It was the night after the Hatching, and Harpyr was wandering the beach, uncaring of what Moraiya had to say. Right now, her head, and heart, were too distracted for the Bloodrider to reach her, too far away. Silently, she padded along, her white gown shimmering around her in an almost eerie fashion, her hair free and waving in the breeze coming off the ocean. For now anyways, she was free to do as she wished, and her wish was to just to think, to consider what she might have done wrong that had made Zabrielth-she'd learned the Azure's name later-choose Artemis instead of her. Had her thoughts not been welcoming enough, her heart not been open? Or was she just destined not to be a Rider anyways?
Shaking her head, she sighed, looking out over the water, her mind wandering, ignoring the pale shadow gleaming just at the edge of her vision. She'd only seen her clearly once, the night she'd woken to find her standing before her. Since then, whenever she looked directly where she SHOULD be, she found nothing, only that shadow on the edge of her peripheral. So now, she usually just ignored her, save when it was obvious she wanted Harpyr to pay attention to something...
