3076.06.12|Very, very late (or early )
Summer was a season that was lovely, unless one was trying to spy on a band of outlaws without getting caught. The problem was simple. The sun never set.
This rock allows us plenty of cover. They do not have the right angle of view to spot me, and without me, you could simply be an imperfection of the rock.
Of course, Slinesteth was right about the chances of their being detected, particularly since B’rek was going to be under the impression that T’vax and a couple others had gone to visit RMW. Indeed, the other two had gone there, and were still there, meaning all T’vax and Slinesteth had to focus on was not giving their location away to Upsenth.
Stilling his mind, T’vax returned to counting the people below. There didn’t seem to be many, which was good. On the other hand, they were all young adult males who moved like fighters, definitely not so good.
T’vaxMine, they seem to be carrying pouches of herbs with them, far more than I think they would need for healing, even if they heal their enemies too.
T’vax snorted. Neither he nor Slinesteth thought that very likely. I wonder…
What?
I wonder if that might be the herbs they used to stop Dav and me from contacting dragons.
Slinesteth didn’t respond, except for a sudden burst of fear-disgust-anxiety-love. However, he gave no other sign that he wished his rider’s plan was different.
We need a sample of that stuff, T’vax commented, almost idly it could be, if the determination was pared away. Raising a hand, he gently coaxed Tyavra and Ninarwa forward. Focusing on the bags, he quickly gave them the best instructions he could manage.
Now, Slinesteth, to provide the diversion. There was nothing in that voice now, nothing but the ice that surrounded them, and Slinesteth exalted, that his rider planned for battle, at long last.
