Sounds like him too
Personality:
“Living life to the fullest.”
Dezurenko is probably one of the most cheerful and lively people anyone will ever meet. He's especially exuberant around others. Dezie's also one of the most energetic. He'll commit daredevil acts, mostly for the thrill of it. It usually lands him in the infirmary, but he doesn't mind. He's always looking for something fun to do or someone to socialize with. Dezurenko loves socializing. He treats everyone with the same outgoing attitude, even the most abrasive ones.
Dezurenko is also one of the most eccentric people anyone will ever meet. Instead of the usual flitt, or a dog, he has a dead tunnel snake for a pet. It's actually his third tunnel snake, because Fang starts to smell after a while. Like Fang, Dezurenko approaches things differently. For instance, he believes he has a shot at impressing the queen despite the evidence they only bond to girls. I mean, cross-impression exists right?! He's also pretty imaginative. Back when he was a beastcrafter, he often "oiled" (watered down) his charge and pretended he was D'zenko, rider of black "Runnerbeath". But he can take his imaginative side too far, at one point assuming he really was a dragonrider out on search. Dezurenko also has a strange appreciation of fire. It has a hypnotic effect on him.
Dezurenko can be bored easily. He'll do any task assigned to him, until he finds it too tedious. Then he'll leave, or become belligerent if ordered to continue. Though if it's a task he sees importance in, he'll suck up and do it. Writing isn't the most energetic hobby, but it's the only "idle activity" he likes. He's rebellious, but in a passive aggressive way. The weyrleaders are more like managers than people he should kowtow to. Dezurenko shows respect, but he decides how much. He's also stubborn, again in a passive aggressive way. If he wants something, he won't blackmail or threaten anyone, no...He'll just bother them for days on end until he got what he wanted.
Dezurenko may be one of those "special people". He hears voices in his head. He never told anyone, though he overheard gossip about people who could "hear dragons". Dezurenko has always considered insanity as a better explanation, after all, that ability is rare.
There is no weyr or hold Dezie hates more than Benden. His childhood and adolescence were rough there, and he came to RMW because it actually topped his old weyr. Any weyr that leaves Benden in envy is obviously an excellent choice, right?
Dezurenko usually wears an exuberant expression. Though if he were to anger (rarely) his veins would burst and his face would take on a death glare. If he were sad (also rare) his face would look as if all the fight had gone out of it, his lips and eyes sagging. But that cheerful look generally dominates. His eyebrows often add to the emotions he expresses.
He's taken on many surnames over his travels, but returned to Denborn, as he thought it sounded best with his first name, and he doesn't want to hide where he was born anymore.
Dezurenko has opinions on all the creatures at the weyr:
Dragons-Large "whers" that fly and burn thread.
Whers-Because of Khelsk, whers are Dezie's favorite critter.
Flitts-Irritating little chirping things.
Lifewings-big birds that heal people, excellent.
Runnerbeasts-big furry things you can ride.
Wherrys-Food.
“Hope is foolish”.
Though that's only on the surface...It's the side of Dezurenko he allows people to see. But there's more to him. His “dark thoughts”. Sometimes these thoughts resurface...Dezie loses himself socializing and doing fun things, partially because he likes it, and to keep them down for another day. He used to suffer from depression at Benden, especially after the deaths of Khellion and Khellsk (see below). He kept himself walled off and was hostile to everyone. His cheerful attitude isn't just a mask, it's a deterrent for it. Dezurenko is terrified of being seen as stupid or gullible by others. He can't truly trust anyone.
Dezurenko, despite his seemingly optimistic outlook on life, is pretty cynical. If anyone were to ask him whether they'd impress, he'd reply with the belief they shouldn't expect it. At least they won't be left in the lurch if it doesn't happen.
Dezurenko also has a temper, that can burnout of control, and he can react to situations in a violent manner. He claims, it makes a crimson's fury look like nothing.
Likes/Dislikes: Dezurenko likes anything fun, meeting people, and sometimes, writing.
Dezurenko dislikes “boring and tedious things”, sucking up to people, trying to socialize with “bad people”-those no one gets along with, being used, patience.
History:
3055.13.21: Dezurenko is born at Benden Weyr to Ezra and D'jenko.
3062.1.26: Ezra decides her green needs a warmer climate so she puts in for a transfer. She leaves Dezurenko in the Creche, instead of taking him with her. The last words Ezra says to him, words he still remembers to this day: "You're too much of a hassle for me."
3064: Dezurenko's life in the creche isn't one to brag about. The other kids, as well as most of the weyr consider him weird, especially considering his "revolutionary" acceptance of mutants. His short stature and fat belly don't improve his image. Even the nicer ones avoid him. Some of the crueler boys voice their opinions with their fists.
Then Michannel comes along. She befriends Dezurenko, and he follows her around, doing whatever she asks of him. Until, on a fine summer day, he overhears her reffering to him as her "pet" to her friends. But Michannel isn't stupid. She knows he knows, even if he doesn't bring it up. She decides to rebuild the trust.
3064.13.21 Dezurenko is convinced by his "best friend" to wear one of her dresses to the mess hall as a joke...the joke's on him though. Michannel officially dumps him as a "friend". A new boy, Bigoli, beats him. But Dezurenko knows, in four years, he'll be able to stand, impress, and get the respect he feels he deserves.
3064-3068 Dezurenko faces vicious bullying by Bigoli, one incident resulting in a broken leg, taunting and detestation from Michannel and her friends, and general avoidment from the rest of the weyr. But he still holds onto hope. His broken leg is considered a result of his clumsieness. When he becomes a candidate, the candidatemaster is extra rough with him, seeing him as weak, someone he needs to build up. But it breaks Dezurenko further down. All he has left is the belief he will impress.
3069.03.04: Dezurenko stands for a dragon. He fails. And bawles on the sands. The candidatemaster later beats him for being an embarrasment.
3069-3070 While hiding from Bigoli and friends, Dezurenko meets Khellion and his wher, Khelsk, when the two return to their weyr. Khellion signs Dezurenko up to be a part of his trader caravan. Dezurenko leaves the very next day with it. While traveling, Dezurenko becomes stronger, and learns trading from Khellion, his mentor. Khelsk also requires help to relearn tricks. Tricks that earn her handler extra marks. Dezurenko eventually helps to manage the caravan. Khellion's caravan plans to reach the southern part of the North Continent mid turn in 3070. He plans to see the shipfish. Then they'll go south to RMW, to view the mutants. The stories of rare dragons and shipfishes impresses Dezurenko.
3070.03.13 Khelsk dies fighting a blue dragon. She was protecting her handler from rough treatment by three blueriders, Benden blueriders, at a bar. Khellion is thrown into a depression, and gives up his caravan. Dezurenko follows him into exile.
3070.04.13 Dezurenko plans to take his old mentor south to view the shipfishes, then on to RMW. But while hiking through some mountains, Khellion finds a ledge. And hurls himself off it. Dezurenko is only to late to save him. Now he's alone. Dezurenko continues south.
3070.04.15 Dezurenko comes across a bluerider sleeping across an abandoned road from his blue. Dezurenko, still grieving his old mentor, murders the man. Dezie watches as his dragon goes between. He makes it look like a robbery, but later buries the possessions he's stolen. As far as any of the riders who recovered the body are, he was murdered by a cowardly robber.
3070-3071 Dezurenko, still horrified with what he'd done, lives as a hermit in the woods, traveling and shunning contact with humanity. Sometimes he steals food from caravans when he knows he won't be noticed.
3071-3073 Dezurenko comes across a harper hall. He likes the music, leaves his solitude, and apprentices in the craft. But while he eagerly learns to play any instrument placed in his hands, the songs he writes, songs about dragonriders, are considered too gloomy, and even, offensive. They'd only infuriate any rider who read them. Dezurenko is thrown out of the harper hall. By this point, he is constantly depressed and angry. He continues traveling, even to the Southern Continent, taking any job or apprenticing when he can, but he always ends up fired in the end. He never gets to see any shipfishes.
3073-3075 Dezurenko moves to Melisong Hold. He hears more about the mutants and Benden's lower status. He begins to open up in the cheerful and gossipy atomsphere of the hold. Soon he's just another holder at Melisong. He suceeds in his apprenticeship as a vitner under the watchful eye of the Mastervitner.
3075.03.12 Dezurenko kills a tunnel snake, and desiring a pet, starts wearing it around. It's considered a kind of odd bizarrity at Melisong, but is accepted.
3075.13.05 Dezurenko is searched for RMW. He initially declines, but when the blue dragon tries to fly away, he changes his mind and jumps on its tail, forcing dragon and rider down. He is forgiven however, and is taken to RMW, where he finally gets to see some of the mutants.
3075 (present day) Dezurenko is now considering the healercraft.

Dezurenko noticed the packed crowd. He couldn't very well leave, not with all these people milling about. There was only one way through. He took a deep breath, slipping his very fashionable goggles down over his eyes. And climbed onto the table. Now he had a clearer path to the exit. Dezurenko stepped carefully amongst the candidates still eating. Once he stepped on someone's hand, "Sorry" he said in passing. Another time he may have planted his foot in someone's food. Dezurenko was almost to the end when he noticed the bubbly pie. He leaned down close to it and quickly cut himself a slice, while leaning awkwardly over the pie and preventing Fang from falling off his neck with his free hand. He ate it with his hands as he neared the entrance, and paused at the edge of the table to take a swig from a wineskin draped around one off his shoulders. Then he tripped. A rider caught him. Well...not quite. He bumped against the rider and the dark red wine spilled all over the man's shirt, staining it blood red. Dezurenko slowly looked up at the man's face. It was beet red. He recognized the man, a crimson rider.
Then he commited a terrible mistake. He imagined the rider with that same deep, beet red face, riding his crimson dragon, how the colors of dragon and rider matched so perfectly...
And he laughed. As he laughed, he noticed the rider was becoming even more infuriated, his hands balling into fists. Then he ran.
