Saphireth glanced at Elora out of the corner of her eye. Elora looked back at her. And amusement flickered in both of their eyes, Saphireth's whirling yellow while a smile danced on Elora's face. And just as quickly as the amusement came, the wiped it off both of their faces, Elora's lips twitching as they stared at Metnaath and N'kio with the most solemn faces they could manage.
Then Elora said, very officially and very slowly, "You, N'kio, are a moron."
And then she burst into giggles as Saphireth's tail whipped against the ground, the DarkBlue's eyes locked on Metanath. How terribly ungraceful of you.
Her jaw dropped into a draconian grin, the hide on her sides rippling with the closest thing to laughter she could manage. Elora flopped away from Saphireth and lay on the ground, still-wet clothes clinging to her as she looked up at the sky.
He could make her laugh. She liked that.
She liked him.
You will stay tonight. And you will enjoy yourself. Saphireth's voice floated gently through her mind, her voice soft and loving.
Elora picked her head up, looking up at where Saphireth still stared at Metanath. A soft smile flickered over her face. And you'll have a chance to talk.
Don't be silly. I plan on sleeping and ignoring you. I've become fairly good at it while you handle your... needs... yourself. I'm sure I can manage it tonight. Saphireth's amused tone made the smile flicker just a little wider on Elora's face.
But can he?
Oh, I hope I have another chance to tease him.
Elora turned her gaze back to N'kio, still smiling, but the look in her eyes was fading from the amused looks towards Saphireth to something much warmer. It didn't help that he was still shirtless, and a little sweaty, and that he made her laugh.
She liked that he made her laugh. She liked it a lot.
