The girl nodded to Rilora as she spoke of the pools in the area, she had a feeling that there would be plenty of time to see the beautiful nature surrounding this Weyr, once she had her own dragon to ride upon. Call her confident, she was surely going to Impress, and show that annoying brother of her's just how grown up she had become now.
"If you could tell that good-for-nothing Cirryyth to get V'ridian to bring my things, that would be appreciated. As for settling in, I think I can handle it. I just have to get my bearings right and memorize my way about this place, and then I'll be fine. Thank you very much, Miss, I hope to see you around." She grinned, and waved, knowing that she might not see her again very soon, she was a Weyrwoman after all and they did tend to be a touch busy... All the time.
She remembered meeting the Fort Weyrwoman, that had been a laugh. She wasn't able to stop walking long enough to sit, let alone think. She didn't know how those Queenriders did it, and she knew she surely wouldn't want to be in their shoes. Perhaps a Gold would happen her way, though? What would she think of that? It seemed something to dread, but it wasn't like she had a say in the matter. If a Gold wanted her, she wanted her. That was how Impression worked.
"G'day, Miss."
Tiger Cirryyth of Weyrharper V'ridian Black Sunristh of Weyrling A'kai Blood Zojiroth of Candidate Master Moraiya Lavender and her fading Starlight Fayzeth Elraishsa of the Wild Rowensae and Pscittasch Lylore the Strange Oldbies: R'nos, Felora, K'cin, S'nire(deceased)
K'nan shifted from one foot to the other. Perhaps he should just leave. It wasn't as if there was any pressing need for him to be here. It felt rude, though, to simply leave without saying anything. He looked at the other Rider. It seemed they had nothing to say to each other. K'nan gave a mental sigh and looked back towards the entrance to the Candidates Barracks.
He had known Rilora since before she had Impressed. He would never have said anything, but he had always thought her rather lovely, especially in personality. Why hadn't he said anything to her? That was a question he simply could not answer. He had been her friend, or he would like to think he had, before she Impressed... But probably not that close. But when she had Impressed and been swarmed by his fellow BronzeRiders, he knew that it would always be competing for her. It seemed like a tough spot for her and he hated to contribute to it... And yet...
K'nan shook his head, attempting to clear it.
Mine? Embraeth's mental voice, though a question, was not really askign anything of his Rider. K'nan's only response was to send soothing feelings in Embraeth's direction.
As Rilora left the barracks she was a bit surprised to find only one BronzeRider remaining. Perhaps Lavender had scared off not only the new one but also kept any new ones from showing up. Well, it was just K'nan now, and she knew him. Much more pleasant. She'd have to send M'doka...no, that wasn't quite right, a letter later.
"Weyr still in one piece, K'nan?" Rilora asked. At Rainbow Mists Weyr the question was certainly not always yes. Chaotic scuffles, things gone amiss, but it was part of normal Weyr life. And she was learning it. What frustrated her was the length of time it was taking, not the process itself. It was like having a much bigger family to care for - the Candidates and new arrivals - and a lot more friends (and suitors) to manage.
Rilora made a note to herself to drop in on Lithena. She hadn't seen her sister in a while and they were overdue for a chat.
K'nan gave a wry smile. "Well, for the most part, it seems so at this point. It has been reported that N'rim's Wingleader has already chastised him. M'kota extends his apologies for upsetting you. " He wasn't sure what else to say for the moment, but he thought about it. "It seems Lavendar will settle in quite well here."
Now that I think of it... Where is Koga? What could be keeping her?
I do not know, K'nan, but knowing here, some kind of adventure.
K'nan turned his attention to Rilora once more. "Is there anything else you would like me to do, Weyrwoman?" his tone was respectful.
Embraeth unfurled his wings where he was laying and K'nan could not help but here his draconic chuckle as the dragon sent mental images of upsetting some Firelizards who had apparently been bothering him.
K'nan resisted the urge to shake his head. Embraeth hated flitters. K'nan had found them interesting, though he didn't have much desire for one himself, if he was being honest about the topic.
It was about this point that something that was likely to bring a little more chaos into their lives happened.
The WatchDragon saw fit to inform the Weyrwoman of the caravan's arrival.
((Sorry again... for short posts... :/ Jay, I don't think I have another char, but if I have one that I could bring in, I will to interact with Lavendar...))
"No, K'nan. At ease and whatnot. It seems we've got the rest of the afternoon to finish less pressing things than keeping the Weyr in one piece. We're expecting the new Weyr Harper to finish moving in today and I'd like to meet him at dinner if not before." Rilora carried on. The list of things to do was quickly reasserting itself into her thoughts. She still wanted to see her sister. She clung to the thought and reminded herself often to keep from forgetting.
RiloraMine, the caravan is here. Archith announced sleepily.
Rilora frowned. Changing her mind, she put on a better face and looked back to K'nan. He was still there. Loyal Bronze as ever. "Caravan's here. Would you mind seeing the people to the kitchens for a round of something refreshing? I'm sure the Headwoman will be along to count it all up. Last time, I'm told, we could have been more hospitable. I'm counting on you to do something about it, K'nan." Rilora paused to think if she had forgotten anything. Nothing came to mind. "Dismissed, otherwise. I have some other business to attend to. See you at dinner, I hope."
With that the GoldRider took her leave to finish the papers she had shirked that morning to see her family. And to send M'kota a note inviting him to dinner. She was quite on top of things now.
K'nan grimaced a little. "You certainly have a lot to accomplish, Rilora. Don't forget to take a little time for yourself every now and again. Though, I could see how it would be easy to do with everything you have going on."
K'nan nodded. "I'll see that it is done right away." He smiled a little and nodded. "See you at dinner, Rilora." With that he bowed, then turned and walked towards where the caravan would be waiting. Well, he supposed things could easily become very interesting. What with all the caravan and the typical chaos that tended to ensue here. He was certain taht he would not be bored today.
Well, K'nan supposed, he really could only hope to see Rilora at dinner as there was a very good chance that she may still be busy when dinner came. However, he hoped not. She needed to eat and dinner was quite important. He was glad that he would be able to help her in this way.
