Hey guys. I'm new& a bit overwhelmed/confused. Lol. I don't know TOO much about DROP, but I'm super interested and did read a bit of it. I read the plot on here too and know the basics. Are there threads here that we have to protect the weyr from? I guess I just need to know how to get started

As to getting started... it depends on how much you want to get into all at once. If you want to ease yourself in, my suggestion would be to make a Candidate (particularly since there is a Hatching coming up soon-ish) and just start RPing. If you'd like a little more to jump into as far as back-writing friendships and enemy-hoods, I'd suggest making a rider to go with one of the adoptable weyrlings. If you want a hand with plotting immediately, you can check out the Needed Characters page and make something listed on it. Candidates are always my favorite to start with, but that's just me .

You've read up on the plots, which is great! There's a little more current information in the most recent newsletter, Looped In #7. So Rainbow Mists is coping with the sporadic murders that keep popping up and Ice Stone is trying to manage its risky relations with Icy Caverns Hold and its group of anit-Silverlight extremists.

I'll second what Ghost said about how much reading you want to do before starting. For the fastest start, join as a Candidate new to the area and for the most instant connections, I'd recommending jumping into a weyrling class (or any Wing is the next most connected).
