S'rico hummed lightly as he held her, a mixture of tunes he'd heard before in his life time. He'd begun to think if it wasn't for Rekkora he'd be Mr Antisocial stuck in the shadows and not speaking to anyone. He was thankful for meeting her, for her dragging him out of the shadows and into the world. She'd shown him a lot in the time he'd been here. Mostly she'd shown him how to be happy, he wondered how he could do the same for her.
He closed his eyes and smiled as he felt her lips on his stubbled cheek. The mans face briefly flushing a light shade of pink. Sharding uncontrollable body functions. Knowing his face flushed made it flush even more. "I often wonder the same thing." He replied, thinking she'd probably be better off without him, but he would be lost without her.He couldn't help but laugh when he heard her stomach gurgle. "Oh good, maybe I don't have to eat by myself now." He said in a teasing tone, laughing, admiring the look of her face as it flushed.

Humming, she was pretty sure that if it wasn't this man in this place at this time, she would've been irritated. Humming generally bothered her, but not now. At the moment his humming was soothing and she closed her eyes. As such, she missed the coloring of his cheeks though he did not miss the coloring of hers. After saying such a sweet thing, S'rico laughed at her. Pulling her head back, her brow furrowed and her eyes narrowed. She might be a depressed, awful mess but that didn't mean she'd tolerate him laughing at her!
Oh...
Wait, had he just...when had he learned to tease? Blinking, her ire melting away in the wake of her disbelief, she stared for several long seconds at S'rico as he laughed again. He didn't do that too much either, she realized. A faint smile twitched on her lips. Carefully extracting herself from his lap, she readjusted the robe which was in danger of falling open and tied the sash once more before leaning over to kiss the kingrider once more on the cheek before stepping past him and towards the small dining area that was tucked in a corner of the weyr. "I'm not that hungry but I might pick at whatever you order." Truly she didn't have that much of an appetite, but her body clearly wanted her to eat something as it gurgled once more.
He stopped laughing and frowned when she furrowed her brow and narrowed her eyes at him. S'rico put on his best puppy eyes, which lets be honest, weren't good at all. He couldn't hold the face at all. Welp, at least he knew that'd be worthless in any situation. The thought was almost laughable and he had to hold back from actually laughing at himself. The king rider frowned a bit as she got up, but it faded as she placed her lips to his cheek once more.
He stood up and stretched his long legs, having gotten stiff from the position he'd been in, letting out a groan as he did so. He made sure to replace the brush he'd gotten earlier, not wanting it to be a hazard in the dark later. He hated when that happened.
"Who said I was hungry?" He asked in a non-serious tone. "You are the one whos body is grumbling for food." He smirked at her, running a hand through his hair.

"You're a giant." She replied, as if that answered everything. Then she elaborated on a theory of hers. "Besides that, you're a man. Men are always hungry." She had meant it as a playful tease, but as down and tired as she was, it just wasn't the same as usual; it lacked the typical sass. There was a bit of truth behind her teasing, though. Her brother had always been bothering their sister Korvalia for food when she'd lived at Ice Stone. Him and any other man.
Once she'd settled herself at one of the chairs, Rekkora stifled a yawn and pulled her legs up, crossing them. In truth, she would much rather prefer a nap to a snack but she cared just enough about manners and more than enough about S'rico to just up and wander off into her bedroom mid conversation and sprawl on top of the covers.
"I'm not always hungry." He replied pouting and looking at the floor. "I 'unnno, guess a couple meatrolls and some red fruit couldn't hurt.." He then patted himself on the small pooch of his belly. "Gotta keep my figure, anyway." S'rico couldn't help but chuckle at himself. He tried holding it back but couldn't help letting out a yawn. "'nd maybe a nap too." He had to admit that he was a bit tired. Truthfully he couldn't pass a good chance at a nap up anyway.
S'rico stayed in the same spot, admiring her from where he stood. He propped his hands on his backside, slipping one into the pocket of his trousers. The kingrider smiled as he looked at her, which he often found it hard to not smile when he did so.

She couldn't help but let out a light snort of laughter when S'rico patted his belly. SOmehow their roles had reversed. Somehow she'd become the grumpy one that lurked in the shadows and S'rico was trying to pull her out into the light again. Shaking her head, she rested an elbow on the table and propped her chin up on the heel of her palm.
Sunvoiath, would you be able to send for food?
[smear:111111]Yes of course. I will order a platter for the both of you.[/smear:d5a514]
Thank you, love.
Some poor soul was startled clear out of their mind as the Abyss bespoke them with clear and certain orders to prepare a platter of savory foods and sweet fruits and that it was to be brought to Rekkora's weyr at once. The poor lad nearly winded himself when he ran into one of the counters as he lurched to comply. Already he'd not been allow to attend the hatching and now the Abyss was making demands. He'd heard that her rider had gone crazy after the death of that old woman and the guard.
As gossip was won't to do, there were at least five different theories as to why and the severity of her insanity. The current ridiculous favorite was that Kumori had been the guard's mother and that he'd brought her to meet Rekkora as the two planned to be married and finding her unsuitable, the old woman had killed her own son when he refused to break it off with Rekkora. Yesterday had been half as ridiculous and tomorrow was sure to be twice as ridiculous.
Before long, the lad had gathered more than enough food and sent it up the pully system to Rekkora's weyr. Half asleep, the sound of the delivery system jolted Rekkora back to wakefulness and she sniffled as she glanced over at the wall. Yeah, she wasn't nearly hungry enough to fetch the tray; she'd leave that to Mr. Chuckles.
Ah that was the sound he enjoyed, her laughter was like music to his ears. Maybe he'd helped her feel better after all. S'rico could only hope so. The kingrider could've fallen on the floor laughing when he knew that Sunvoiath was going to send for food. Oh what poor soul, he was sure that whomever it was, was surely going to be startled to absolute death. As he snickered he walked over and perched himself across from Rekkora. At the mere mention of food, the white firelizard popped from between and perched eagerly on his shoulder. Snowstorm chirped excitedly, ruffling her wings and batting S'rico in the side of the head. "You are so very RUDE." He exclaimed, turning his head and furrowing his brows at her.
The king rider looked on at Rekkora as she dozed off, poor creature. He then heard the tell tale sound of their food arriving. Well, it was probably mostly his anyway seeing as the sleepy little bear he was sitting across from wasn't going to eat much. He thought he could always just sit upon her and make her eat. S'rico smirked at the thought and stood to retrieve their food, Snow zipping excitedly around the weyr now.
Mr. Chuckles walked back to the table with food in hand, having already stuffed a meatroll in his mouth. As he sat it down on the table, the small firelizard shuffled across the table and helped herself to a piece of the sweet fruit. "Eat some, then you can go snuggle up in the furs." He said glancing at her and reaching across the table to stroke her arm softly. "You'll feel better when you eat and get a nap. But eat first." He scolded in a teasing voice, wagging his finger at her.

Rekkora watched as the little white firelizard zipped around the weyr. She was a sweet little thing but very eager for food. The Abyssrider was still considering getting one of her own but had yet to entice one that she cared to entertain to her hand. Vain as she was, she wanted a firelizard that would compliment not only her complexion and wardrobe but also Sunvoiath; though her wardrobe was now specially acquired so that nearly every piece of clothing she had would go well with the queen's black and gold hide without making Rekkora seem too washed out. White simply would not look good next to her paler complexion, though she did find Snowstorm to be rather sweet.
Tired eyes shifted to S'rico as he set the tray on the table. There was more food on it than she thought she could eat in a day, even if she did have her usual appetite. Trying to decide which would be better to nibble on, she glanced up as the bronze-crimsonrider coaxed her to eat, stroking her arm. Truly, she didn't feel like eating but she couldn't remember the last thing she had eaten so maybe it was a good idea if she had a snack at the very least. Sighing, she reached out and snagged a meatroll to nibble on. She wasn't as fond of the sweets as some were, but that was likely due to her norther upbringing. She liked savory foods and halk. She was an oddity in the south; in so many ways. "Okaaay, I'm eating." He was like a hovering hen. She was fairly certain he was teasing, but not being used to this sort of behavior from the man, it was a bit disconcerting. Not entirely unwelcome but definitely disconcerting.
He felt better now, seeing her at least pick something up. S'rico didn't want to have to take her to the infirmary for undernourishment or something. He was sure between he and Snowstorm that the plate could be gone regardless of how much Rekkora ate. The man sat back, waiting for her to finish before he was going to prompt her to go to bed. It was obvious to him that she was tired, and he'd certainly been more awake in his life.
"Sorry." He replied to her, folding his arms in his lap and looking down at them. Pondering what exactly it was he was going to do after he put her to bed. Could always be a late attendee to the hatching, that was possible. Aldith could use a bath and an oil..that was more possible.
I could go for a good oil. Little itchy over here. The bronze-crimson interrupted his thoughts suddenly. S'rico smirked at the dragons words, clearly that's what he'd do then.
"I'll uh, see you to bed and be on my way then, I guess." S'rico looked up at her at he spoke.

ONe meatroll had been more than enough for her, despite how much noise her stomach had been making. ONce she'd finished her snack she was more than content to sit and watch S'rico and his little white eat. It was oddly comforting and to a certain extent felt like part of her usual routine and so made things seem a bit less messed up. Slowly she started to drift off again as she watched him and her head was starting to droop when S'rico spoke.
"Mm?" She blinked and looked around before her eyes settled on the kingrider once more. Her kingrider. It took a moment for her to register his words and then she frowned. "You're leaving?" She didn't want him to leave. NOt yet, at least. She knew she wasn't the best company but she didn't want to be alone.
"Oh..I just.." He fumbled through words, biting his lip and looking back over to Rekkora. "I don't have to leave." He decided, feeling awful once he'd seen how she reacted. S'rico mentally kicked himself in the rump then, knowing he should just keep his trap shut per usual. "I'm sorry." The kingrider murmured again, sitting up more in his seat and propping his arms on the table.
Glancing to the plate of food, he decided that he and Snow had eaten a good deal of it. And she'd probably be back for more if he left it sit there. The man then stood, holding a rough hand out to Rekkora, beckoning her to come with him. "Sleep time?" He asked, tilting his head to the side slightly in question. He wanted her to be comfortable, to be able to be comforted if she so needed it. It wasn't that he wanted to leave, he'd figured she'd want him to, though. "I'll stay if you'll have me." He smiled slightly, having no problems with keeping her company.

"If you have things you have to do..." Rekkora blushed and became suddenly very interested in the sash that held her robe closed. Usually she had no qualms with guilting someone into doing what she wanted. It was a tactic she used occasionally on S'rico when he was being particularly stubborn. But she didn't want to guilt him into staying with her just because she wanted someone around while she napped. Even she knew that was absurd. "I was just...you don't have to, of course, if..."
She trailed off as a large hand came into view. She followed it up his arm and further to his face, a look of utter relief settling over her features. Placing her hand in his, she unfolded herself from the chair and stood. Smiling she nodded and laced her fingers together with his. "Thank you, S'rico. Truly." She looked up at him, blue eyes soft and earnest and to her embarrassment, filling with tears. Had he always been this sweet and she'd never noticed? Or was he just being nice because Kumori... Closing her eyes, she drew in a deep, shaky breath and let it out slowly. Squeezing his hand, Rekkora gave his arm a little tug as she led them around the table and towards her sleeping chamber.
The bed was large as most beds were in the larger weyrs and covered exclusively in white furs; a feat she'd pulled off by being extremely patient and charming the weyr's tanner as well as a hunter that supplied furs to the weyr. There were pillows piled at the head of the bed, most of them black though there were a couple accent pillows of gold mixed in; some pillows were embroidered while others were plain. With the stone floor covered almost entirely with thick, plush rugs the room had an overall decadent feel to it that suited Rekkora quite well.
Slipping her hand from S'rico's, the Abyssrider disappeared into the bathing chamber, not bothering to pull the curtain shut as she traded her robe for an oversized, lightweight tunic that went down to her knees. With quick, deft fingers, she braided her hair into a single, thick plait and pulled it forward over her shoulder as she stepped back into the room.
As it was still quite warm, when Rekkora came back into the room and climbed onto the bed, she stayed on top of the furs rather than burrowing under them, though she did snag a simple lightweight woven blanket from a chair on her way over. Then began the process of shoving at least half the pillows out of the way, some of them even shoved right off the bed, until she found the more comfortable ones. "Take off your boots and whatever else. I'd rather you be comfortable, and I don't mind." She was weyrbred afterall. Besides, she'd been sporting nothing more than a robe since he'd arrived.
S'rico's lips twitched into a smile when she looked up at him, and he detected relief on her features. That made him feel better. "You're most welcome." He said simply, following suit as she tugged his arm and led them to her sleeping chamber. A place he'd been before, he wasn't a stranger to it, he did love the white furs on the bed, often wanting to snag them for himself. They were just so lovely. Although he really thought she had entirely too many pillows, they were good for making a pillow fort at least.
He almost trailed after her when she released his hand, but instead he stood in the middle of the floor. Glancing around the room, feeling bad for wearing his riding boots on the plush rugs. More often than not he felt oddly out of place in her sleeping chamber..he wasn't sure why. He shouldn't, it's not like he'd never been in it before. Shards, he'd been here plenty of times, taken more naps and slept here for the night more than he usually slept in his own weyr.
S'rico watched her crawl into bed, shoving half the pillows around and off the bed and he furrowed his brow at her. Why on Pern did she have that many in the first place? He shook his head, amused, and looked up when she spoke. Well, he guessed he'd have to get more comfortable in order to crawl into bed. He didn't much like sleeping with his riding boots on anyway. He bent at the waist, undoing the boots and slipping each off, carrying them then to the doorway and placing them neatly there. Orderly. He liked orderly. S'rico grabbed his tunic by the bottom and lifted it over his head in one sweeping motion, folding it in half and laying it ontop of his boots. He paused for a moment, sticking his thumbs in the waistband of his riding pants. It was too sharding warm to sleep with pants on anyway, and he disposed of them with his boots and tunic. "Better?" He asked, leaving the man in just his undershorts as he padded softly to the opposite side of the bed. He crawled in, laying ontop of the furs as well, folding his hands across his stomach. S'rico turned his head to look at Rekkora and smiled.

Rekkora watched S'rico with sleepy appreciation as he stripped off first his boots--and placed them outside the room; she hadn't even had to train him to do that--then ther est of his clothes until he was down to his shorts. He did look a bit out of place in her plush and pale room, all big and rough and covered in patches of dark hair. Still she liked him just where he was. If forced to, she would even admit that she preferred it when he was here; she slept better at the very least. When he'd finished stripping down, she smiled though the gesture was interrupted by a rather large yawn.
"Mm, yes. C'mere." She mumbled even as he approached the bed. As he settled onto his back, Rekkora crawled across the mattress, abandoning the pillows she'd painstakingly selected in favor of wriggling her way under one of the kingrider's arms so that she could sprawl herself halfway across his chest, using his shoulder and chest as a pillow instead. Hooking a leg over his, she draped an arm over his chest, her fingers slowly stroking the patch of hair there. She remained like this for several seconds before pushing up just enough to kiss S'rico on the lips before settling back down once more.
S'rico liked to feel wanted, and this certainly made him feel as such. Of course, Rekkora made him feel a lot of odd things he hadn't felt for someone else before. He hadn't admitted it to anyone, hardly even to himself. But it was pretty true. He smiled when he felt her crawling across the mattress, and moved to help her under one of his arms, wrapping that arm around her body then. "Mmm, much better." He murmured as she wrapped herself around him. Not that it was the most comfortable, considering if he had to move he was very well trapped.
His face flushed when she reached up to kiss him, the kingrider blinked several times and then smiled. "Comfy now?" He asked, the smile not yet receded from his face. Yes, he was glad he hadn't left. This was much better than any sort of work he had to do. S'rico sighed contently, tracing his fingers softly over the fabric of her tunic on her lower back.
