She couldn't help it. The smile that traced its way across her features when she looked at him. There's was a special relationship she thought. Very special indeed. She still remembered weyrlinghood... how hard it had been. But then again, it hadn't been that long...
That day, she had received her knots, graduated and rushed down with one thing in mind - she was finally going to kiss K'tar. Outright kiss him! After all this time. All these Turns. She could finally be with him - truly be with him after so much waiting. So much sweet, but horrible torture. He had been by her side, protected her and she would never forget it. He had rescued her from captors - he had been there with her in the clinic at the Aerie. She remembered rushing straight to K'tar and throwing herself into his arms, her lips finding his clumsily, hungrily, and immediately. She didn't even care if anyone had seen...
Now, months later, they had been together. They lived in her weyr together with their dragons. She smiled. She was already sure that when Valhauth flew, it would be Viarth that caught her. She found her cheeks to be blushing as she looked at K'tar, but she didn't look away, still musing. There was no reason. It was K'tar. She studied his face quietly. "It still feels like a dream coming true..." she said softly to him, knowing he wouldn't know what she was referring to exactly.

By Weyr policy, K’tar had his own weyr. He was hardly ever in it though, unless he had night-watches or something that meant he’d have to be moving around and making noise. Most of his personal possessions were in Chantrea’s weyr (which they’d selected by unspoken consent, since it was larger and better positioned than his), although he did keep a few outfits and a single set of bedding in his weyr, for those nights when he had duties or… jobs.
K’tar grimaced, briefly, at the thought. He still had no idea what those documents had been, or why those… people… had wanted them. He wanted to believe it had been the last time, but he hoped that every time.
He glanced down at the letter on the desk. All he really took in was the date on it, though. 3076.07.07.
It’s been three days, already. He’d meant to answer the thing sooner, but it wasn’t really that important, and…
“It still feels like a dream coming true...” Chan’s soft voice drifted through the air, catching his wondering thoughts.
“Anything in particular lead to the realization?” he asked dark musings already fading from mind as he leaned back, tipping his head over the back of the chair and smiled into her dark brown eyes. He always dealt with things that way, and Chan was safe, and they were here, together. What more could one ask for, than that?
Chantrea sat up, sending three firelizards into a bit of a tizzy, though they calmed down after a few chirps and chitters, settlign in to the warm place Chan had left on the bed. She walked over to K'tar and kissed his forehead gently. "Just remember... when I finally got to kiss you. That moment... this... it took so long... but finally... finally we have each other." Her voice was jut a whisper as she gently placed kisses along his cheek. "Are you working again tonight?" She didn't want him to. She wanted to keep him right here.
She pulled away a bit to look at him. "It was a lot of turns of waiting... and we've gone through a lot... You've saved me... You're my real-life hero..." she said, resting her forehead against his. "My knight in shining armor." She smiles softly. This was like a Harper's tale in its own way when she looked back on it. She stood next to him, her hands on his shoulders, gently massaging. She wondered what was on his mind. He'd seemed so lost in thought... musing... "What's on your mind tonight, K'tar...?" she asked him softly.
They were together.. they were safe. They were happy. She was very happy.

K’tar’s smile broadened as Chan walked over. Reaching up, he cupped the back of Chantrea’s head with his right hand, shifting slightly so he could kiss her back.
“No, I have tonight completely free,” he answered, kissing her again.
His lips twitched with a smile as she pulled away enough so that they could see more of each other.
"It was a lot of turns of waiting... and we've gone through a lot... You've saved me... You're my real-life hero..." she said, resting her forehead against his. "My knight in shining armor."
“Hardly all that,” K’tar replied, lightly, amused. Such was he always, when the subject drifted to things he wasn’t comfortable with. “It was all for you.”
He took a deep breath and let it slip out, feeling the knots in his shoulders loosen under her hands.
“Tonight?” He let the chair’s front legs return to ground, catching Chan’s hands as he slid up and swung around. “Why don’t you tell me?” he teased, kissing her.
Outside, Viarth shifted, trapping Valhauth’s tail with his own.
Chantrea had to think in that moment on just how much she loved this man. He was good to her. A trouble maker with a jovial personality... But the best man she could ask for. If she were a hold girl, she'd marry him in a heartbeat. Maybe a half of one. She pressed her lips to his again. "Good. I know it's work, but... I rather have you here with me..." She massaged his shoulders, feeling the knots leaving them under her fingers. She smiled.
She grinned. "You must really love me then... To do all that." She gently kneaded the muscles of his shoulders, wanting to help him relax and feel at ease.
However his sudden movement brought a gasp of surprise and then a giggle from her. "About me, hmm...?" She whispered, kissing him in return, gladly standing there in his grasp. She couldn't help the happiness that bubbled up within her.
Valhauth gave what almost sounded like a yelp of surprise before uttering a puring croon as she nuzzled along Viarth'sside, her eyes whirling with emotion. This was her male, her mate. Even if, for whatever reason, she had yet to show signs of rising.

Lips met lips, releasing a torrent of fire. A wildfire ignited, burning away all in its path. Hard to say who guided whom those few quick, staggering steps to fall onto the bed. Walking was complicated, when you were that close together. Answering that letter could wait. There really were far more important things to be doing. Why did the blouse string always try to stay tied?
Viarth shifted, eyes whirling faster, then wrapped around Valhauth, crooning back to her.
Chantrea was lost in him at that moment. Their lips met, they stumbled back and she found herself pulling at his own clothing as insistently as he did her own. She was aware of only one thing and that was K'tar.
Valhauth curled herself more tightly with Viarth. Tonight was going to be long... And good.
