Andromedae had bid her goodbye to her new friend at Rainbow Mists hours earlier, leaving on a Green dragon back to her icy home. She knew it was her best chance at Impressing and decided it was best for her to stay there.
It was cold, so very cold in between but it almost seemed colder at the Weyr she resided at. Ice Stone. She breathed in deep, letting fresh, cold air sting her lungs. It was a familiar smell though, the night wintery air. She made her way down some corridors, hoping to eventually run into L'van upon returning. She had not seen him much since he Impressed but that was only expected of a new Weyrling.
Once she got to the inner part of the Weyr, smells of food began to fill the hallways as she got closer and closer to the Kitchens. A warm orange light glowed from under the door crack, giving her a feeling inside of comfort. She opened the door and made her way over to grab some food off of a table, along with a warm cup of klah. She loved how late at night it was possible to snatch up meat rolls and of course a bubbly pie. She loved those so much and being a 'sweetheart' to the baker of the Weyr helped out in getting them even when he wasn't baking a full batch. She glided over to the table, looking almost regal with her walk and sat down to enjoy her little dinner.

There was more than one reason for Rekkora to return home for a visit; the reasons she would actually admit to were quite obvious though. Her elder brother had managed to Impress and her sister had been given a rank so shortly after graduation. She'd not been able to visit for Korvalia's graduation so naturally she could not miss this. It had taken a bit of cajolling, pleading and flirting to form her little retinue and they hadn't left until it would be well into the evening at ISW. The change in temperature was shocking. She'd only been gone for a year, however, that seemed more than enough for her to have grown accustomed to the heavy heat of the south. At least she'd had the presence of mind to dress appropriately in a heavier gown and a fur-trimmed cloak.
Sunvoiath appeared above the weyr shortly after the other dragons and caused a slight stir. Rekkora gritted her teeth and forced a smile as they landed. She adored the attention Sunvoiath brought her much of the time, the awe and respect...but the prejudice and slander she could do without. The rider she'd ridden with helped her down and she walked over to the Abyss who dutifully lowered her head for a good rub og the eyeridge.
This is where you were born? It is not very warm.
You'll get used to it if you're here long enough. Settle where you please, love. No one will stop you.
I know
Rekkora's smile was genuine as she broke away and started towards the kitchens. No doubt her mother would be lingering there and would know where she could find Korvalia; Barrek she'd have to find on her own. She slipped into the kitchen and pulled at the clasp that kept the cloak about her shoulders, catching it before it hit the ground and hanging it on a peg set in the wall by the entrance. The place hadn't changed much aside from a few faint scrapes near the door that looked suspiciously like claw marks. Moving towards the stove she grabbed a plate and a few treats the turned and stopped abruptly. "Oh, I didn't see you."

Andromedae had stood to her feet to grab one more bubbly pie, almost running into Rekkora. "Oh, apologies." Andromedae said, and noticed something familiar about the girl before her, "Wait...I know you from somewhere."
Andromedae sat back down placing her plate before her and she motioned with her right hand, "Have a seat; it's bothering me that I can't remember your name!" She laughed and said, "I guess it's because I've come to know who everyone is without having to second guess." She had this slight little smirk across her face, but not in a disrespecting manner.
Rekkora blinked and made sure that she wasn't slouching; of course she rarely slouched so it was pointless to check but one could never be too careful. She looked the other girl over and indeed she did seem familiar though all she could think was that perhaps she'd seen her at a feast or a hatching. She was a pretty girl about her own age and that immediately put her on edge. For some reason women didn't seem to like her very much..
"Yes you look familiar as well. I am Rekkora Castor of the Abyss; Sunvoiath."
You are getting good at that.
Irai would be proud.
Rekkora hesitated a moment though was careful to hide her uncertainty and gauge the other woman's reaction to her identity. She was used to the lot of them; sneers, flinches, scowls, even flat out skepticism. The only one that had cause her off guard had been the hostility of the girl named Garna.

"The Abyss? How beautiful! I would love to have an Abyss bonded." She smiled and looked Rekkora over, "It must be nice having such a wonderfully colored bonded. I love their personalities, and their histories."
She had always loved the Abyss dragons, Gold coming in right before the Ice. She felt all three had such a high regal air about them, and so do their riders.
"So what, may I ask, are you doing here from Rainbow Mists?" She inquired, wondering what she was doing so far from her home in the south.
