73.11.15 Evening
It had been a long day at Watch today for some reason and he was tired and just wanted to sleep. He walked through the market the bustle and noises lost on his tired dull senses. Verith was already sleeping sound not waiting for his rider who though exhausted was a little hungry too. He found a stall of Red Fruit and bought two the fist sized fruit was all he needed for now. He looked up and froze mid-stretch his mouth still open from yawning. Brencis Kalarn the Lord Holder of Icy Caverns and the last person Sk'ar wanted to see much less try to have a civil conversation with at the moment. He sensed Verith roll over.
Now be nice Mine he's not that bad.
Never said he was. We just don't see eye to eye on most things and talking to him is a strain on a good day. When I'm not about to fall over for bein' so darn tired.
He looked around and spotted a small dark alleyway and slunk into it melting out of the crowds and avoiding the Lord Holders notice. He knew he should be cordial and speak with Kalarn more often than what was absolutely necessary. But he had a sneaky suspicion that Brencis felt just as mutual about him as he did the Lord Holder. Win win right?
He slumped through the alleyway looking for the main road. He knew these back roads probably better than he should because he did so much avoiding of people. The were just a pain to talk to and most didn't even understand what he was saying or that a joke was just that. A joke. He grumbled about stuffy formalities and that people should just get to the point instead of beating around the bush so to say. He turned a corner and looked out onto another section of the market place and sighed. Someone else he didn't want to talk to. He slumped down and sprawled out leaning against the wall and looking out over the crowed waiting for the man to leave. Today just wasn't his day was it?
His vision was blocked by someone sneaking into the alleyway, back to him and peering out earnestly into the market place. He broke out in a grin. Someone he didn't have to run away from every time he spotted her. He had stumbled into Era Trevon one day doing exactly what he was doing now. Slipping away from the notice of someone. He had walked into her exploring some unknown sector of the Hold. After having assured her he wasn't the Watch come to hunt her down for pestering locals with her questions they had become fast friends. Her torrent of questions directing onto himself. He didn't mind though and Verith loved the attention. He just seemed to soak up all her questions like a sponge.
She was backing up now just about assured her angry target had lost sight of her and given up his hunt satisfied she was gone.
“Now what did I say about incessantly pestering people ehy?” He said with a grin biting into the Red Fruit.
