Appearance:
Although she only stands at about five foot, one inch, Kaimana seems to be much taller due to the fact that she is extremely slender - almost too slender. Her face is heart shaped with highly defined angles and high cheekbones, which are on the more prominent side. Her brown eyes are also rather angular in shape and rather well defined, though not particularly large in comparison to the rest of her features. She personally believes them to be one of her best features, though not all may agree. Her black hair has a slight curl to it, which is only helped by the layered cut in which she has it. Her bangs are relatively straight, but may give a natural curve. Her usual braid is loose with many pieces falling where they please.
She always carries herself with considerable grace and a force of will that some would find odd in such a slender, wraith like young woman. She is a dancer and a musician, and it likely shows in the way she holds herself. There is a sense of pride about her that some might find intriguing or regal. Her fingers are slender and long, ideal for playing an instrument. Her lips are full and set beneath a small nose. Her ears are small, though primarily hidden by her hair as she is rather self-conscious of them. They are angled, small, and curled back slightly towards her head. She, herself, considers them odd and leaf shaped, though, in all honestly they are not anything to be worried over. She is not what one would consider to be a shapely woman, though she is alright with that.
Kai will most commonly seen wearing paler colors, blues, greens, even pinks. She most commonly wears pants and a rather modest tunic... unless she is dancing, in which case she is often in costume. For gathers, she will wear dresses which are generally bright and festive colors. Most often, these are lightweight and made of light fabrics that will move with her as she dances or something of that sort. She is rather accustomed to the finery of them, though others may not be as much so.

That's right. Kai is one mixed up person when it comes to her personality. She is both the kind, sweet, gentle and patient kind that you might envision working with children as well as the prideful, arrogant, rather self-centered perfectionist girl that you may envision someone with her particular looks and relatively pampered upbringing to be. Kai is often described as childish and the fact of the matter is that.... a lot of the time she is. She has a tendency to become over excited very easily with a great exuberance of energy that few could ever rival. Especially when she becomes excited.
She loves to play with children and teach. That has probably been the very best part of becoming a journeyman. Traveling and teaching, though she has not been to many Holds as of yet.
She always has a great deal of pride in herself, her accomplishments and what she does. Perhaps rightly so at times as she is a perfectionist and is very exacting in her own work. However, this can become a very negative thing... both for herself and those around her because they may fall pray to her irritation and her generally well controlled temper if they should not put in the effort or achieve a desired task to her standard. Which is always a high standard. This is likely her greatest weakness in teaching, though with the younger children, she often does not expect as much of them simply for the fact they are younger.
Her arrogance and vanity have often gotten her into trouble as she can not take an insult well. However, because her temper is so well controlled, it is usually in bouts of depression that such things manifest themselves, though they are often short lived. Her big head has gotten her into trouble more than a few times as she has a habit of thinking much more of herself and what she does than she really should. She is decidedly one to watch out for as she will trip over herself and her own words often if her head should ever become swelled.
However, despite all her flaws, she has a tendency to be very gentle and caring of others... so long as it doesn't come back to trample on her own ego that is. Otherwise, you may be trying her patience and she may just leave you high and dry. Her ability to see when someone is in need and ability to stick out what may come in such cases has been a good thing in the past, though she would never admit that her own pride and vanity gets a bit of a boost from it... especially when people notice. She wants things to be better, yes, primarily for coming generations, but to save the world? She isn't going to be the one out there doing it... not without an added push.

Personality/Appearance
Fancy is a very brightly colored green of all kind of vibrant hues and random markings. Her wings are long and slender and made for flying fast and fast maneuvers. She has darker green stripes along her back and paws that looked like they have been dipped in a lime green paint.
She is hyper, flirtatious, and a trouble maker. But she loves her Kaimana more than the world. She will do anything except shut up for Kai when asked. Fancy is everywhere always. She hates to give in to anyone, even a queen. She doesn't like being around dragons because dragons, to her, just seem to think they are so much better than her. And it isn't true. She is the best.

History:
Twenty turns ago, Korim gave birth to her youngest daughter while she and her husband resided at Golden Flight Hold. Though they soon transferred to the Western Hall shortly after its beginning.
Kai was a lovely little girl who was, from the get-go, a bit on the too slender side. It was worrisome for Korim. Her other children had been mostly healthy. She had always dreaded having a baby with any serious kind of sickness as her sister had, which, in the end, had killed both mother and child. Though she never had said a word to anyone... She only hoped that her youngest daughter would grow to be healthy. Her daughter's ears... she always had thought them odd. Too small and too curved for her liking. Korim always wanted perfection and, well, to her... they just weren't perfect. It was probably Korim that first planted that seed of insecurity about her ears in Kai's head. It was probably her mother's own insecurity with the idea that her babies were not entirely perfect by her standards that brought about Kai's habit to hide her ears as her mother would often cover them for her or tell her to as she grew.
At any rate, her father doted on her and spoiled her to no end... and expected much from her. He was a Master Harper and he expected her to achieve as a Harper as well. However, when she was young, his gentle teaching likely instilled her love of music in her, allowing it to grow and blossom; dancing soon followed suit. It was also most likely her father who instilled her prideful and arrogant nature as he fed to her the ideas of how great she was. He was never harsh, exacting or necessarily a perfectionist, but her mother most certainly was. Her parents were so different from each other, but they both loved her in their own way.
She grew and she learned, and she did rather well. Though it was the dancing that she truly loved, more than the music, more than the singing, and even more than the playing. It was somewhat dismaying to her father as he didn't much care for dancing himself, but he loved her anyways. As for her mother, as long as she was one of the best at something, anything at all, she really didn't care what it was in all honesty. As long as she tried to be perfect. As long as she was exacting in her training and in everything else that was related.
When she did not walk the tables earlier, her mother was not very happy with her and the girl did not understand. She was sixteen at the time. It was still Turns earlier than most and her mother was angry at her for some reason that she could not fathom... She wanted a wonder child who could be better than any other. But that was not Kai. Her father was the one that supported her and took the time to support her, telling her things were alright. But to her mother, "alright" was never good enough. It wasn't any fault of Kaimana's. She did her best.
She worked hard, very hard. She had to make her mother proud. She had to be the best she could be... And she walked the tables at the normal age of eighteen Turns. This was the first time she truly started to travel outside the hall on orders from them for her first assignment. And it was an eye-opener for her. It was also a window to some of her other traits that she had rarely experienced with the other apprentices at the hall. She had always enjoyed playing with the others growing up and looking after some of them.. but that didn't mean a whole lot as compared to when she started to teach them... and when she left shortly after that.
Her mother wasn't overjoyed, nor her father that already she had been given an assignment, something she had craved. She left with no goodbyes to her family, though truly, she thought little of it. While she was with a caravan, she was lucky enough to have a few marks for a green flitter egg that one of the Trader's was selling at their first stop. She named her Fancy when she hatched and even now they have continued their adventures... Now they are at the Weyr after Kai was searched while on assignment at Cliff Side Sea Hold, something that she felt the need to ask the Hall permission to do, which they reluctantly granted her.
Perhaps Kai will be able to achieve one of her dreams, one of her goals? To become a Weyrharper, or, perhaps... a dragon rider? Though she much rather achieve both.
