He may have just woken up, but an amused grin already crossed the Harper's face as he sat down with a tray of food and a steaming mug of klah. The shrieks of a very flustered and embarrassed kitchen worker only just fading as she rearranged her skirts and mumbled about Harpers and personal space as she disappeared back to her station to help prepare for lunch.
Looking down at his tray, he felt a bit triumphant in the haul she had slapped on his plate to make him go away. A few tasty fruit, and a nice hunk of left-over roast wherry next to a bowl of stew and a still steamy bun. He tore a piece from the bread and dunked it into the stew, feeling quite satisfied as his stomach rumbled happily for the delicious food.
You really should stop harassing the women in the weyr. Axolzash's cool voice drifted into his head from his sunning perch atop the Weyr. You might lose your food-stealing privileges. Good point... She was asking for it though. Did you see those eyes she was giving me? He chuckled before taking a sip of klah and sighing in appreciation, ignoring the twinge of exasperation from his Lifewing.
Oh, don't be like that. Just because you thought it better we stay at the Aerie last night. At least those women shoo you off without rewarding your behavior. Axol did his best to sound disapproving, but K'ris knew otherwise.
