"It's an outrage, really. A true monstrosity!"
Ragnar gave a small nod at the words followed by a soft murmur of 'uh-huh.' His sister was ranting once again, going off about one thing that had set her off or another. And once again, like he often did when Garna was in a rage and no one else was there, he was zoning off. He loved his sister, he relied on his sister, he would obey his sister and follow her through thick and thin. But shards, there was only so much untamed rage that one guy could take! And after her half-hour long fit over someone that had accidentally knocked her over and having to convince her not to run after him and tan his hide he had had all that he could handle for a while.
Thankfully her newest rant happened to take place at the beach. That meant he could stand up, skip some stones, and ignore the storm of pure fury that took the form of his sister at times. A small smile crossed his face when he got a stone to do seven skips. That was a new record her him. He had to resist the urge to do the little thing he had deemed his victory dance at the sight of it.
However, he was soon pulled away from his happy place by a shriek of, "Ragnar, are you even listening to me!?"
Cursing himself for being stupid enough to ignore his sister when she was clearly upset he turned around to face Garna. His voice was soft as he replied, "Um, yes? You were talking about the, uh, mutant colors, right?"
The moment her expression began to darken he knew he had been right. Unfortunately, with Garna being right wasn't always a good thing. Pure venom was in her voice as she spat, "not just mutants, these beasts called 'silverlights'. Queens, queens dragons impressing to men! As if being a mutant wasn't bad enough. And worse, I hear tell that they can be both genders. Imagine if a male one of those beasts impressed a woman. A female kingrider, assuming the mutant-lovers would deem them a king. Shards, I bet those fecking 'Ice' dragons would do that as well."
Her voice was loud, carrying for quite a while. But Ragnar wasn't focusing on that. Instead he thought to himself, well then, this isn't going to be dropped any time soon.
