A term consists of 10 sevendays of class and is followed by 2 sevendays of break between terms.
Junior Weyrling Lesson Schedule

Class Curricula for Junior Weyrlings
Beginning Between Techniques: (Taken with intermediate flight)
Sevenday 1-2: Theory and visualization (dragonet and rider)
Sevenday 3: Communication of visuals (rider to dragon)
Sevenday 4: Communication of visuals (dragon to rider)
Sevenday 5: Communication of visuals (dragon to dragon)
Sevenday 6-7: Hovering techniques (dragonet), memorization of home-visual (both)
Sevenday 8: Short trips around Weyr
Sevenday 9-10: Visits to nearby Weyrs and Holds
Dragon Care:
Month 1-2: Dragon anatomy, proper oiling and bathing procedures, proper diet, basic first aid
Month 3: Saddle and riding leather care and parts identification, bond exercises with dragon and rider
Month 4-5: First-aid procedures, medicines
Month 5-6: Ground-based exercises to strengthen wings
Month 7-8: Identifying injuries by symptoms, overview of problems caused by overexertion
Month 9-12: Review, review, review. Final talk about Flights before becoming senior weyrlings
Beginning Firestone: (Taken with intermediate flight)
Sevenday 1: Firestone facts, locations of firestone in the Weyr
Sevenday 2-8: Flaming practice (on ground)
Sevenday 9-10: Flaming practice (while flying, no rider)
Beginning Flight:
Sevenday 1: Wing anatomy, stretches
Sevenday 2-6: Short glides, gradually increasing in length (no riders)
Sevenday 7-9: Long glides (no riders)
Sevenday 10: Long glides, some short flights (no riders)
Intermediate Flight:
Sevenday 1-2: Short infrequent flights (no riders), proper take-off and landing form
Sevenday 3-4: Medium to long flights (no riders), basic evasive maneuvers
Sevenday 5-6: Long flights (gradually add weight to harness), short flights with rider
Sevenday 7-8: Medium flights (with rider)
Sevenday 10: Medium to long flights (with rider)
Physical Training:
Month 1-3: Stretching, climbing, running, pull-ups and pushups (general conditioning)
Month 4-5: Unarmed throws, blocks, basic punches, archery
Month 6-8: Knife strikes and blocks, continue to practice all prior
Month 9-10: Integration Knife and unarmed together
Month 11-12: Integration knife and unarmed, archery, conditioning

Sevenday 7: Raking attacks, grappling, dodging, beginning archery during flight
Sevenday 8-9: Archery during aerial combat, teamwork effects
Sevenday 10: Use of firestone
Aerial Maneuvers:
Sevenday 1-2: Sharper turns, improving speed changes
Sevenday 3-4: Flying upside down
Sevenday 5: Flying with wingspan perpendicular to ground
Sevenday 6-7: Corkscrews, aerial rescues, intro to flips
Sevenday 8: Flips, synchronized flight patterns
Sevenday 9-10: Double corkscrew, corkscrew-during-flip, combinations of maneuvers
Advanced Between Techniques:

Sevenday 2-4: Entering between with less than ideal clearance from ground
Sevenday 5-7: Exiting between with less than ideal clearance from ground
Sevenday 8: Other difficult betweening scenarios
Sevenday 9-10: Use of between in combat situations

Sevenday 1: Review of flight drills with both firestone and between

Hall Electives: Riders practice craft skills under appropriate tutelage at the Weyr or elsewhere. Must have senior weyrling status with adept flight and between skills.

Sevenday 7: Practice teaching/mentoring on follow students and teacher(s)
Sevenday 8-9: Assist teachers and mentors with classes and students
Sevenday 10: Continue assisting, run a class on own
Advanced Weapons Training: Enrollment by recommendation only
Month 1: Continuation of knife and unarmed integration, continue archery, basic sword-work
