Evening, after the hatching
Hedara and Temperanth had both gotten some rest before the feast, Hedara being one of the first people there. Pleasant aromas wafted through the hall, though it wasn’t nearly as large as the last time a Queen had risen. Still, no one would go hungry here, not today, and not in the coming turn. Leave that to Hedara. However, it was hard to think of such troubles, when the scent of spiced drinks filled the air, and such enticing food was available. The days were short, and the cold intense, encouraging people to come in and celebrate where it was warm.
With all of that, Hedara found herself in an uncommonly good mood. Oh, she didn’t smile, but her hazel eyes were not quite so intense in their gaze. Ivy lay, content and curled up, on the table beside Hedara’s food. Every so often the Flitter crooned, basking in the fun around her. Hedara herself was still working on a delightful spiced concoction, which warmed her quite nicely. She was considering a few things at the moment, more lighter in quality. For one, she was thinking about how interesting a group of weyrlings she now had. Between these new ones and Lanikath’s last, no doubt, R’niaan was going to have his hands full. Hopefully not too full.
The other thing she was contemplating at the moment was where her Sr. Weyrleader had run off to. The other woman always seemed to duck out when official duties were done with. At least, that was how it seemed. Not that Hedara particularly cared how Cier spent her off time, but she was curious as to where she had run off to right now.
