Late Afternoon | Weyrling Communal Area | Turnover's Eve, 3073
Since discovering that Tivax—T’vax shardit!—shared his Turnday with a very special holiday, celebrated throughout the whole of Pern, Dav had been giddy with the prospect of throwing a Turnday celebration for the Chrome Weyrling. A surprise, Turnday celebration! Though with the way the Weyr passed about gossip it wasn’t likely to remain that way, try as she might to keep it from T’vax. Then there had been the Hatching and Impression of Niekolgoth that had taken up much her time, yet the Purple-Grey was surprisingly eager to participate in the plans…most of the time anyway.
But since Impression, Davquil had spent a large amount of her time that wasn’t spent taking care of her derpy little dragon, poking and pestering her fellow Weyrlings until she’d gotten as many of them as she possibly could to agree to participate in the party. It was going to be wonderful. She’d somehow managed to sweet talk Korvalia of Moonlight Korinanth to agree to help with the sweets and other foods—as she was apparently a decent cook or knew those that were.
Because she’d had so much to do between Niekolgoth and planning the event, she hadn’t had much time to actually spend with T’vax and he was certainly clever enough to realize that something was being planned or that something was wrong. Either way, she’d fluttered around like a deranged flitt while another of the Weyrlings distracted her friend so that she could set up the communal chamber with decorations and tables to hold the food.
Of course Niekolgoth, rarely far from Dav, had decided to try to help though really he only managed to hinder the process—not that Dav said anything about it, she was just glad that he was happy—more than help. Currently he was “inspecting” the cake, his tail twitching and dancing behind him as his eyes swirled merrily.
How did they make this, Davquil? It smells nice. And all the meat…why do you cook it? I like it when it’s still squishy.
His voice was cheerful as he stretched his neck, lifting a grey foot to try and get closer. Setting down the tray of meatrolls she’d just brought in from the kitchens, Dav hurried over to the sweet table and pushed the cake closer to the center of the table and redirected Niekolgoth’s attention. ”Why don’t you make sure that no one is hiding in their rooms thinking they can get away without attending. Remember, love. Be firm!”
She knew that the poor dear had a tendency to get a bit intimidated by the more forthright of his siblings, and even other riders but she did her best to bolster the little male’s confidence and much of the time it worked. Thinking this was a fantastic job, the Purple-Grey set off down the hall, calling out to all of the weyrling dragonets.
Time for the party, everyone. Make sure you get here before Slinesteth’s rider or the surprise will be ruined!
((Feel free to have your character already here helping, or have them arrive before T'vax...or after. Also, you don't have to be a weyrling for this as Dav would probably invite anyone she ran into))
