The wind clipped past the Starlight Dragoness's wings bringing with it swirls of snow and ice. The Rider pulled her wherhide coat tighter about her shoulders,
OstaraMine, I think this cold is drying out my hide the Dragoness complained. Her Rider chuckled,
"We're almost there Stelmarith!" she cried over the sound of the wind. The cold was bracing, but the Starlight Rider wasn't sure how long she'd enjoy it. The lifemates circled down in a delicate spiral towards the Weyr below, Ice Stone Weyr. The Watchrider bellowed a welcome and Stelmarith answered with a bugle. As they alighted on the ledge, Ostara was already loosening her riding straps and sliding off her Dragon's neck. She patted her golden speckled shoulder affectionately,
"How about you go and find a ledge to stretch out on?" she suggested. Her Starlight Dragon nuzzled her briefly before she sprang up onto one of the stone shelves to rest. Ostara then strode off in search of the Weyrleaders. As their newest transfer rider, she wanted to jump straight into her duties! She encountered a few people and they seemed friendly enough to her, so she was heartened in her decision to transfer. This was where the action was! Ostara reached the Weyrleader's Weyr, only to nearly collide with another Rider coming the other way. She was about to apologise, but the stranger cut her off,
"Hmmph, watch where you're going. I don't know how they get by without using their eyes at Rainbow Mists" sneered the tall, brown haired man. His Rider's knots identified him as an Ice King Rider, but Ostara was too irritated to register it at that moment,
"Let me guess, you're the grumpy one right?" she said sarcastically. The Kingrider's eyes narrowed,
"And you're the perky idealist I suppose" he answered, before he turned and strode away. Ostara shook her head in disbelief. Despite that rather cold welcome, she hoped to make some friends some friends soon.
Se'KtMine, why are you so angry? Epsilith asked his lifemate. Se'Kt shook his head,
I will never trust them, you know that and he offered no more explanation.
