R'niaan popped out of between on the back of his Crimson, clinging to the neck ridge tightly. Bamath circled in rather lazily, knowing what fury could be befalling them rather shortly. He back winged and landed, both the pair with heavy heart and remorse for what had happened only days prior to their scheduled visit to their weyrmates.
R'niaan dismounted with ease from his beast, head hung low and eyes lowered like a canine that knew he had done wrong by his owner. He walked slowly to the Caverns, in search of his pregnant weyrmate; knowing her Aurora would have made it known that they were here. He knew the distress that he would be causing by showing his face, as if he hadn't already caused her enough during her pregnancy, but it was time to face the facts and own up to his won Flight.
It was not like Bamath could control his natural instinct to chase, it was bred in every male. It's not like R'niaan betrayed his mate on purpose. However, that was weyr life. R'niaan never wanted to settle down with one mate but he did and was shelling proud of who it was. However, today he was not proud of who he was.
Her heart would be broken, a fight would ensue, and only R'niaan had himself to blame.

Yuki was residing in a simple room in the lower caverns, one of the rooms that was normally used for visiting people of high rank, so it would be easier for the Healers to get to her should she go into labor early. For that, she was grateful, but she missed the warmth of having Ayleneth nearby. Grace, of course, rarely left the young woman's shoulder. Well, except to bring news of her brother's Impression to a Brown. And word of a Flight, another Aurora who Rose just a sevenday or so ago.
Bamath had Chased, had won... And that knowledge had upset both dragon and rider. It was happening again... But this time, she hadn't been there to see for her own eyes... And that fact made it hurt even more.
Suddenly, there was an image in her head overlaying itself in front of the wall. The Crimson and his Rider had just landed... Ayleneth was so unhappy, she hadn't said as much as ten words since they found out from the little Queen flit. The Aurora was on a ledge above, sunning herself under the winter rays, though more intense than their northern home. She watched, eyes strangely emotionless, wondering what was about to happen. Just as she had protected Hers when they had met Ice Stone's Weyrlingmaster, she would do so again should Yuki need her.
Yuki curled up under the furs, waiting for the inevitable. Oh Faranth, let this go better than it had last time...

R'niaan found Yuki's weyr, knocked and then walked on in. He forced a fake smile on his face before saying, "Hey, Yuki. How's my girl and my little one doing?" he said, indicating her pregnant belly and herself.
"Bamath and I just arrived, like we told you we would." R'niaan said, knowing that things could only go down hill from here. He had his defense lined up in his head but knew his mate wouldn't buy it. He'd be lucky if she even spoke to him again after this.
