L'van smiled. Actually, it was more of a grin.
"Well, of course I would," he answered, bowing slightly over her hand before following her onto the dance floor. After all, he couldn't have her looking sad, now could he? It was a man's job to protect, and therefore removing her sadness with a dance seemed mandatory. Besides, even though he'd never admit it -- because guys just aren't supposed to -- he rather enjoyed dancing.
Reaching the floor, he pivoted smoothly, leading off in the first steps.

She found herself being whirled on the dance floor in L'van's arms. She had one hand gently laid on his shoulder, her eyes sparkling as her other hand was pressed into his.
She followed his graceful steps.
"You are lovely with this!" She said, smiling up at him. She pressed her body closer to his, then spun out before coming back into his arms tightly. She stepped with his every motion, people surrounding them watching their grace. However, she felt all that was in the room was herself and L'van.

It was a feeling that L'van shared, had either of the dancers been aware of it. That feeling of being the only ones in the room, moving through a sea of blankness, traveling in an open space devoted to the dance.
L'van smiled. "It is a skill one acquires," he replied. "Besides, lovely dancing, my lady, takes two. You have no small skill yourself."
Small talk. No it wasn't the most fun way to spend one's time, but it was required of a man spending time with a lady, particularly if he wished to know her better. A wish that L'van definitely had.

"Well, thank you very much! She ate so much that she's been asleep since we arrived in the Weyrling Barracks. We both curled up for a nap before I slinked off to bathe and comb out my hair." She giggled, thinking about her Black-Haze curled up tightly, ignoring everything and every noise around her once she settled in.
"She had whined at first once she had emerged into the cold air, more shocked than anything. She was not expecting so much cold between the Barracks and the Hatching Sands." She shrugged, "She seemed to take a liking to Thoth. Speaking of which, how is the darling? I know he's been growing in size rapidly! They should be around the same size once they are grown. However, I'm concerned. Wasn't the Black-Haze developed at Dark Mists? No one will fear my little darling will they? She does demand respect much like a Starlight would, but I don't want her to be seen as something to be scared of...." Andri said, concerned for her little one. She didn't want her feared in her Weyrlinghood; in her adulthood however that would be the dragon's choice.
It was all depending on her personality development.

L'van grinned. If there was one way he had changed since coming to the Weyr, it was that he was able to be genuinely glad to hear of a dragon's well-being.
"Thoth's doing quite well." L'van reached out mentally and gave another quick grin. "He fell back asleep."
Step step pause Step step pause. The dance continued. Now that he wasn't thinking about it, L'van moved with a great deal of natural grace.
"I don't see why they'd fear her," L'van answered. "It's been a long time since Dark Mists. They'll respect her, of course, but then she is a dragon. Respect comes with the territory."

Andri smiled at the thought of Thoth's well being, "I am grateful to hear this! She knew he was getting larger and stronger, before they would know it they would be doing Flight, leaving Andri and Ziaveth behind.
Then Andri felt her mind come to life, [smear:17999b]Andri-mine,[/smear:363341][smear:363341] you are with[/smear:ca99ce][smear:ca99ce] thath DarkBlue's mine, aren't [/smear:363341][smear:363341] you? I can feel your happiness in my sleep.[/smear:6654b5] Ziaveth crooned sleepily to her Mine. Andri chuckled, knowing that was her dragonet's approval before she felt the silence of her little being falling back asleep.
Oh how precious and dear she was to her in just a matter of a few hours. The explosions of emotion in her mind were so much stronger now than before.
"Respect will be demanded from both of us." She said, her voice still sweet but had an edge to it. She pressed herself against L'van's body. She lifted her eyes to his, "I think today has been the happiest day of my existence. I impressed the most beautiful Black Hazed Aurora, and I am dancing with a Lord Holder's handsome son, and a fine Weyrling at that."

L'van stepped into Andromedae, helping her press them together.
"If it wasn't, something might be wrong," L'van commented.
The dance slowed to a stop, and L'van realized they were right next to the seats ringing the floor.
"Here, why don't we sit down until the next dance starts?" he offered, flopping down into one of the seats and pulling Andromedae towards him. The Harpers were changing out, they probably had at least a couple minutes before the next dance.

Andri smiled at L'van as he sat down, and it turned sort of wry. She sat down in his lap, putting an arm around his shoulders.
"You know, I think I would have won that race if I hadn't fallen flat on my face." She said, "One day we'll have to challenge eachother again." she giggled and looked at him with sensual eyes, examining the features in his face.
She felt so many emotions for this man and wasn't quite sure why. His height, the way he carried himself, his smile. Why did he make her swoon? Why did she feel protective when another girl looked towards him.
Certainly she hadn't caught the fever for this man?

L'van grinned. He felt flushed, like his blood was running races through his body and forcing his heart to keep up. He felt like crowing to the sky that this was a victory, and had no idea why it was hitting him this strongly. All he knew was that this one was his.
"What are you doing tomorrow?" L'van asked. It was only half in jest, just as the gleam in his eyes was only partially from a sense of "challenge accepted".

Andromedae smiled at L'van, "Whatever I want us to do." she winked at the young Rider. She felt like her heart at triumphed as she looked into his eyes, feeling her emotions running more wild than a wild firelizard's flight.
He was making her head spin.
She could see this sort of pride in his face, maybe the same pride she was feeling. She was still on edge on how he felt about her.
She felt Ziaveth snort at her mind's emotions, almost as if for her to "calm down, I want sleep" point to get across. This only made Andromedae chuckle in her mind. Her little one was so self absorbed it was adorable.
Andromedae was pressed against L'van, but slowly rose and stood with her hand extended as the Harpers struck up again. "Shall we dance, or shall we escape this Feast?" she inquired, her nerves keeping her from wanting to be still. She wanted to find herself in L'van's arms the rest of the evening, not wanting the night to end.

"Dance, definitely dance," L'van answered. It wasn't necessarily the first thing on the list of what he wanted to do, but that first thing would be "very bad" for their dragons. Which, well, he didn't want to hurt Thoth.
Catching Andromedae's arms, he shifted her and stood up. "Another dance, lady?"

"Well, let's then." She wrapped herself into L'van's arms again, beginning to step with his steps.
She was so enthralled with this man.
Since the day they collided in the hallway, both in such a fuss.
She smiled up at him, "L'van, even though now we're both Riders, I see us having a great time in the future together." She said it calmly, knowing that she wanted this man to one day become her weyrmate. If by their dragon's choices or by their own free will; it could happen.
