79.01.08 Mid day close to noon
Phoenyx trudged towards the kitchen as her dragon's and her stomachs growled for lunch. Her blonde- white hair was tucked up in a twisted braid that flowed into a pony tail down past her trousers looking as neat as her wrinkled clothes. She looked worn out from the last couple of days of the feeding that she had to do with her new partner. It wasn't that she wasn't use to the long hours it was just trying to nap in between the feedings was just making things worse for her.
"Mine we are getting food right?"
Nyx patted her beautiful grey's neck as they continued towards the kitchen "Aye little one we are getting food" They strolled further in only to set down next the hearth when she pulled out some fabric to restitch. Her eyes studied the strands as she then tracked some food for the grey that sat beside her keening for the food even thought she had not been fed but three or so hours before. "When will you stop being so hungry little one?"
"Nyx, you know as much as me... find someone else that can give us the information" The grey said softly before pushing her muzzle into Phoenyx's hand to eat the piece of meat offered. Her eyes whirled a pleasant green as she purred with pleasure.
Cr’wean was annoyed. He didn’t want to slow down, but the other healers had been eyeing him like he was going to pop a stitch. He could check up on his patients! He hadn’t suddenly become an invalid with a few scratches. Of course the dull ache hadn’t helped his mood either, so during lunch he was extra grumpy. He had eaten his food in sullen silence. It was not enough. He got up and stomped to the kitchen workers.
“Hey! Do you have any leftover spiced cake from the hatching feast?” The kitchen worker looked him up and down once. Cr’wean scowled.
“I will check the back. One moment.” Cr’wean let out an exasperated noise and moved to lean against the counter. He felt a bit tight around his midsection, but otherwise it was no more painful than before. Soon enough, they returned. However… “I am afraid not.”
“Do you have anything spiced at all?” Cr’wean’s voice was exasperated. The kitchen worker was about to response, when their coworker pulled them aside and they talked quietly. The man grumbled under his breath while he waited.
“We might have something, but it will take a moment if you can wait.” There was a long silence while Cr’wean scowled. Eventually he spoke up.
“Fine.” He walked in a huff over toward the hearth and took a seat nearby. Then he watched kitchen intensely.

Toriath had finished her meal and was licking her chops while secretly surveying the room for potential friends for her rider. That's when this smell hit her sensitive nose. She got up and followed it wondering why it reminded her of her rider not that she was sure why. The grey bumped her nose against a boot causing her to sneeze and back away. "Mine, Why do you have smells over here? Are you trying to confuse me?"
Phoenyx looked up startled as she had just started back on her stitching when she heard her dragon. Her eyes scanned the tables only to realize that the dragon hadn't really gone far. "What do you mean smells over there?" she almost tripped out of her chair as she stood up. "Oh my shards! Toriath!!" She shouted as she thumped her hip on the edge of the table causing her to curse more. "I'm so sorry she is still new I'm not entirely sure why she went to you.. umm. sir" She murmured as she tried to figure out if she had been introduced to him after the hatching or not.
"He smells like you Mine." The young dragonet's eyes whirled with alarm as she shifted back onto her legs crying out as she felt the pain from her riders mishap. The young unusually cheerful grey was filled with worried as she trotted back to her rider to nose the wound only to feel the shotting pain thru her connection at the touch. "Sorry..." She crooned so sadly "I didn't mean to cause trouble"
Cr’wean felt something on his leg and he instinctively pulled it up out of the way. It was only after that he could see what had bumped into him. A Grey dragonet, very clearly from the most recent hatching. He hadn’t seen it previously, but its size could only be that. He frowned, but was quickly was addressed by what only could be its rider. Cr’wean finally lowered his foot and rested his arm on the chair’s arm so he could lean his head in his hand.
“I can see that. You all right?” Cr’wean’s voice was only mildly annoyed, eyeing her to see what he reaction was. It shouldn’t have been a bad bump on the table, but he asked anyway. He spared a glance for the Grey, who was now focused on their rider. He doubted the reason the dragon had come to see him was for his winning personality.
Somewhere, Kiyosh wished she could laugh. As it was, she made a little hissing ‘laughter’.

Phoenyx blushed with shame as she bent down to pick up her life partner and nuzzled into her neck crooning that she was okay. She glanced at the man "I'd nothing I'd had worse from when I had a runner. Besides nothing I can't fix with what I learned at the healer hall." Her lips turned down at that remember that she couldn't really go back to that part of her life now that she had Toriath with her nor would she ever want to. She pushed her cheek against the neck of the grey trying to hide the red cheeks. I'm sorry if we disturbed you.. for some reason she thinks you smell like me." She made a face as she glanced up at him.
"I didn't mean to run into him Mine.." the grey crooned as she turned to push her muzzle into her riders ear. Trying to apologize the best way she could only to tilt her head to peer back at the grump looking man "Maybe we should try to cheer him up?" the little one purred as her tail wiggling some at the thought.
Nyx widened her eyes and glanced down at her dragon "How do you know if he is like that or not? Don't be so quick to judge him Toriath." she reprimanded the grey and might have well put her hands on her hips if she hadn't been holding Tori at that moment. "Umm anyways would you like anything from me to make up for the mishap? I mean I don't have many marks to my name but I can cook or clean or sew something for you." her voice trailed off as she tried to think of a way to make it up to him.
Cr’wean grunted. It was really enough that she was fine. Healer hall, huh? How long had it been since he’s been there? Didn’t matter. Aerie was as good as Healer Hall, in a few key points it was better. He raised an eyebrow at mentioning his scent. Huh.
“Do dragons really follow their nose so much?” Cr’wean asked in spite of himself. He didn’t really recall Zigbrieth being like that. If he had, he expected the Blue would have said something about his smell to his face. Cyan’s dragon was like that.
When she started talking again he raised his head and stared at her frowning. He waited a moment to see if she would add anything. Nope. What was this girl going on about?
“I seriously doubt any person at the Weyr would be after your hide for a fresh dragonet bumping into them. Or Aerie as the case may be.” He eyed the kitchen again. “Just watch where you are going. Healer hall or no, if you hurt yourself bad enough I’m sure I’d be the one patching you up. That’s enough.” Cr’wean was thinking about whatever was happening in the kitchen. Unfortunately he also knew personally how long it took to whip up something he might like. After all, give him an oven and he’d do it himself.

Nyx paused and then glanced at Tori "Hmm honestly I'm not sure I haven't learned much other then she likes to eat alot and needs oiling.. I do know people keep whispering that she is awfully cheerful for her color not that I mind. " She murmured to him as her fingers rubbed her dragons foreleg. She froze and then looked him over once more "So you are the Weyr healer then?" she asked softly before snapping her fingers "Maybe its the stuff that we have worked with cause I use to work in the healer hall and your a healer."
The blonde woman shifted her dragon onto her shoulder and waist as she thought about this. "Is something amiss sir?" She still hadn't learned his name but didn't want to be rude. "Perhaps I can help if there is." She offered as she still felt bad and really didn't want to start off wrong with someone she could learn from in the future. She turned her head to look towards the kitchen as if maybe there might be a clue to what he was looking at or for.
"Darling do you fancy smells and if so whats your favorite Tori?" She asked in the way only riders could her eyes glancing back down to the grey as if the thought had been mulled over before being asked.
"hmm sweet meats... but you top them all Mine you smell sharp with underlying tones of woods like the kitchen fires almost" the grey purred before nuzzling into her riders chest. Clearing adoring the attention from her rider.
Cr’wean shrugged. She was a new Weyrling, she’d figure it out. In response to her question he pointed with the hand his head still rested on.
“No, I’m Aerie, we don’t rank in a Weyr. I take shifts both here and there though. Plus both me and Kiyosh specialize in human healing.” It was a point that often confused non Aerie folk. It made sense, before being searched he really only thought of Aerie as an attachment to a Weyr. It wasn’t really like that. Aerie ranks were their own thing, and much more fluid then the traditional Weyr. Unlike with dragons, describing your Lifewing didn’t give any indication of one’s rank, not as much. Although, personality was a different matter.
“Guess so.” He was still looking over at the kitchen every other second. Finally he was called out on it. He huffed but waited a moment before commenting on it.
“I am waiting for something to bake, I assume. I just don’t know how long it is going to take.” He sounded quite annoyed. He didn’t this sort of waiting. However, because of what he waited for, he would endure. Possibly future grumbling would be saved for after.

Aerie... what was he talking about "What do you mean Aerie? Why should you not rank in a weyr and how do you rank if not with the weyr?" she asked confused over that. She shuffled in her seat as her eyes turned to look in the same direction. "Well then maybe I can help with that.." She stood up and then turned to the grey "Toriath stay and keep him company please my dear" She murmured aloud for his sake. She turned and walked into the kitchen to find out what was going on that would cause such a wait as to annoy the healer she had been talking with her.
The grey tilted her head to look at the male and crept over to him before butting his leg gently with her muzzle as she crooned "Mine will help you shes good at that." the gray turned and sat beside the man unsure what her rider really thought she could do for the grumpy man.
Cr’wean huffed. He shouldn’t be surprised, Weyrs were so deeply ingrained in people’s minds. Aeries were relatively novel. But he could still be annoyed.
“Weyrs are where dragons live. Aeries are where Lifewings live. Just because we live in the same general area doesn’t mean they are the same. I’m a Lifewing rider, not a dragon rider.” He was about to really get into it, but she suggested that she check up on food, and really he wasn’t against that. He shrugged as she left and looked down as the Gray bumped into his leg. Well, more like nudged it. She spoke to him, but he was used to having a bonded partner so it didn’t’ startle him. He huffed again.
