When a science experiment gone wrong ruins a gold's fertility, a new Weyrhold is founded. With very little outside contact, they form a new system of government that works most of the time. Now, more than thirty turns after the founding of White Cliff, an onyx queen has flown and is ready to lay her eggs. Unrest is building; change is not always for the better, and who knows what this clutch will bring.
