Name: Cier Grovewood

Merri- Sister- Lifewing Candidate RMW- 23 Turns
Weyrmate: N/A
Friends: Acele Venire of Aurora Nialeeth
Pets: N/A
Appearance:
Cier isn't what most people would call a conventional beauty. She isn't terribly tall, or thin, or long legged. Her chocolate brown hair doesn't flow like the waters and her eyes don't sparkle like the stars. She stands at an average 5'3" and weighs in at around 130lbs. Her hair falls to her mid back and is painfully straight, and often has fly-aways from being in the air or enjoying the breeze. As for her eyes, well from a distance they appear a rather bland brown color, but should you take the time to study them up close they're a scattered mix of browns, grays, greens, and even a little bit of an amber color. However her mouth, her mouth is her best feature. With soft lips and an endearing lopsided smile, it can seem almost out of place.
While her overall appearance may not be the most eye catching, it's the way she carries herself that speaks volumes for her character. She stands tall and straight, much like a prized runner, and her face is almost always graced with some sort of cheerful look, though when she is sad it can be almost heart-wrenching compared to the joy that usually accompanies her. Her movements are fluid and rarely clumsy, though she doesn't seem aware of the fact, which gives her great speed when traveling from place to place by foot.
Personality:
Cier's personality is as luminous as her smile. She's the sort of person who can lighten the mood in the room just by entering it. She always has a kind word and a warm embrace for those who need it and is the kind of person who can be found in the creche when she has free time, though she has yet to be blessed with children of her own. If she hadn't become a Rider one could dare say she would have made a brilliant Harper, what with her skill around her fellow man and her way with conversations.
She isn't one to resist a party, though she tends to try and avoid too much gossip as she feels it can be more unhealthy than anything. She isn't often a host of them, but she always seems to end up helping out in some way, usually decorations or making sure everyone has someone to talk to or a drink in their hand.
While easy in manner during every day life, whenever a crisis arises or something needs to get done she is among the first to volunteer her services or, outside of Dragon life, the first to take charge of a situation. Although she seems to have a natural instinct for such things, should you try to compliment her or praise her for her actions she is completely oblivious to just how well she can manage things. Cier is the kind of woman who brushes it off saying that "Someone else could have done it better" or "I really wasn't that great.", usually accompanied by a blush or a quick exit.
History:
Born and raised in Ice Stone Weyr to a Lifewing rider and a Green rider, Cier grew up accustomed to her parents often being out and about while her and her younger sister ran about the creche. Growing up she was always the quiet child, the responsible child, keeping her sister out of trouble. Which inevitably happened day in and day out. As the two of them grew, they began to drift apart after their parents had a nasty fight which caused their mother to transfer to Rainbow Mists, taking Merri with her.
Though she was then often around her father, and had a great love for his Arctic Tern Jespish, she found herself more and more drawn towards dragons. While most Lifewing personalities more matched her own she was like many children, with dreams of riding a flaming dragon doing wonderful acrobatics in the sky. As soon as she could she was old enough, she was on the Sands eagerly awaiting her own wonderful dragon. Two times she stood, the second time even at Rainbow Mists she was so determined, and walked away with a dampened spirit only to return to the burning Sands the next time eggs began to shake.
Finally, on her third try, she stood on the Sands, watching an Aurora and a Cloud on the Sands. They were the last two that remained, and her heart longed for either one to approach her. And finally it happened, the Cloud strode forward, and she noticed another girl could barely keep herself in one place. She vaguely remembered her as having been Searched from Icy Cavern and seemed slightly oblivious to the tensions between Hold and Weyr. As she watched the girl from the corner of her eye she felt a light breeze about her mind, it was unexpected, but not at all unpleasant.
CierMine, why do you fret about her? It was a gentle voice, and if it weren't for the waves of love and concern (and of course hunger) that suddenly surged through her soul she may have ignored it. There will be time for that later For now, Your Brignith is hungry. Turning back to the dragonets, she found the Cloud, a male Cloud at that, before her with contently whirring rainbow eyes and the other girl was forgotten.
Not but a few moments later the girl joined the rest of the new Weyrlings with the Aurora. She gave her a quick congratulations before going about her business and giving Brignith all the love and care he could want as an egg-fresh hatchling. As the days went on and the lessons went by, she found herself enjoying the Aurora Weyrling's company, who she now knew as Acele with her Nialeeth.
The days flew by, Graduation came and went, and a few turns later Acele and Nialeeth transferred to Rainbow Mists, leaving Brignith in a sulking kind of mood for a few sevendays before he finally brightened back up when Cier agreed to go to RMW as often as possible so he could see his friend. Finally, the two returned to Ice Stone and life continued on, with all the drama that the Silverlights and Holds presented.
Adoption?: Sure
Dragon's Name: Brignith
Dragon’s Gender: Male
Dragon's Age: 13 turns
Dragon's Color: Cloud
Dragon's Appearance:
Brignith is like his Rider on the size part of the scale, rather average, filling out at 26 and a half feet, his wingspan on the other hand is rather impressive, filling out to just over 50 feet from wingtip to wingtip.
His body is a soft shade of blue with scattered and wispy, almost hazy, patches of white and gray, much like a lightly overcast sky in the early morning hours. His wings are decidedly lighter in look, lacking the gray undertones of the rest of his hide. He's a bit thin in stature, with much of his bulk powering his wings and hindquarters.
Dragon's Personality:
Brignith is almost as predictable as a Cloud dragon can get. Rarely down in the dumps (just like his Rider) when he's out and about it's almost as if his feet don't touch the ground (which they rarely do). Unlike many dragons, Brignith seems almost unaware that it isn't customary to talk to whomever one pleases when they are a dragon, and has spooked many a normal folk by butting into their conversations himself, instead of through his rider. The worst of it is he usually isn't even in clear sight of those having the conversation, or if he is he doesn't usually give a clear signal that it is indeed him speaking. When outside of the weyr it is almost a constant thing, him talking to people and Cier apologizing for his bluntness.
And he really is very blunt. Another skill he never quite seemed to learn is how to soften ones words. And while his words are never said in malice or to be rude, sometimes his words come out rather abrupt and brash, the sort of thing that sounded better in your head. His Rider never has to prod him into apologizing though, he is just as willing to ask forgiveness as he is quick to speak his mind.
Like any respectable Cloud, he can often be found overlooking activities from a high perch, and is quick to make friends with whatever dragon happens to be on watch- whether they want his company or not. He also enjoys long flights with his Rider, and they can often be found flying from place to place, as opposed to just going Between.
Dragon's History:
One of the last to hatch in his clutch, Brignith was more than happy to take him time when an Aurora- the only other dragonet left with him on the Sands- decided to take up a conversation. He could feel the gentleness of his Mine skittering about the edges of his mind, and as such he wasn't too particularly worried. He was sure they knew he was there as well. Finally, the two agreed it was time to go and eat. And so he approached Cier, who seems distracted, maybe even worried, about one of the other candidates on the Sands. The girl his new friend had decided to Impress to no less. Eagerly he prodded his new Rider away from where she stood and over to the meat bowls to feed his growling belly.
Time passed and the pair grew. They discovered early on his liking for speaking to whomever, whenever, and he never did understand why it seemed so upsetting to people, despite Cier's best efforts to explain it to him. As Weyrlinghood went on both he and Nialeeth were happy to see their riders bond and become friends as they became better friends themselves.
The days raced by, Graduation came and went, and then... Nialeeth flew. Though he was compelled to fly after his friend as he had one or two others already, he resisted, knowing that his Rider was unsure of such a situation with someone she knew as a good friend. Not long after Nialeeth clutched and had her first babies hatched, she and her Rider transferred to Rainbow Mists Weyr, leaving him in a rather gloomy sort of mood.
Rather than go flying with his rider or gabbing on at the watchriders he lay either in his weyr or on his weyrledge, watching the point where dragons appeared from Between, awaiting his friends return. Dragons, particularly Clouds, are not ones to hold on to something for too long though, and after a couple sevendays he was back on his wings and ready to go. Cier's promises of frequent trips to Rainbow Mists didn't hurt either. A couple of years passed, he flew a couple of lovely dragons, and even sired a clutch. Made a few new dragon-buddies, and even a few human friends, and enjoyed the day to day life of the Weyr, despite all of the drama surrounding him and his Cier.
One day, in the sky above Ice Stone, a familiar bugle called out. Overjoyed to see his clutchmate, he was out to greet her before Cier even knew what was going on. Not much time has passed, and only time will tell if their friendship has stood the test of time and distance.
