Appearance: Dandzael stands at about 5’9”, the same height as his twin brother and possesses the same longer limbs, making him look taller yet. His hands are a bit slender, though they are large and possess callouses from work that he has done. He has a light skin tone, though a bit darker than his brother’s. He has plenty of freckles spattered across his arms and face, most obvious above his cheekbones. His eyes are blue and can look slightly green in the right light. If he is upset, his eyes definitely show it. His hair is a dark brown that has faded from black over time due to outdoor activity. His hair is straight and relatively short-cropped, coming down just above his ears. He has a cowlick that drives him a little bit crazy. His face is much more closed than his brother’s and his emotions are not so easily seen.
Personality: Dandzael is a rather quiet boy, but decidedly intelligent and gentle. He is good at figuring things out and working with people. His temper, although decidedly there and perhaps even prominent at times, is not explosive or potent. He becomes very quiet when he is angry and may simply walk away. He is not one for confrontation. He is protective, especially of his family and his brother, however, and will not hesitate to fight for them. Overall, Dandzael has a strong, if quiet nature and character.
History: Dandzael and his twin were born to Naadiel, a young girl who was Weyrborn, but did not Impress, and Z’lear, or Zalear, rider of Midnight Jeisipth. The boys grew up raised by grandmothers, grandfathers, and their mother and father. They learned a lot about caring for dragons and their parents often had them do a lot of the harder work with them. Naadiel was insistent that they learn a trade and, so, when they were still but 10 Turns old, had them sent to live with their Uncle and Aunt for three Turns to learn to be Beast Crafters if ever the need should arise. She wanted her boys to have the experience of a Hold as well as a Weyr where she and their father had not. During this time, their Uncle, being very proud of the two of them, even going as far as to treat them as sons, bought each a pet. Dandzael, who had asked for a flitter egg, was granted one, which hatched into a little black female he named Andi after his grandmother’s nickname. His brother was given a kitten.
Once the three Turns had passed, the boys returned to the Weyr and stood before a SearchDragon and were chosen to Stand. Neither Dalziel nor Dandzael have Impressed at any hatching at this point. Dandzael wishes and dreams to be a rider more than anything else.
