He couldn't help but smile watching Rekkora sweep into the dining hall. He admired her so, and it was the little things like that, that reminded him she was still very much herself..and would get better in time.
S'rico watched, obviously interested as the firelizard eggs hatched and impressed. He could remember fondly the day he aquired the white who was eagerly propped on his shoulder. Her tail was wrapped possesivly around his neck. He was hers. S'rico reached up and patted her lightly, of course he was hers..but if he happened upon another she'd just have to share. She knew that, but she'd been with him longer than anyone.
The kingrider sighed contently feeling her lean into his arm, her finger curled around his. Another he belonged to. One he hoped to belong to for a long time. Regardless of what others thought, Rekkora was his queen, and him her king. No formal say so needed. No mating flight bonded them together. It was something all too real. He turned his head slightly to rest his chin atop her head, his eyes rested on the basket.
--
Ayrenn watched the hatching eagerly, it was much, much different than the dragon hatching she'd attended. And from the looks of it, it was much different than impressing a dragon also. Her thoughts wandered to Junie, she tugged at the black dragonets mind -- still asleep as she'd suspected. A smile growing on Ayrenn's face at the thought of her bond. If she left without a firelizard, which she honestly expected to, she'd at least always have Junwingth.
Kitalia grinned from ear to ear as she gained some sort of affirmative from the woman. Yes! The eggs were hatching! She wiggled with glee as she latched her gaze upon the basket. Oh yes! She was so excited to see the little ones! She grinned broadly as they began to emerge. Oh there were some lovely ones to be sure! Such pretty colors, even if most of them were dark so far. Oh there was that Citrine! So brightly colored and so cute! She grinned as she thought of her own dragonet and certainly found she loved the bright and pretty colors for sure. But then again, she wouldn’t say no to one of a ‘less pretty’ color, considering they were all beautiful in her eyes.
She allowed her gaze to be torn away from the excitement briefly to scan the crowd. She grinned brightly as she saw a couple people she recognized. And then her eyes settled upon one of her dear friends and Weyrling-mates. She bounded over to Ayrenn with a bright smile upon her excited features. “Oh Ayrenn! Isn’t this just so exciting?” She grinned brightly to her as she held her few meatrolls, gently waving the one passing the meat around on. She had brought her own snacks for the babies, not certain when they would be hatching. Yea… She should have known that food would be provided… Yet she didn’t know just where the hatching would take place and she wanted to be ready.
She stood by Ayrenn now, but kept her attention focused upon the little ones as they emerged from their eggs.
T’lok, upon being given the permission to take a seat near this other person, he quietly dropped himself into his chosen seat and allowed his gaze to drift idly over to the basket. He certainly hoped none of the blasted things made their way over… But it was likely too much to hope for, and sure enough it didn’t take long. Well he was thankful for the silence that fell between the two ‘riders for the moment. But it was not to last. Just when T’lok was thinking they had chosen a good place far enough away, something had smacked into Cr’wean’s shoe. He allowed his gaze to drift idly down and cringed a little. Lovely… One of the blasted creatures… And then it began to cry… T’lok sighed and allowed his eyes to close, leaning back against the chair back as the black made such a ruckus and irritation of herself.
No matter what tactics Cr’wean tried, the little beastie was fixated upon him… He sighed a little and shook his head a little as she stuck around through it all. T’lok soon watched Cr’wean, feeling some bit of amusement at his frustration. Poor guy though… But soon enough he watched the man scoop up the tiny Firelizard and bellow in her face. T’lok’s eyebrows rose and he chuckled softly as she fell silent for a moment and then cried with fright and hunger. T’lok’s heart began to go out to the little creature, and yet he was still glad he wasn’t the one chosen by her. He nodded a little as Cr’wean grabbed some meat and placed it and the black on the table. Chuckling softly, he shook his head a little. “Ya know… Yer never goin’ to git rid of the thing now…” He murmured softly to Cr’wean with a broad grin as he looked over the small black flit. She was a pretty little thing… But somehow he figured she knew it.
Lan was both happy and a bit weirded out by Saddyris’ enthusiastic greeting. The hug was a bit much. Was that how women treated their friends? So his response wasn’t as enthusiastic, but he did hug back, like one who just does it because they are expected to. That aside, it really was good to see her again.
“I’m pretty good, what about you?” He looked at the eggs. “I see you’ve been busy.” She told him to hold on for a second and he watched her expertly deal with a drunk man. He watched with some approval. “Very busy.” He mentioned with a smile. It was weird talking like this, he wasn’t sure if he liked it or not.
He didn’t notice his teacher eyeing him sidelong. Kashpa hid a more nefarious smile and put on a bright smile for the firelizard eggs. They started to hatch, and it was pretty fun to watch them. Although she looked up with a frown when she heard someone shouting. Geez, what was his problem? Mostly she watched the people around her feed firlizards. The Weyrleader had an Iron interested in him, and another rider had a Citrine to feed. She hadn’t noticed the Black, so really there was only the Sunlance to watch. It was cute. Of course if she wanted to look at pretty firelizards, the parents of the clutch were fine lookers as well. They were pretty brightly colored as well. They both seemed intent on keeping the clutch safe, which was adorable to her.
She watched the Sunlance, while keeping an eye on Lan, who looked like he was doing pretty well. Seemed like he really didn’t quite get girls though. Even if he tried. For now, she was a proud teacher indeed. ---
Cr’wean growled. “Well too bad, the brat’s gonna have to stay put. I am NOT letting that thing get in the way of my shift. She can sharding deal with it because my patients aren’t gonna wait.” He’d leash the monster if he had to.
While the Sunlance continued to try and determine which of the people assembled needed her the most, or maybe who had the best food, the blue stumbled out of the basket and waddle marched in a rather determined fashion towards Lithena. It was hard to tell if he’d decided she was the one that would feed her or if it was just because she happened to be directly in his path as he fluttered his damp wings, wobbling now and then until he was directly in front of the dragonrider.
While all of this was happening, several more of the eggs hatched in rapid succession. Another vividly colored firelizard burst forth from its shell near the middle of the clutch. The RR Flame then proceeded to stomp and stumble through the rest of the clutch, his bright wings flailing as he toppled head first out of the basket and let out a hiss. Tail twitching, he righted himself and then looked around. Where was there food? There! The blue sibling! There would be food there. He would have the food! Zigzagging across the gap between himself and Lithena, the little king finally stopped in front of the woman, his tail coiling around his haunches and his little front claws capturing the tapered end as he peered up from beside the blue, his eyes narrowed.
One of the eggs to hatch from the Neon RR Flame’s exodus spilled a rather dazed and vibrantly colored purple. She lay there in the ruined of her shell, wedged between two more rocking eggs and blinked several times before letting out a loud shriek. As she was near the back of the basket one would just assume that once she flailed and flopped herself to rights, she would just crawl over that side. Nope. She first went one way, perching on top of the smallest egg until it crumbled and a tiny white screeched at her. Then she scampered the other way, being startled by the hatching of another black. It was like a massive obstacle course for the little thing, hatching eggs everywhere she turned. A brightly colored pinkish sunset—who engaged her in a bit of fun which resulted in more cracked and hatched eggs—a jungle, a grey, and a larger than average white with a streak of purple down his side. But when another black hatched with bits of pink on her, the fun was over. With a screech, she sent all flits scattering as she struck a pose. Only to be toppled out of the basket as the three eggs around her hatched almost simultaneously, revealing a vibrant green, a pale blinking pink and a spunky little cloud. That left two eggs; one in the basket that wobbled and shook and M’brey’s. Both took their time as little bits and pieces feel away. A sunset was left in the basket and M’brey found himself with a gold…no…there was pink!
As the firelizards scattered, things got a bit chaotic. A few of the newly hatched beasties scampered through the crowd, the little cloud in the lead, being chased by the ever playful white-purple and his neon sunset sister. The three ended up in a tangled, tumbling mass that rolled right into T’lok’s boot. When the three managed to disentangle themselves, they promptly used the man’s leg as a means to get up to the top of the table where the tumbling and general rough housing continued until: OMG FOOD! The white-purple launched himself at the food in front of Cr’wean that his black sister was picking at, using the cloud as a springboard and sending her tumbling off the end of the table and into T’lok’s lap. With a squeal, the neon sunsent decided that it looked like fun and hurled herself off the table at T’lok as well. (Apparently random number generator likes anti-social people >>;;;
The sunlance finally decided that food was more important and began to poke T’ai’s boot. She supposed she could also fuss over him…once she was fed. Meanwhile the pink was fascinated by the strange man that was leaning out of his chair and being loud. Trilling at A’kai she sat up on her haunches and tucked her front claws against her pale pink chest. Curious about what his sister was looking at the jungle ventured over as well and moved closer than the pink dared. When all the man did was smile strangely, the Jungle moved on and found himself in front of Ayenn. Hello there lady. Can has food?
The neon purple who had instigated the hatching of the rest of the clutch had made a beeline for Kitalia during the chaos and was now bouncing and prancing, her damp little wings fluttering as she tried to think of a way to get at the food in the girl’s hand. Gimme, gimme, gimme! A bit overwhelmed by all the madness, the little white had crawled over to a safe looking woman after being bowled over a few times by her siblings and crawled up onto Bekah’s shoe. Maybe now people wouldn’t step on her…and she could get some food.
The little grey spotted a pair of people that were looking a bit too focused on each other for her tastes. So stalking over to S’rico’s foot, she threw herself on the ground with a long, drawn out creel that was brought to an abrupt halt when her black brother smacked her in the face with his tail as he stepped over her and then peered up at the woman and her long dress, his claws scraping against the ground before he lifted a claw, clearly intending to climb. Rekkora scowled at the little black, flicked him on the nose and then scooped him up, ignoring his indignant hissing while she scolded him.
The neon green, made a circuit around the room, stuffing her nose up pant legs and skirts and sniffing at shoes until she finally came across Kashpa…who was watching a man and a woman not far away. Oooh, what was happening? She wanted to watch too! Up! Up! Up! The little green bounced and screeched and flicked her tail to get the woman’s attention.
As the neon green was torn between food and watching what Kashpa was watching, the bold little black-pink was strutting across the dining hall towards the man they were watching. When she arrived and he didn’t immediately notice her, she let out a little chirp and then struck a pose. Lookit me, I’m pretty! LOOKIT ME! Saddyris tried to stifle her laughter and nudged Lan. They could pick up their conversation after the needy little baby got some attention.
That left only the sunset. Curious, she spotted a baby firelizard that hadn’t hatched from their clutch and made her way towards the table where Lylore had situated himself. She didn’t want to bother the man, but she did want to see the other firelizard. Torn between shyness, hunger and curiosity she let out a soft little squeak and peered up at the man and his new companion.
---------------------------------------
Rekkora was gradually becoming more and more comfortable with allowing public displays of affection with S'rico. It was becoming less and less important to her that she maintain that air of availability that would aid in her attempts to win over the hearts, minds and other organs of the men of the weyr--her charms were useless on women for the most part. Since Irai's death she had been far less flirty and far more content keeping company with her kingrider. So when he rested his chin atop her head, she smiled slightly and didn't move away. At least not until the little grey flopped at S'rico's feet and a little black nearly trampled her.
Stern expression in place, Rekkora released the kingrider's hand and stooped down to flick the little black on the nose when it looked like he might put a claw to her gown. "Don't you even think about it." She chided as she scooped up the black, ignoring his hissing as she shook a finger at him. "That is no way to treat a lady, no matter how ridiculous she is being. Do you want food?" The little black hissed again and then snapped at her finger only to get bopped on the nose with it. "Then behave!"
She set about finding a bit of food and after a bit of a power struggle the black settled and was fed. Rekkora hadn't intended to find herself a firelizard just yet but one had found her. And at least he wouldn't clash with her wardrobe or with Sunvoiath. A glance at the grey determined that she wouldn't look amiss in Rekkora's weyr any more than Snowstorm did.
Appearance: A vibrant and near blinding display of yellows, oranges and reds, this firlizard is a sight to behold. Every bit as glorious as either of his parents, he has a proud and regal bearing that os only somewhat tarnished by his tendency to hug his own brightly colored tail. There are brief flashes of bright blue on his claws and even his nose as well as one side of his forked tail. His wings are quite large and his body sturdily built. He will be a strong little king once he is grown and capable of carrying bulky packages. Certainly, you'll never loose this guy in the crowd.
Personality: [insert name] is a peculiarity among RR Flames. All of the expected personality traits and none of them. Though his most prominent seem to be quite the opposite of his Neon sire. He has his moments of regal stoicism where he will perch sagely upon his handler's shoulder, observing and lording over all he sees. Then other moments when everything he comes in contact with seems to irritate him beyond reason. These are his extreme poles as more often than not he is a bit silly and certainly far less dependent on you than you might wish; but he'll always come back. Hey, at least you don't have to worry about him waking you up to eat at the crack of dawn. With a tendency to hug his own tail either sleeping or awake, he has moments where he becomes strangely fixated on it. Curious and precocious, he is liable to get into everything that isn't tied down or securely fastened shut and you will find him in the oddest places when he seems to go missing. Don't forget to check under your covers or inside your dresser drawers.
Blue to Lithena
Appearance: A burly little thing, this blue has the appearance of being rather well muscled. Combined with a slightly compact figure, his agilty is a bit lacking but his stamina and strength is much improved. His hide is a dusky shade of cobalt that makes him appear a bit drab but his personality more than makes up for it.
Personality: Mild tempered and even sweet, this little blue wants nothing more than to please you. If that means hauling your boots across your room because you're too lazy to get them, or fetching whatever item might pop into your mind before you've even decided that you want it, then he is your man flit. Just be careful not to work him too hard as this little fellow doesn't always know when to take a break, he'll continue at his little self appointed fetching tasks until he's too tired to fly.
Gold-Pink to M'brey (Please take the amount needed for bi-color out of my marks)
Appearance: A bit on the petite side for a gold, this little lady is seemingly a uniform shade of pale gold. At least until she shifts her wings; then a rosy shade of pink is revealed to cover her rump in a mottled fashion that bleeds down either hind leg as well as nearly half of her tail. While she might be smaller than your average queen, it isn't by too much though her stamina is a bit hindered by her size.
Personality: Outgoing and commanding in presence, this little sweetie is a kind queen. Any order that comes from her is chirped or trilled and she is truly quite vocal. She is quite enamored of M'brey's singing and music and even attempts to dance from time to time, though this really only amounts to shuffling or swaying or bobbing her head. She can be taught to harmonize though she isn't nearly as talented as her pink sister. Mild tempered and a fan of snuggling and preening, she doesn't stray far from her handler.
Cloud (F) to T'lok
Appearance: A bit on the petite side, this only lends more to her aerial antics. She is streamlined and agile and a delight to watch in the air. With a base hide that mirrors the clearest of skies, she is scattered with the wispy hints of clouds broken apart by high, cool winds. A beautful little thing that only seems to settle long enough to eat or sleep.
Personality: With a love of flight ingrained in her very being, almost every waking moment is spent in the sky. She will try and coax other firelizards into playful games and is truly the definition of friendly and outgoing. When she can be bothered to perch, her favorite spot seems to be your head as it is the highest point she can manage. She will settle for a shoulder, but grudgingly as she can see far less from that vantage, nevermind that it's less than a foot of difference. If there is a dragon nearby that is willing, they will also become a perch as they are far, far larger than her handler. But truthfully, the only time she settles is to either sleep or eat.
Neon Sunset to T'lok
Appearance: Lithe and agile with a streamlined figure, this little girl is every bit as vibrant as her parents. Patches of shocking blues, yellows, pinks and purples all blend together to stunning effect. Certainly far more radiant than any tropical sunset the southern continent has ever seen!
Personality: When is play time? ALL THE TIME! Everything is a game to this spunky little girl. You're trying to get dressed in a hurry? Clearly you want to play hide the sock. You're trying to read an important document? Guess who will be peeking over and under and all around that parchment? This girl! Even your frustration is a game. You scream, she squeals and the chase begins. But at least you will never doubt that she loves you; prepare to share everything you ever own and know that she is why "you can't have nice things." All the things are toys, including you.
White-Purple (M) to Cr'wean
Appearance: A handsome over-sized white, this little fellow is streamlined and well proportioned for ease of flight. His stamina is easily twice that of your average white, all thanks to the streak of royal purple that runs along either side of his neck and chest, down to his belly. His head knobs also sport the color as well. Overall he is a fine specemin.
Personality: For the most part, this little man is a calm, soothing companion. Quick to pick up on your moods and eager to banish any of the more negative ones. But running like a thread through him, is his purple tendencies towards excitement and playfulness. Often his attempts to cheer you up lead to ridiculous displays of silliness. Likewise, when you are feeling particularly happy, he is prone to similar displays of outright hyper jubilation. Vocal and curious, he will likely always insert himself in every aspect of your life. But why wouldn't you want him there?
Sunlance to T'ai
Appearance: Curvy and utterly feminine, this little sunlance has wings that are slightly too large for her frame though it does not detract from her appearance in the least. Her color is a pale, creamy yellow that coveres her throughout.
Personality: A fussy little hen of a sunlance, this girl will be glued to your side should you ever feel under the weather. She will despair when you are sad and fuss when you hurt. She will smother you with her love whether you want it or not. All because she knows that you need it. Woe be to anyone who jostles you to hard or hurts your feelings. She will unleash upon them the scolding of a lifetime.
Pink to A'kai
Appearance: A soft, pale pink in color, this little lady is a bit on the long side though her length is nearly all neck and tail. Her wings are a bit narrow but serve her well enough. Though a bit on the lanky or even whippy side in figure, she finds it far more easy to coil about her handler's neck.
Personality: A sweet little thing, she will always be there for you in the morning with a warbled greeting. Friendly and gentle, she can be a bit shy when it comes to meeting new people or even other firelizards and will need your encouragement. Though, once she realizes that another being isn't going to be mean to her, she takes to them quite well. She loves to sing and is incredibly fond of water.
Jungle to Ayenn
Appearance: His neck may be a bit on the short side but otherwise this jungle is a rather becoming example of his kind. A mottled mixture of greens with a hint of brown here and there. His wings are a bit on the large side which makes for a strong, powerful flier though he is more than content to stay put on his handler's shoulder.
Personality: A quiet and reserved fellow, this Jungle is more than content to sit wherever he is told and watch you and all your entourage. If he is near his you he is happy. A life long companion more than willing to fight for you though he much prefers to simply herd you out of harm's way. Enamored of your voice, he could sit and listen to you talk for hours and will likely do so. It could be completely inane chatter but he will be glad for it.
Neon Purple to Kitalia
Appearance: Sleek and agile with large wings and a thick, strong tail that is perfect for knocking over just about everything, this athletic little beauty is a brilliant shade of purple that is hard to look at for too long. Thankfully she doesn't sit still long enough for a person to stare. She is strong and quick in flight, if not the most graceful and because she moves so spastically she is quite prone to knocking into things.
Personality: She. Is. Nuts. The only time this little beauty calms down is to sleep. Even then she twitches and chirps as her dreams are vibrant and lively. She is a messy eater if only because she is often trying to do two things at once such as eat and scamper across a ledge above your bed, or eat and chase that tunnelsnake to see where it goes. From the moment she wakes up, this bright little dear is moving. This way then that, never staying on task for long and hopeless when it comes to appointed tasks. Half the time it is questionable if she even remebers what she had intended to do mere minutes after she started doing something. Getting her to hold still for bathing and oiling will be a chore and it is a task best attempted while she is either sleeping (as despite her twitching she will sleep like the dead) or while eating if you're is feeling lucky.
White (F) to Bekha
Appearnce: Everything a white should be and more, this little girl is tiny. Even when full grown, she will be able to perch comfortably in the palm of a large hand. The lines of her figure are sleek and feminine and her head a bit more narrow and angular that your average flit. Her hide is a crisp, pure white and when the light hits her wings just right, there seems to be a faint sheen of blues and greens and even a bit of pink.
Peronality: A lover of snuggles and pets, this little girl will rarely stray from your side and then it shall be very reluctantly. As small as she is, and with a fondness for burrowing under things such as pillows and blankets and even shoes, it would be wise to check before you flop on your bed or cram your foot into that boot, especially if you don't see her around.
Grey (F) to S'rico
Appearance: A soft dove grey, this little dear is perfectly proportioned in every possible way. Her wings are one and a half times as wide as she is long and her tail is just as long as her body and neck combined. Her head is the perfect little wedged shape and everything about her speaks to elegance and grace.
Personality: A moody little thing, this grey is a bit of a moper. And by moping I mean that when she becomes dejected and fed up with disappointment, which she almost seems to seek out at times for the express purpose of being mopey, she will flop drmaatically on the nearest soft surface; pillows and laps being her favorite. She will remain limp, whether or not you pick her up until the problem is addressed. Sometimes it can be something as simple as the fact that you didn't greet her in the morning with your usual cheerfulness or maybe something a bit more serious like perhaps you were so very busy that you forgot that it was oiling day. Don't worry though, she gets over it with a bit of extra attention and goes back to being her sweet, composed, affectionate self.
Neon Green to Kashpa
Appearance: A bit on the stumpy side for a green, this little girl wouldn't exactly be called petite. In fact she's downright squat and her wings are far too long and skinny to look normal. At to that a sickly, acid green that is far too bright to be normal and she is an interesting little package. Still she will prance about and flirt better than any of her contemporaries and certainly seems to have no notion of how awkward she truly is.
Personality: The busiest busy body you will ever meet, this little Neon Green must be everywhere and know everything. Despite her awkward physique she still manages to get around quite well and is easily five times as flirty as any other green you'll meet. If it's male she will latch onto it; it doesn't even matter if it's another firelizard or not. Make sure you keep an eye on her around the whers, not all of them like aggressive snuggles from a little glow-in-the-dark green.
Black-Pink to Lan
Appearance: Lithe and petite and unmistakably feminine, at first glance, this little girl is everything a female black should be. Grace, elegance and a posture any queen could be jealous of. Nothing out of the ordinary but for a peculiar little streak of pink hide along the edge of her upper lip. At least that is what anyone would think until the little beauty unfurls her wings and reveals a stunning display of a vibrant pink that covers at least two thirds of the undersides of her wings, fading to black towards the muscled front end and to a paler pink along the trailing edges. A stunning little bicolor to be sure!
Personality: With a regal disposition and a flare for the dramatic, [insert name] rather adores the spotlight. She will, of course, demand as much of your attention as she possibly can through various mostly harmless antics. Prone to pinkish bouts of playfulness and spontaneous warbling when she is feeling particularly excitable, the little black-pink is a loving, gentle soul wrapped up in pretentions and sophistication. However, do not be mistaken by these bouts of cuteness, [insert name] is in charge and if you ever forget this, she is more than happy to wake you up in the wee hours of the morning to remind you.
Sunset to Lylore
Appearance: Swathed in the warm, intense tones of red, orange and yellow, this sunset is a bit on the pudgey side. She's not one ot overindulge at feeding time so it seems to simply be the way she was built. It makes her playfulness all the more endearing, however, so certainly is nothing to worry about.
Personality: A sweet natured, curious thing, this sunset is a bit shy about wanting to play. She doesn't want to bother you after all. Perhaps it would be best if she played with other firelizards so as not to bother you. But know that it is your attention she prefers. Perhaps not nearly as outgoing as some sunsets, she is still friendly and faithful until the very end.

THE END PLEASE STAY AND INTERACT AND POST REACTIONS TO ALL THE THINGS. THANKS FOR BEING PATIENT WITH ME; HOPE YOU LOVE THEM AS MUCH AS I DO.
ALSO YES, I DID USE RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR FOR ALL THE THINGS. EVERY CHARACTER GOT ONE FIRELIZARD AT RANDOM AND THEN FOR THE LEFTOVERS CHARACTERS WERE CHOSEN AT RANDOM TO GET A SECOND.THE ONLY ONES THAT WERE PREDETERMINED WERE REKKORA'S BLACK, M'BREY'S GOLD-PINK AND S'RICO'S GREY BECAUSE REKKORA CANNOT HAVE CLASHING COLORS M'KAY. EMBRACE THE CHAOS. RANDOM.ORG KNOWS BEST!
Cr’wean rubbed his temples, growling quietly as it got noisier in here. Too noisy. He glared at the Black, who he was thinking of positively ‘delightful’ names for. That’s about where he was at when Kiyosh caught him.
[smear:993300]Oh no you don’t. You are not inflicting some poor firelizard with that sort of name.[/smear:A0522D"]
You clearly havn’t met the shrill harpy.
[smear:993300]Doesn’t matter. I don’t want to have to refer to it as a curse. Pick something acceptable or I’ll pick it for you.[/smear:A0522D"]
You take her, I don’t want her. Cr’wean had no patience for loud, bratty things. He didn’t even think firelizards were cute. Surprisingly, neither did Kiyosh. Point was, he was not in the mood. When the White-Purple join the Black in his little food party, he looked about ready to explode. At least until…
“Aw, I missed it!” Cyan appeared from the lower caverns, Dawn and Breaker following her. She watched all the people with pretty firelizards before spotting Cr’wean and heading over. “Aw, cute! You got them?” The Sunset and the Brick hovered over the tiny ones, the Black stopping her eating to present herself more favorably to the elder flitters. Mostly to the Brick.
“Got is not the word I would use.” Cyan paid no mind to his grumpiness.
“Aw, she’s cute! Hello little one. Oh, and he’s handsome. I hope Dawn and Breaker will be friends with you guys.” She beamed at them, watching the White-Purple chirp pleasantly at her before watching her brother. He had a handful on his hands. But the little boy had plans! He took another bite of food and made a pleasant croon to Cr’wean, which sounded more like a weird ‘bwah’ noise with the food in his mouth. Cyan giggled, Cr’wean remained unmoved. Tough crowd. “Have you named them yet?”
“Kiyosh disapproves of my choices.” Cr’wean sounded annoyed. He didn’t want to be saddled with them. At least not the Black, she had proved herself to be a brat early.
“I’ll help name them!”
“Sure, whatever. Can you watch them while I work?”
“Of course!”
“Good.” He stared as the White-Purple attempted to do a little flip, falling on his back. The other was actively aggravating, this one at least was not that bad? He leaned on the table, resting his chin on his hand. “His name is Trynol.” Trynol looked up and trilled from his position on his back. Cr’wean wasn’t as grumpy! He had succeeded! The Black barreled over Trynol to get back into the spotlight, and Cr’wean’s mood when right back where it was. Trynol squeaked, a little ‘oh-no’ sound as his sister tried to steal the spotlight. Dawn looked somewhat sympathetic, before looking around for her own sibling. Breaker was not in sight. Uh-oh.
“Let’s see, a good name for her. Hmm. How about Flourish?”
“Sure, whatever.” He really didn’t care. The exchange was somewhat interrupted when a cook brandishing a broom came out chasing Breaker, who had a meat pie in his claws. He expertly swerved into the hatching commotion, making good his escape into the lower caverns before the cook had time to navigate the chaos. Cr’wean looked unimpressed and Cyan looked mortified. “And you wonder why I don’t want them.” He mumbled under his breath.
Kashpa looked delighted as the mess of firelizards skittered around her, causing merry chaos about. The Sunlance skittered off, to find a human, who was one of the new weyrlings. She smiled and continued to watch the firelizards, all in turn. It was quite the flurry of brightly colored creatures, and it was hard to keep an eye on all of them while keeping an eye on her student. A small group headed toward the table with the grump, she rolled her eyes and went back to watching the others. Soon enough she heard some chirping and turned to see a bright Green firelizard looking at her. Kashpa smiled genuinely.
“Here we go sweetie.” She picked up the flitter to give her a view of the other two humans, while the Neon chirped, delighted she could see. She creeled, but kept looking at the humans, trying to see what Kashpa was observing and the harper had to give a little snicker. Soon enough she had meat for the firelizard, who could investigate while being fed. Kashpa grinned while feeding her, contemplating a name.
“I’ll call you Scout. That seems to fit.” She pet the bright flitter and watched Lan and Saddyris.
Lan was looking forward to talking with Saddyris more, but he was interrupted when she pointed down at his feet. The little Black wanted his attention. He picked her up, in a way that looked relatively unpleasant but in actual fact didn’t bother the firelizard at all. He had practiced on Arc. Speaking of Arc, if this was going to be a thing he better start introductions now. He had a rather large group of hangers on, and there was a lot of different dominance rules. Rule one that he would have to teach this new one was that Syne was not to be messed with. Ethliask had tolerance for firelizards, Syne found them more in prey territory. He wasn’t aware of what he was about to try to balance.
He grabbed some food and started feeding the Black-Pink, waiting patiently. Because give him enough time with food in his hands, and Arc would appear. So she did. The little White popped in, immediately clinging to Lan. It was too noisy for anything else. He rubbed his cheek on her as she clung to his shoulder, calming down a little bit. Then she peered at the young Black, who was enjoying the attention. Yes, this is what she wanted. But who was that on his shoulder. Hmmm, but she was still getting attention at the same time. The firelizard was having a hard time dealing with that.
“Arc, meet Soida. Soida, meet Arc.” He named the Black-Pink and introduced her in the same breath. He would have to introduce her to Ethilask as well. He didn’t know it yet, but that was going to be an issue.
Ayrenn turned to look at Kitalia as she excitedly entered and found her. She grinned to the other girl and nodded, it was exciting. "My first firelizard hatching. Not sure how I will fare if I get one, I don't know much about them." She looked to the meatrolls in the other weyrlings hands, hm that was a good idea. But Ayrenn had taken the food provided kindly, picking at it with her fingernails as she turned her attention back to the eggs. They all seemed to hatch in a blur of color and noises, promptly clinging to the others and begging for food. Was this how these hatchings went?
Ayrenn hadn't been paying all the attention in the world when the jungle firelizard made his way to her and promptly asked for food. She was almost startled out of her boots, almost. She smiled softly to him as he wrapped his multi-colored green tail around one of her fingers. Food. Please lady? I want food. She felt the need to eat in the pit of her stomach as she'd felt when impressing Junwingth..similar but much more muted. Interesting. Ayrenn was still unsure of how she felt about the little dragon miniatures..but she guessed she was stuck with one now so she'd better get used to it.
The jungle was happy once she finally fed him. He thought she'd take forever and he was STARVING. Yes thank you food is good. He crooned a thank you before he chomped more food with his mighty maw. He was much more content now that his belly was full. "Think I'll call you..Thorn." She murmured to the jungle who was now happily crawling up her shirt to curl himself around her neck. It felt nice to have one, she no longer felt like she was missing out by not having a flitt. Ayrenn just hoped she could balance a new flitter and a new dragon at the same time. Oh how her responsibilities were growing!

S'rico was almost surprised to see the seemingly jealous grey 'lizard flop to his feet creeling in an attempt to draw attention away from Rekkora. "Well hi to you too." He mumbled as he bent over to scoop her up, but he was not quick enough and she was soon being bopped in the face by the blacks tail. A black who was going to claw his way up Rekkora's leg. Oh Faranath how interesting this would be.
The kingrider couldn't help but want to howl with laughter when Rekkora began to scold the black. He held his composure and nearly snorted when she booped the black on the nose again. "Seems you've found yourself a handful." He said with a smirk. Snowstorm had not been paying attention, off to find herself food, only to return to see the grey in his arms. She creeled a whine of disapproval to S'rico and a hiss to the grey. "Oh behave." S'rico grumbled to her. "You'll have to share." He was always quite fond of the tiny firelizards. He'd grabbed food for the new grey, carefully letting her eat and handing bits to Snowstorm as well. Trying to qualm her jealousy wouldn't be easy but he was confident that she'd get over herself..eventually.
