"I still don't see what you're upset about," Lithena pouted, picking at the food on her plate. It looked as unappetizing that day as it had all the previous. Three sharding days in this place and they'd only just taken her to see Hrith that morning and only for a moment! She was awake and breathing. She could do both of those hideously boring things back in her weyr. But no. Healers insisting she had to stay. Take it easy. Better not to move her so far. Better to stay close where they could stare at her from a safe distance.
"Lithena you almost died," Rilora offered softly. She had already finished her lunch and her plate sat empty. It had been a mechanical sort of meal, as they all had been, but Archith's will kept her going.
"Ya, but I didn't," she recrossed her arms the other way for emphasis. It was weakly attempted. She winced with each movement that involved her shoulder.
Rilora frowned.
"Don't me mad at me!" Lithena protested.
"You know I'm not mad at you," Rilora relented. "I love you. Please try and eat something."
Lithena selected a small bite and ate it, still frowning. She hadn't died. That was what counted. To hear the responce from the guards or anyone who asked her story, they all thought she should be dead to. But here she was. It was the livelihood of Riders to almost die, and then not. Albeit against a different foe, but still! The worst of it was what it had done to her body, which was further keeping her cooped up here. And she hated it.
