate to the Abyss Queen Sunvoiath. Have you and your..." She gestured vaguely at the woman trying to interfere then went back to peering around her bulk to speak with Ragnar. "...been here long? Were you hoping to get a little companion? I'm afraid that I came a bit late, but there are still three eggs."
