Name: X’sias (Xossias)
Pronunciation: Sigh-us
Gender: Male
Age: 26 Turns
Turnday: 02.26.3047
Weyr: Rainbow Mists Weyr
Rank: Dragonrider
Adoption? : Never Ever. Thanks
Appearance: This man can best be described as a giant. He stands at about 6'5 and easily towers over many in the Weyr. As if his size isn't enough to make wandering eyes lock onto him, X'sias has an unusual dress code. Due to a freak accident as described in his history, a very large and vicious scar adorns his head like a halo. It couldn't be one of those nice battle scars. Nope, it was big and seemed to be trying to escape his person. So because of all the unwanted stares and whispers, X'sias has taken it upon himself to just hide the repulsive sight from view. The people don't want to look at it? Wish granted. Also due to the scar, hair no longer grows from X'sias' head. His eyes are the normal deep brown to compliment his dark skin tone but seem to be able to captivate some people. He always has this genuine concern or interest for whomever he is speaking to, and some people note that they can see it in his eyes.
Personality: X’sias is one of those guys that although he likes to keep to himself, he is not shy at all. He just prefers the company of silence (and his dragon of course) rather than the hustle and bustle of the Weyr. He is in no way an introvert or a loner…but people need to understand that X’sias is not going to go out of his way to be social. If you need a problem fixed, X’sias is the one to go to. That small task may prove a bit difficult, however, seeing as this man is always alert and on the move. But try him, he seems to be able to solve about any question posed to him in record time.
History:
The life X'sias led before he Impressed was dull to say the least. Born to a family of Herders, his days were chock full of working in the fields with the dumb beasts. Yet he never complained once and always did as he was told. Every time he did go out of line a beating was sure to follow suit. So it was just easier to be a good little Herder boy. Then a momentous day arrived when a Searchrider picked him out of the bunch. X'sias won't lie when he says that day was a miracle. However, soon after the fact he attended a Hatching at Igen Weyr that would change his life rather drastically.
*A GLIMPSE OF THE PAST*
A chilling silence filled the area, no one dared to move. It could only be described as suffocating it was that thick. ‘Creepy.’ Even that thought in Xossias’ head seemed extremely loud; so much so that his head instinctively looked around to see if anyone had noticed. No one had, of course.
Today was the day of the Hatching. And Xossias was in it. Not that he was complaining, mind you. He found it rather amusing to see his usually obnoxious cohorts in such a state of shock and anticipation. It did not suit them. He was broken out of his reverie at the sound of a crack. His head whipped up and instantly located the source. An egg on the Sands was beginning to wobble back and forth, chips of egg breaking off. Finally an arm, a leg, a tip of the nose…the first dragonet was ready to be Impressed.
Alas, the first was not to be his. Neither was the second or third or fourth. When it got down to be the last five eggs Xossias had at that point given up on the thought of Impression. He closed his eyes and tilted his head back a bit to absorb the sun’s rays. 'I wish I was a plant.' Thus was his train of thoughts as he continued to stand on the Sands, no longer mindful of the activities going on around him.
That was when it happened. He would later not recall ever even hearing the bloodthirsty dragonet as it charged him from behind. Luckily, the creature only knocked Xossias down first instead of taking a huge chunk of his leg as was becoming a seemingly common occurrence these days. He had enough time to roll away and onto his back before the dragon snapped his jaws at him once more. He was not fast enough for the next attack and so braced himself for his fate. It did not come.
A Brown dragonling had just finished breaking out of his shell at the start of the horrendous exchange. The young dragon immediately sensed the presence of his Intended and the panic that was evident through the bond. It stumbled out of the remaining bits of egg with a war cry and rammed its head into that of its vicious clutchsister. It was after this event that Xossias opened his eyes. He quickly turned his head to see the two dragons rolling around on the Sands. If the situation were not so dire, he would have thought it almost comical; what with the pieces of egg shell flying in all directions. But as it was he could not believe that another dragon was trying to tear apart his bonded. Just when he discovered the young Brown was his, he did not know.
Xossias did not give it a second thought. He jumped into the array and tried to pull the offending Copper off of his dragon. ‘Figures it was a Copper’ he momentarily noted. The Brown did not notice the candidate’s arrival, however, and aimed a sharp bite at the other dragonet. It never met its target. Instead the sharp tang of his Mine’s blood touched his tongue and the rather large hatchling froze. He had accidentally bit the top of Xossias’ head, blood beginning to flow freely from the wound as the man lay where he had fallen.
//Hang on Mine! Your Tserynth will help you! //
Those were the last words Xossias heard before the darkness claimed him. The days following became a blur to him, but a pleasant blur nonetheless. He had his Tserynth now and all was well. The healers had managed to fix him up pretty good, but there was one problem. He would carry a scar on the top of his head for the rest of his life. It wasn’t even a pretty battle scar, it was ugly and jagged and seemed to jump off of his head. People began to stare. That was the start of Xossias’ white hood trend and his motivation to transfer to another weyr. After talking to the Weyrleaders and filling out papers, he began his journey to a new home in Rainbow Mists Weyr.
*END GLIMPSE*
Dragon's Name: Tserynth
Pronunciation: Sare-inth
Dragon's Gender: Male
Dragon's Age: 10 Turns
Dragon's Color: Brown
Dragon's Appearance: Tserynth is quite large for a Brown, which came in handy at the time of his Hatching. Had he not been who could say where they would be today? Yet he is not larger than a King, coming only to about the smallest of them.
Dragon's Personality: Like X’sias, Tserynth tends to be more serious than playful. He’ll admit he has his moments. What Brown doesn’t? But it was that first moment of his life that caused such a wise disposition to be taken on by one so young. Tserynth takes each day as it comes and tries to enjoy it while he can.
