Appearance:
R'nar is a big guy, standing at six feet and two inches tall and weighing in at nearly 200 pounds. He's intimidating. He has long blond hair and a beard (sometimes braided), and dark blue, cruel eyes. He's got weapons galore on his person at all times, and he usually wears a bandana of some sort around his head and runs around shirtless. (Okay, he'd freeze if he did that outside, but if he's inside... 99% of the time, he's not wearing a shirt.) Living in the North, he has pale skin. His dark eyes provide a nice contrast to this, as does his wild hair.
If anything, R'nar could be called "ruggedly handsome." He is by no means the glorious perfection of male beauty, but he does have a certain something that lends a bit of attractiveness to him. His long hair is nearly always a mess, unless braided back, which somehow lends him a unkempt yet-good-looking kind of look. Of course, his attractiveness is marred by scarring on his right arm and leg from a mauling while standing as a Candidate hoping to Impress.
R'nar maintains good posture not only while walking, but while sitting. He tends to walk a bit on the slower side, but usually seems to have a purpose to his gait, as if he has something important to do, or somewhere to be, even if he doesn't.
The rider dresses casually. He's typically seen in clothes that would constitute hard work, which is the norm for most riders. R'nar prefers to wear clothes that are "broken in." The same can be said of his boots. Once he gets attached to a pair of boots, he's going to wear them until they're falling apart, and nothing can be done to save them. Even then, it is likely that someone will have to drag him to get a new pair, because how can he bear to let the old ones go? Usually someone has to drag him to get new clothes, too, and force him into nicer clothing for Gathers and Graduations and the like. R'nar would much rather be comfortable than presentable.
Personality:
R’nar is, above all, a fighter.
Swords, daggers, hammers, fists... it doesn't matter. He'll pick a fight with anyone. He's strong, he's big, he's intimidating, and he's fast with his blades or fists or whatever weapon he's working with. Basically, all brawn and no brains.
Obviously, R’nar is not very personable.
He's friendly enough with people he knows, but when it comes to strangers, he's pretty much a block of wood until you get to know him. Once you do get to know him, however, he’s the most loyal friend you can have.
R'nar forms strong relationships, but is wary of strangers.
He tends to forge a second family (more or less) out of his friends (i.e, his friends are family; this started unintentionally, but he's aware of this tendency now and does it actively). He's hopeless when it comes to organization, and can be messy at times. Often, his personal weyr has a slightly chaotic look to it, as if a tornado had just ripped through.
R'nar is, however, dependable.
Ask him to do a favor, and he will. He doesn't ask for anything in return, he just believes in helping out those who he trusts. And if he trusts someone, he will literally do anything for that person. Well, almost. While he likes fighting, he is not "evil" and will not perform a deed that he considers immoral.
With that in mind, R'nar almost sees himself as a bit of a policeman.
He doesn't like people breaking the rules (though he does break them himself on occasion), and holds people to high moral standards. If someone is immoral, or has little to no morals, he counts them as his enemy and treats them as such. Given the situation between Rainbow Mists Weyr and Benden Weyr, he counts all of Benden Weyr as his enemies.
All in all, R'nar is genuine.
He's not going to pretend to be something he's not. He is who he is, and there's no changing that. Does he take risks sometimes? Yes. Does he get in trouble sometimes? Yes. Does he occasionally forget to return the records he was reading to their proper place? Yes. All of this, however, is what makes R'nar who he is, and he's not going to present himself in any other light. After all, he's unique… just like everybody else.
History:
Ragnar was born in Icy Caverns Hold to two Journeyman Beastcrafters. He was the oldest boy, and had two elder sisters and also a younger sister as well as his single younger brother. Growing up, the family was very close-knit. Of course, the siblings squabbled and fought, as children do, but they always came out alright in the end.
When Ragnar was about twelve, he took a trip to Ice Stone Weyr, and immediately became obsessed with dragons. He begged to be sent to the Weyr, but his parents never let him. Finally, at seventeen turns, he ran away to Ice Stone Weyr, where he took on the role of a drudge.
To his delight, he was searched and stood for a clutch soon after. However, he was viciously mauled and left standing. At the next clutch, when he was eighteen turns, Ragnarr had better luck. Watching the hatching take place as if from the sidelines, he was startled and surprised when a tiny little Aurora dragon nudged him.
His life changed from then on.
They passed Weyrlinghood fairly easily, and were assigned to a Wing. Now, R'nar trains with his Wing and does the best he can to keep out of politics. He's aware of the Silverlight Conflict and the Extremists, but tries to stay out of it. As for the Weyrwomen… Well, he'll just let that play out as it does. Que sera sera, after all.

Male
Dragon's Age:
Twelve Turns
Dragon's Color:
Aurora

#9400D3
Dragon's Appearance:
Faroreth’s base is a nice, even blue. On his tail, the darker greens of his color create vertical short stripe-like blurs running from the tip of his tail all the way to the base. These same vertical blurs are on all four of his legs, starting at his toes and stopping were his limbs meet his body. His wings are edged with purple, though his wings seem to be circled or outlined in purple, as the color does not ever appear on the top of underside of his wings, only on the edges.
Faroreth's muzzle is solid pink, with three blurs running horizontal down his neck, one on each side, and one on the front. From his muzzle to the base of his tail runs a purple dorsal stripe. The one marking that is not a line, however, is a triangle-like blur on the very center of his chest.
As for build, Faroreth is built as one might expect. He's thirty feet long. Slightly less bulky than a brown, Faroreth is muscular, yet lithe. He has a distinctly feminine look to his as well, which he is sensitive about. On the ground, he looks slightly odd, due to his long legs, tail, and wings, but in the air he looks nothing less than nimble, swift, and agile.
The Aurora moves gracefully in the air, and maintains most of his smooth movement on the ground, though he looks significantly less elegant on the ground than in the air. Despite this, Faroreth maintains a look of nothing less than pleasing and tasteful no matter whether he is in the air or on the ground.
Dragon's Personality:
First of all, Faroreth is proud.
Despite his pride, the Aurora is not gossip-y at all, nor is he flirtatious. In fact, he actually lacks most of the qualities of a typical proud, young Aurora dragon.
Some, like R’nar, would call Faroreth wise. The Aurora thinks before he acts, always shows better judgement than his rider, and generally possesses a kind of scholarly knowledge that can usually be sifted through to find some sort of answer to any problem R’nar might have. The Aurora also has the ability to discern and judge properly as to what is true or right in the way of morals… to his morals, anyway, but generally his answers ring true with most others.
Faroreth is also discreet. He is modestly unobtrusive, unlike his rider, and is generally good at keeping secrets. In regard to privacy or things of delicate natures, he is rather judicious.
Despite being considerate and discreet, the Aurora has a fierce side. His fierceness carries over into the protection of his rider, and all things of an innocent nature, such as babies or small children. He also has a powerful desire to uphold the "law" and if anyone disagrees with his interpretation, he has the tendency to get rather snappy and irate. Without law and order, the world would descend into chaos and madness… and Faroreth just won't stand for that.
Dragon's History:
Faroreth knew nothing until he knew R'nar. He grew steadily, passed Weyrlinghood easily, and was assigned to a wing. He sticks close to R'nar, knowing His will cause trouble if he doesn't.
