Name: Kumori (Mori) - Currently going by Irai Cliffborn
Pronunciation: Cuu – more- ee (Ee- rahee)
Gender: Female
Age:76
Weyr: Formerly Dark Mists Weyr, now holdfolk
Rank: Holdfolk
Family: Parents Kori and Kaume (deceased)
Children: Ida and Dirn
Grandchildren: Deasde, Ased and Rinkoln
Weyrmate: Rindor (deceased)
Personality: Kumori is a sociopath. She sees inflicting pain and murder as an art form, something to perfect and practice. She will use sweet words or crying to lure in victims just to bring them down. Someone who knew her well called her ‘evil in human form’ just before turning up dead. She can be oddly whimsical at time and has a genuinely friendly side as well. It is hard to tell when she is lying through her teeth and telling the truth because of this.
---
Over the years, Kumori has perfected an utterly sweet facade as the woman Irai. As such she will act sweet and timid, prone to emotional outbursts of crying if intimidated or criticized. This personality is easy to please, but it is hard for Kumori to live such a lie contantly and occasionally her sociopathic tendencies will bleed through in the form of a glare or some harsh words. As Irai she is quick to apologize for any outburst though.
Appearance: She had a short boyish style cut of her black hair that will only cover her ears with an even tone throughout. Her eyes are a dark, dark brown and she is on the short side. She has a scar on her left check and one over her right eye. She occasionally puts a bandage on the one on her check to make herself look more hurt and helpless. She has a small lipped smile, and if she had bigger eyes she would look a lot younger then she is because of her size.
---
Now that Kumori is older her hair is silver, but still cut short. Her face has scars on both cheeks and on her chin, as well as a peppering of scars all over her body. She has wrinkles, and on her face they tend to accent her scars, making her look very weathered.
History: Kumori was born to two average people that in a home near a range of mountains lined with a large network of caves. She was always slightly ‘unbalanced’, as her parents had called her. However she was a sweet girl most of the time and she lived in a quiet life for the first 15 turns of her life. Then she started to get weirder. She would disappear to return later with traces of blood on her clothes, or she would pull a knife when a small creature came near. The final straw was when they went out to find her one day and they found a dead creature, cruelly killed. They confronted her with what they knew (they had done more digging) and she panicked. Her parents were dead the next day, by a tragic accident where their home had caught fire. And poor Kumori was alone. She persuaded a boy she knew (with a little flirting and a bit of crying) to get her out of sight from her home because it was ‘too painful’. She spent the next turns doing odd jobs and perfecting her ‘art’. Once she came to Dark Mists Weyr she impressed Copper Mathirath a violent dragon who was willing to learn from her everything she knew about her art. Even though they have been kept from blood up until now, the pair is itching for some real fights.
When a fight actually came, Kumori was not ready for what would result from it. When the Deathwings and Dark Mists Weyr finally came to a fight, the battle was hard on both sides. As hard as she and Mathirath tried, they could not win. Mathirath forced Kumori to stay safe on the ground and gave he life to protect her rider. Kumori, devastated, went to hide herself so she wouldn't be found while she healed. She had been worse off then she had thought in the battle, and it took time to patch herself up. Eventually she did so, and set about getting off the horrible rock that had at one time held DMW. She was still not one hundred percent and was half starving when by a stroke of luck she caught the attention of a fishing boat, trying some place new. She flung herself at the first person that came ashore and wove a tale about how she had been a poor captive in this horrid place. People had beaten her and used knives to cut her up, all sorts of horrors. Oh how she was glad they had all gotten killed, but now she wanted away. The fisher folk believed the story and she was brought to Cliff-Side seahold for a while.
