Appearance: Liera is all of sixteen and growing like a weed. Already standing at five feet four inches high, it seems to some that her final height might be on par with the average male; however, the rest of her is decidedly not. Her frame is petite, wiry, but already she is developing into the woman she will be, filling out in bust and backside to be quite the figure for boys her age to look at. Her skin is tanned compared to the pale complexions of others in the northern holds, a trait from her mother’s Igen background. Her hair is black, thick, wavy and long, reaching to the small of her back with bangs cut to frame her face, and is usually held back by a red sash tied behind her head. Her eyes are bright green, tinted usually with either mischief or distaste. With rosy pink lips twitching from smile to smirk to pout, it’s easy to determine Liera’s mood from her appearance and she has long since stopped trying to hide it.
Personality: Growing up, Liera was a headstrong girl who believed she was right in whatever situation she came across. She was slow to trust anyone but herself and her ‘adopted’ sister, Daeka, and often showered authority figures with her disdain. She was bossy, sullen, and loud, and would throw fits if she didn’t get her way... and now she’s hit puberty. She’s prone to mood swings, from happiness and a feeling of freedom to being suddenly angry and lashing out, or sad and drawn into herself or striking at others for perceived wrongs; but like all roses, with the thorns comes some finer points.
If nothing else, Liera is confident and clever. She can fend for herself, but shines brightest when she’s fighting on someone’s behalf. Living and learning at Sky Mountain Weyr has knocked some of the brattiness out of her, but her true focus, the key to the better parts of herself, is Daeka; she would live and die for that girl and her loyalties are first with her, than to anyone she has deemed worthy of her respect.
The best way to earn Liera’s respect is to best her at something, for until someone shows her that they are better, she believes she does it best; for that reason she still struggles on occasion with authority figures or bragging individuals (she herself doesn’t brag and finds the tendency most annoying), and will sometimes argue or physically fight someone to prove herself the better.
History: Liera was born at Windy Bluffs Hold, a small holdfast near Sky Mountain Weyr, and from the second she could speak she was arguing. … but her smart mouth was never exactly rewarded by her father. Prone to fits of anger, the smith would sometimes lose himself, and the small Liera was left reeling and bruised. When she turned six and the travelling harper went through town, telling news of outlying holds, Liera made her decision and ran away from home. A clever girl, she packed well, stuck to roads, often travelling with families when she lied to say that her grandparents were at the next hold and asked them to help her get there. Eventually she reached Rolling Hills Hold, and there she met Daeka, helping the orphaned girl out of a sticky situation. Daeka, in turn, told Liera about the wonderful dragons of Sky Mountain Weyr, and that it was her dream to be a dragonrider; eventually Daeka convinced her that they would both live at Sky Mountain Weyr and fly dragons together someday.
Convincing a rider that they would be of use to the Weyr, Liera and Daeka got a ride to Sky Mountain Weyr, where they lived and flourished in the environs of Weyrfolk, helping with chores but mostly working with the Star Hall journeyman who stayed on the tall mountain Weyr and mapped and studied stars.
At the age of 16, Liera and Daeka were transferred to Ice Stone Weyr to stand as candidates at the next hatching, arriving on the day the Junior Queen took flight. Several Sevendays later, arriving late to the hatching after Daeka dealt with personal issues, Liera stood, watched, and waited. Soon after they arrived, they were joined by a rival by the name of Tikra, and both girls set their sites on the largest egg in the clutch; Liera only to try to dissuade the dragonet from choosing the aggressive girl. The egg hatched to reveal a Silverlight - a male silverlight - but the pair of them continued to watch it closely, until a small pair of Aurora dragonets raced across the sands, competing with each other to reach them first. The winner of the dragonet competition, Minloth, impressed to Liera, and the pair would never forget that.
Dragon's Name: Minloth (Min- low -th) ((3c85c3 , 54dbb0, 6bc19a))
Dragon's Gender: Male
Dragon's Age: 0 turns
Dragon's Color: Aurora
Dragon's Appearance: Minloth, typical of those who share his color, has a compact body section that is well-muscled and stout, able to take any physical blows to his torso, sides, and stomach easily. But with his trunk so stout, it makes his other features – his head, neck, legs, tail and wings – look to be a little big for him in comparison to other proportioned dragons. His coloration, true to his color’s name, looks like the Aurora that sometimes dances in the Northern Pernese skies, seeming to almost shimmer on his hide if you’re not concentrating. Minloth’s coloration is mixed hues of blues and greens that melt together beautifully.
As a full adult, Minloth’s body length, from chest to back of hind leg, is 27 feet. His neck length, from chest to tip of his nose, is roughly 20 feet, and his tail is 50 feet long, putting his entire tail-tip to nose-tip measurement at 97 feet. His wingspan is around 162 feet (one and two-thirds his full length). He stands, from toes to shoulder, at around 7 feet tall.
Dragon's Personality: Minloth is a very single minded dragon. When he wants to do something, he wants almost nothing else. It means that when he wants to do something he can be incredibly persistent. However, if he changes goals, he completely forgets about his previous wants. If his single-mindedness brings trouble he is quick to apologize, though he often doesn't have the foresight to prevent it from happening.
Dragon's History:
Hatching Ice Queen Temperanth's First Clutch - (by Shoki):One of the eggs decided, up out of nowhere, it was time to hatch. It hadn't really moved up until that point, but then the dragonet inside just pushed the egg open and let his head out. The Aurora dragonet looked outside, eyes whirling with excitement. Oh there was a lot to go and do! The egg flopped forward as he tried to escape to look at the candidates, before he realized that he was trapped. The head disappeared for a moment before the egg cracked open, releasing the dragonet on the sands. He was knit together with blues and greens, all melting together in a eye catching way. Having released himself he darted over to the male candidates. Maybe there was a person for him this way.
Impression(by Shoki): The two Aurora males soon got over the interest in their brother and started toward the female candidates again. Neither one wanted the other to get the best pick. So a slow walk turned into a race quickly, the blue and green Aurora having the edge, but only just. The Cloud and Brick turned around to watch their brothers' race, looking like they enjoyed watching as much as running around themselves. The Aurora's race came to an abrupt end when the green and blue Aurora dashed, and his aqua and pink brother resolved into a trot. Therefore the green and blue Aurora arrived at Liera promptly. LieraMine! I got you first! Minloth has won! The dragonet looked happy, pleased as punch to have won. He sifted thoughts quickly though. Perhaps I could get a victory snack LieraMine? I'm hungry.
Adoption?: I’d prefer she and Liera “transfer” back to Sky Mountain Weyr if I become inactive, but since I’d be inactive you could probably do whatever and I’d never find out, lol.
Dragon Preferences:My thoughts for Liera: Liera is a born leader; she needs to be shaped and a little more disciplined, but she’s got confidence and she’s a quick thinker and won’t be silenced by anyone. So maybe Gold, or Starlight (haha, that’d be funny)… I’d say Bronze or Crimson but I don’t think they’d cross pick, despite how argumentative Liera would be. I’m cool with anything so long it looks like a good personality match. XD
