She looked utterly horrified. "A Queen?" She stammered. "Oh no I am not Queen material." She denied fervently. "You have to be a diplomat and stuff like that, be able to talk to annoying people without biting their heads off. Although I guess that's a trait that's encouraged in everyone... Still, it's definitely not a strong suit with me." She thought for a second. "I've always love how the Flames looked but they are male only." she sighed annoyed at that fact. "I guess I would have to say if I had to pick a color I like the Midnights. They blend so easily into the night, not the most flashy of colors but that suits me just fine. What about you? If you could get a King which one?" She tossed the question back at Miros knowing it was unfair since she didn't truly answer his question.

Miros thought she was being perhaps a touch modest, "I think you'd be perfect Queen material! But the Midnights are amazing aren't they? And I think that Dragon would suit you perfectly, considering..." Miros stopped short of mentioning her sneaky stealthy ways in front of K'Tar. The lad was a honourable and he would certainly report the pair of them if he found out they'd been sneaking around in the kitchens after dark. Miros instead guiltily cleared his throat and addressed Svak again, "As for me, I don't think I could Impress a King. The Bronzes and Crimsons like strong, brave young lads. I'm told I'm like my father, S'Rus, so I'd be happy to Impress a dependable Green like his Recenth" Miros paused and looked back at Viarth, "Though I have to say, to Impress a Purple like you would be an absolute honour" he added. The Dragon cocked his head slightly, his beautiful rainbow faceted eyes whirling.

Viarth opened his mouth slightly, which was the closest he could come to imitating the human grin of His. He crooned slightly, happy to be admired.
“Uh, oh,” K’tar said, “I think you’ve just become Viarth’s eternal friend. Next he’ll want you to come exploring with us.” He hesitated, then continued: “What about a Black? They blend in well, and Miros, I think you’d make a great Kingrider, though everyone says there’s not likely going to be any Kings in this current Clutch.”
They reached the Weyrbowl as K’tar finished, so he and Viarth both dashed forward, so that they were level with the other two, Viarth on the outside, because that way K’tar wouldn’t have to talk around him.
Svak had never heard a dragon croon before. It was a lovely sound and she turned her head around to get a better look at the weyrling. She burst out laughing at his rather good impersonation of a smile. Toothy smiles are the best she decided.
"Where do you explore? Do you go to the Jungle a lot? I've always wondered if a Jungle is like a Forest or not." She suddenly thought of another question that she had often wondered. "What do most dragons think of firelizards? I know some don't like them at all but some are rather fond of them I've heard."

Miros couldn't help but feel a little prideful at K'Tar's compliment. He would be lying if he said he hadn't thought about impressing a Bronze or Crimson or any other King. He just wasn't sure if he actually could. As for a Black, now that would be amazing indeed! "A black would be a most noble and beautiful Dragon to impress" Miros said, but caught the slightly hurt look that flashed across Viarth's face, "Having said that a Purple would be even better, though no Purple's hide could match Viarth's in it's beauty" Miros added casually, pretending not to have noticed the Dragon's change of mood. The compliment seemed to work however, as Viarth raised his head, his eyes sparkling and alight with joy. He once again opened his jaws in that wonderful facsimile of a human grin and trotted happily along with them. Miros made a mental note to be not quite as appreciative of other Dragons around the young Viarth. The group once again entered the Weyr and it was K'Tar who pulled slightly ahead to lead the way. Miros was glad as the Weyr was still very crowded. The throngs of people parted eagerly to allow the passage of K'Tar and Viarth and their friends.

K’tar resisted the urge to start singing a marching song, but only barely. It didn’t help that Viarth was swishing his tail in time to their steps, which, he was convinced, the “little” Purple was well aware of.
Would I do something like that? Viarth asked with fake innocence.
Yes.
Viarth’s only response was to tap his tail against the ground, the same way that a conductor might tap their baton on the podium to call musicians to order. Fortunately for K’tar’s public face, they reached the Hatching Sands before the temptation to start singing grew to be too much.
On three, one two, three!
K’tar and Viarth stepped apart, so that the clutch on the Sands was suddenly visible.
“May we present, the eggs!” K’tar said, in a voice used for making grand announcements.

Miros drew in an awed breath despite himself. He had seen two previous clutches, but there was still that palpable excitement connected with the time of Hatching. Miros took a tentative step onto the sands, surveying the myriad glistening shells. A snort from above alerted him to the presence of their mother. He looked up at Ayleneth, the stunning Aurora Queen on her perch. Though her pose was that of a resting Dragon, her eyes were alert and bright. She would tolerate their presence...as long as they came no nearer her eggs. Miros bowed respectfully to her and then peered again at the clutch. He was not feeling any instinctual pulls to any egg in particular, but he did note the variances in size and mottling of the shells. He would make no predictions as to colours or genders though, just so as not to jinx anything. Miros turned to Svak, "What do you think?" He beamed happily at her.
She just stared dumbstruck at the eggs and the Queen herself. The eggs seemed to glow from the inside, the light playing tricks on the shells. She imagined each orb held a life pulsating with power that lay dormant until the hums of their elders woke them from their deep slumber. Then they would break free of their comforting eggs now turned capture and find Theirs. The presence of their mother the Queen Aurora shone like her namesake attached to a physical being, the sunlight leaping across her muscles as she shifted positions to better keep and eye on them and her eggs.
"They are amazing" she managed to whisper.

Miros grinned at both K'Tar and Svak, "I can't wait for the Hatching!" he enthused, looking again at the amazing clutch before him. He was determined to Impress a Dragon this time, there was just no way he wouldn't! He turned to look again at Svak, but her attention was firmly on the eggs. What if she didn't Impress? Miros didn't like to think that his friend would be left standing, but it had happened to him before...he banished those negative thoughts. She would definitely Impress! And perhaps even a Queen? He thought she would make a magnificent Weyrwoman one day, her own Queen presiding over a clutch of eggs for future Dragonriders. Viarth gave a yawn suddenly, punctuating his thoughts. Miros chuckled at the Dragon's affectionate nuzzling of his rider, trying to encourage him to do something. Miros guessed it had something to do with food.

Without warning, K’tar laughed. It was probably because he was privy to Viarth’s plaintive statement that eggs were all very interesting and such, but that he, Viarth, was more so, and was hungry besides.
Ok, ok. I guess you probably do need food after all those lessons.
Viarth nodded emphatically, making K’tar laugh again.
“Ok, so Viarth swears he’s starving, so we’re off to the butchery for raw herdbeast. You can come if you want, but it’s a bloody mess most of the time.” Placing his hand on Viarth’s shoulder, K’tar stepped away, towards the Weyrling barracks.

Miros turned to Svak, "Do you want to go with them? I wouldn't blame you if you'd prefer to sit it out for now. No offence to the Dragons, but their appetites are voracious and they need a lot of freshly slaughtered meat" Miros said. The Queen on her ledge gave a most imperious and offended snort, puffing hot air across the Hatching chamber at the lad. Miros turned a sheepish grin towards her, "Of course a beauty such as yourself has only the most delicate of appetites" he assured her. She wasn't entirely impressed with this apology, but she did turn her attention back to her clutch, "So Svak, what do you say?" Miros asked his friend.
"Lets let them eat in peace. Hopefully I'll know all about that place soon." She waves at the Violet and his rider. "It was nice meeting you! I'm sure we'll bump into each other sometime soon."
She turned to Miros "So whats next?" she asked eagerly. "You have anywhere you need to go or still free for the rest of the day?"

Turning around at the sound of Svak’s voice, K’tar waved, walking backwards alongside Viarth long enough to reply: “Nice meeting you too! We probably will. If nothing else, I’ll see you both at the Hatching for sure!”

Miros waved to K'Tar, vowing he would encounter him again before the Hatching took place. He turned back to Svak and smiled, "Well I suppose I could show you the beach? Many Riders go there so their Dragons can have a swim. Some of the Dragons like to pretend they are dignified and refined, but when they get into the sea, they do love to frolic" Miros giggled behind his hand.
Svak laughed trying to imagine the big dragons splashing in the waves. "That sounds awesome i can't imagine that" She looked up at the Queen one more time and wondered if even she liked the feel of waves every now and then. "Lead the way my fellow tour guide!" She said looking back at Miros. "We are bound for adventure and we shall surely find it or it will find us, such is our fate" She dramatically posed while giving her overly dramatic dialog prepared for the beach and the new things to be seen.
