Appearance: T'ran, like all members of his family, is possessed of incredibly good looks, with a ruggedness from his wilder ancestry showing as well. Darkly tanned skin is almost bronze in coloration from so much time spent outside. His hair is thick, and a rich blond, tainted only slightly with reddish tones, hanging to his shoulders in wild waves. His eyes are playful, yet determined and the pale, icy tone was inherited from his mother's genes. Standing at 6'3", he is average for his family, with the typical, broad-muscled shoulders, sleek waist and long legs on that. His mother's genes are strong, and his musculature proves it, well toned and sharply defined, especially across his chest and back. He is typically found around the runners, having spent his earliest days among them when his parents visited the Clan's ancestral home, and so generally smells of runnerflesh, hay and manure. His clothing is sturdy, serviceable leathers and good hide boots.
Personality: He is strong-willed, determined and HIGHLY protective of what he considers his. This includes the Weyr, and due to this, he was 'recruited' as a Watch-Wher Candidate by the Southern Wher-Handlers, though he has since come to love Rainbow Mists, giving it his devotion and loyalty. He has his gentler side as well, but for the most part, one is advised not to anger this man, for he possesses the fiery temper of his bloodlines. He is slow to anger, but once there, he is slow to cool as well, usually taking several hours to forget, if not necessarily forgive, an insult to himself. An insult to his family, his friends or the Weyr causes an immediate lashing out, usually in the form of a fist or verbal dagger, and he tends to strike with precision, unless he doesn't know the insulter well. He doesn't hold grudges though, seeing them as a waste of his time.
His experience with females is not limited to just drudges and cavernwomen, despite his mere twenty Turns, for his looks draw attention. He is possessive of his female(whoever it happens to be at the time) and will protect all of those he has been with with his life. Women in his family are treasured, to be pampered and spoiled rotten, and should anyone raise a hand against them they are in danger of losing their life. That is the one thing he cannot stand, is a man who would abuse a member of the fairer gender. Some might say that his own promiscuity is a form of abuse, but he only lies with women who understand that he is not one for permanance, and who are willing to let go of him while still retaining mutual respect and friendship.
He does LIKE the Watch-Whers he's met and become familiar with, and the species as a whole intrigues him, enough so that he is quite happy now not having Bonded to a Dragon, although he is also highly impatient to Bond to a Wher should the opportunity ever come his way.
When it did, he didn't take it, not wishing to potentially torment the little one wishing to Bond to him. This eventually led to the ODDEST circumstance for him, Bonding to the HIGHLY feminine Shaleth, although he loves her deeply, as only a rider can.
History: Born into a family of highly passionate and family-oriented people, T'ran never lacked for someone to pay attention to him and play with him as a child. He is named for his Great-Great-Grandsire, and has been told by those who knew the man that he can, at times, act just like him, overprotective and caring, but with an understanding of when to stop. He grew up living his life in both the Weyr of his Woodrider mother(Southern) and the Hold of his Family(placed near Keroon, but not necessarily as well known for its runnerbeasts), and was always around SOMEONE who loved him in some way.
As he aged, he became familiar with the riding of both dragon and runnerbeast, though only as a passenger on the great winged beasts, and proved able to shift between the two with no problems, due to their similarities in build, if not size. At the age of twelve, he was riding the racing mares bred by his great-Uncle Teker, which gave him a past-time other than playing and hunting with his cousins that his family saw as "safer" if not necessarily truly so. He was thirteen before he ever rode a stallion, and it was then he also began learning about the breeding aspect of the family's combined passion for runners.
When he was fifteen, he Stood on the Sands of Southern Weyr at a Green's suggestion, but was passed over and left alone, which left his normally inperturbable spirit disturbed. Why had he failed? Failure was not normally an option, and he couldn't understand why it should have happened. There were riders in his family after all, heck his Great-Grandfather rode a BRONZE. Why should he be left Standing? That disturbance to his Jorashi sense of pride had him wandering one night by himself, and he was found by one of the WherHandlers as they were running their shift. They offered to let him come along when he expressed curiosity in the Dragons' night-time cousin, and he walked their 'beat' with them, and enjoyed it immensely.
After that, he started adjusting his schedule, sleeping during the day and coming awake at night to wander with his newest friend and her companion, who came to like him as well. His family noticed the change, but didn't wonder at it, for he was at the age where the males of the family tended to start showing their truest strengths and independences and going their own way. This did strain the relationship he was in at the time, and eventually ended it, though it was done mutually.
And so it went, with T'ran walking the night with the woman and her Wher. One night, when he was 19, trouble actually came, in the form of bandits attempting a stealth raid, and T'ran fought for the Weyr as fiercely as the WherHandler and Her's. Once the bandits had been either driven off or killed, she essentially 'recruited' him, asking him to be a Wher Candidate. He already knew all the 'beats' knew all the Handlers and their Whers, all of whom liked him, as did their sometimes tempermental beasts. He accepted the offer, but no Clutch ever came up to Hatching when he was actually AT Southern Weyr, always seeming to show up when he was away and unable to return in time.
Southern has heard of RMW's need for Handlers, and, hoping to help, they sent the now 20 Turn old Terran as a Candidate for future Wher Clutches that might come to RMW's caves. Little does he know, Fate is coming up on him faster than he thinks..... A Wher Clutch was present when he returned from a visit to his family, but he ended up not Bonding, due to the Wher attempting to choose him being a female one. This led to him being Unbonded and still available for any Wher who might come along next.
But that was not to be his fate. When the Hatching of Wood Orylth and Cloud Quioroth came around, he was present if only to watch and look on to see who would be added to the ranks of the Weyrlings. It took quite awhile, one of the Hatchlings being slow in their choice, But when it came, was T'ran in for a shock, The voice, and the emotions that came with it, came to him, his mind, his heart, and he found himself running onto the Sands in response to the call of a very FEMALE and very FEMININE White, the exact opposite of himself, but perfect for him in every way.
Adoption?: No
Name: Shaleth
Hue: White
Appearance: A striking beauty, with a snowy white hide toned with shades of pink and green that shimmer and slide along her when she walks. She is lithe, VERY slender and delicate, very much the female. Her wings are large, seemingly inherited from her Cloud sire, and tend to get in her way when she walks right now, but she has been assured this won't last.
Personality: VERY feminine, she loves romantic stories, and will constantly ply her rider with requests for love stories with a happy ending. She is a girly girl, most assuredly, with a very female love for shiny things, leading her to be a bit of magpie...
