Chantrea lifted a piece of meatroll to first Amp and then Zigfried as he complained. She shook her head and laughed. "Oh you two." She gently petted the smaller and lighter colored blue one, Zigfried and gave him a piece as well. "Can't you just wait your turn, Zigfried...?" she asked him irritably.
She sighed and ran a hand through her hair before leaning on her hand and watching her two blues hop down at the silent cue she gave them and start squabbling over who got what and how much of it. They hissed and got irritated with each other, soon rolling about the table as they fought with each other.
She sighed. "Break it up. Break it up already!" She plucked at them, making them turn and give an upset and apologetic croon. "You two can be such pains. Learn to get along."
Though they had been through this time and time again and it never improved. She sighed watching them hiss at each other again before clapping her hands together irritably and watching them look at her like two scared children. She bit her lip and felt a little laugh at the back of her mind. It was almost satisfying.
She grabbed her cup of klah and gently swished it around, looking at the very dark brown liquid. She still wanted to try what was known as "halk" a stronger form of klah in the far North at Ice Stone Weyr. Though... she wasn't so keen on going that far North or going north in general.
She sighed and took a drink, feeling the liquid, which by now had cooled, run down her throat. It felt nice. Although it was cooled and not warm anymore. She gave a brief sigh. It wasn't worth going to get hot klah. At least not in her mind.
Cyanee did not understand klah. She understood the concept, but the drink itself was just something she herself would never get. Still she held a mug of fresh klah in one hand and a roll in the other. She paused for a moment, looking around for somewhere to sit as the hot liquid released its fragrance. The smell was alright with her, not a pleasure but not repulsive. Still she did this every time, grabbing a mug with her meal to try to be a little more adult. Everyone else around her seemed to like it, or at least not hate it as much as she did. She hoped her brother would make a surprise visit or something so that he could drink it.
The longer she looked around the more she realized that there were no tables free. If she wanted a place she would have to find someone willing to let her sit at their table. She started moving around the tables, going past tables that were full. She spotted someone sitting alone, but for their flitters. Two blue firelizards seemed to be making some sort of fuss, but Cyan found them fascinating enough that she walked over to the girl who was their master.
Chantrea looked up and gave a slow and warm smile. "Hi. Go ahead." Amp and Zigfried looked up at Cyan and gave little cheeps of greeting, looking up at her curiously. They wanted to investigate this person who approached theirs... but... they just sat there, Amp turning his head at her curiously, Zigfried loosing interest more quickly and snapping up a piece of food before Amp could get his focus back on food.
She took another sip of the cold klah, which, personally she thought it tasted terrible cold. "Klah is quite... something, huh? It tastes horrid cold." She gave a slight shutter and a warm smile.
But she found herself looking over Cyan's shoulder and around them, though looking very bored and not at all suspicious as she did what she had always been accustomed to, aware of each person as they came and went and each person as they came and went and noted each person who may just be be threats in some way. Though.... none here seemed to be.... she could always be wrong, of course.
Amp gave another little cheap and edged closer to Cyan, looking at her with both curiosity and suspicion. He gave a small croon mixed with a hiss and came closer to her with eyes swirling apprehensively. Chan could feel the tension in her blue and gently reached out and rubbed the flit's back, making him jump suddenly and give a hiss, which soon as it turned out it was Chan who had touched him he crooned apologetically and rubbed against her hand, eyes swirling with worry, afraid that she would be angry with him, but Chan just gave a soft laughed and pulled the flitt into her arms, snuggling him gently against her chest and laughing as he seemed to start purring.
Cyan smiled, and slid into across from the other girl. She put the mug of klah in front of her, giving it a resigned look as she used her now free hand to pull the chair in. She looked at the two firelizards, her face lighting up when they chirped at her. She continued watching both of them even as one of them lost interest, even while she took a bite of the roll she was holding. She found most creatures interesting in some fashion. Even fish, which she honestly found cute. Weird for someone who was someone from a fisher hold.
"Yeah, interesting." Cyan sighed a little and looked at her steaming mug blandly. "I don't suppose you want to save me here and take that?" She pointed at the mug with a small motion, to clarify what she was talking about.
It took a moment but she saw that the other girl was looking behind her, at other people. She turned a moment to look behind her, not noticing if she had a particular target for her gaze. Of course she took the opportunity to look for her brother but he wasn't around. Huh, maybe she was bored or something? She decided to try and start a conversation then.
"So, are you waiting for someone?" She glanced back down when she spotted on of the blue flitters give a strange croon toward her. She tilted her head slightly a touch confused. She had never had a flitter, nor did she really know someone who did have one. As such the reaction from the little one confused her a little. The other girl quickly comforted it, and the blue firelizard seemed quite content after that. "They are really cute." Cyan smiled quietly as she said the words in a soft voice.
