Well, that's cause I want to still be in the Pern fandom. If I wanted to go out into our own I'd suggest we build some grand world and then I'd write a book, dedicate it to you, then we'd go on tour and make tons of money.

Hey I wouldn't be very upset with that. In fact I wouldn't even care about money lol, I'm not materialistic, coming from a rather spartan upbringing. I love creating new worlds.
It's fantastic, I do it every day.

xD I was mostly wanting to make a 'senses tingling' joke. And I'm glad I did, too.

So, an update on the science thread. This was an excerpt from a post I made a couple months ago in my other Weyr, addressing the Western Continent and what science might dictate it be like:
"I've been doing a bit of research, and as far as Pern goes, it tends to follow most Earthly patterns of plate tectonics and climate conditions, save for it's overly large gravitational forces that are being exerted by it's two moons as opposed to the single one of Earth.
This causes the tropical climate of the South as well as it's overactive volcanic clusters.
If the West were explored, it is likely that (since as far as I can tell) it's southern tip is much the same story, possibly forming a "ring of fire" with the northwestern area of the Southern continent. The northern regions of the West would be similar to the temperate Northern Continent, though the adjoining area between the two zones might be desertlike as it hits Pern's equator. Since grubs from the Southern Continent spread to the North periodically before being eradicated by the idiot Northerners, it's safe to say that there would be a thriving population of Thread-eating grubs to preserve life. In fact, since it was largely untouched by humans, the amount of fire-lizards found here would be in excess of those anywhere else on Pern, as well as the northern regions likely would have boreal forests the likes of which aren't found anywhere else. The Northern continent is mostly shield rock, which accounts for the fact there is a distinct lack of trees, save for certain areas. The moon's effect on the West would be such that it wouldn't have as widespread areas of bedrock, the tectonic forces being somewhere in between South and North. The eastern seaside of the Continent likely would be lacking in trees while the far western would have exploded in massive forests on the northern side, with plains and grasslands in between that and swamps that sweep around the central desert and connect to the jungles. In the oceans based off what I know of tectonics and the conditions of the Southern Sea, it is possible there is an abyssal trench between the West and South, which would create a diverse population of deep-sea life, some of which could possibly be fished up by fishermen. This stuff would look REALLY weird, considering even on Earth it looks far stranger than even dragons would.
On top of indigenous fire-lizard populations in excess, there may be mutations or all together new creatures that evolved here. However, the colonist-introduced species of flora and fauna would not exist here at all, save for birds or fish, so those would only be found on the North and South continents.
All together, this place would be quite alien, even to the Pernese."
Thoughts, opinions, corrections of my logic all welcome!
