Appearnace: Ostara is a tall woman at 5"9, long and lean in the body with very few curves. Her skin is smooth and tanned. Her hair is dark brown and always kept tied in a complicated braid with no hair left flowing to get in her dark brown eyes. Her face is a contrast to her athletic body, being deceptively young looking and kind. Her smile tends to be infectious as is her raucous laugh.
Personality: Ostara was once a girl who dreamed of impressing a Queen Dragon and becoming the most important woman in her original home, Rainbow Mists Weyr. But she learned quickly that there was more to rider life then being important and being adored. Ostara may appear to be young, but she is an experienced Rider and competitive to boot. She is friendly and warm, even to those she does not know well because she believes in making friends and building morale wherever she can. Ostara craves adventure and excitement and is not content with normal tasks, though she obviously has to do them just as everyone else.
History: Born in Stormy Plains Beasthold, Ostara was brought up by her parents, Jalda a Beastherder and Toroster a Healer, in a loving environment. She was never mistreated, even though she was a rebellious child. She was expected to work of course, helping her authoritative mother to tend their runner beasts and herd beasts when she wasn't taking lessons from her diplomatic father in herb lore and healing of the animals. And also when she wasn't running off and getting into trouble with her friends. Ostara was searched at the age of 15 turns and brought to Rainbow Mists Weyr, where she was convinced she would Impress a Queen. But she was destined to Impress the terribly vain Stelmarith the Starlight and when she met her Dragonet for the first time she couldn't have been happier. Ostara knew as soon as she Impressed that she craved the kind of adventure that could only be found in the mysterious Ice Stone Weyr. She wanted to know if the stories were true about this quiet and self contained community. Did they really dispose of SIlverlights and their Riders? Or did they have them as Queens? Of course Stelmarith wanted to know if any of the Dragons there could hope to match her beauty. Ostara applied for a transfer and was delighted to get it, though she was not prepared for what she discovered when she arrived there.

Dragon's Personality: Stelmarith is terribly vain and adores those who compliment her on her unusual markings and her general beauty. She prides herself on her appearance and will nag Ostara to oil her the very instant she feels an itch upon her hide. Though vain, she is not a spiteful or arrogant dragon and though she believes so much in her looks, she does not over estimate her abilities. Stelmarith has an endearing fascination with snow and will play like a Dragonet when she thinks no one is looking.
