Icosa, mother, Journeywoman healer at Ista Hold

Pets: Snowstorm, White(F) Firelizard & Rain, Grey(F) Firelizard
Appearance:
S'rico is tall, standing about 6'5" and is of slender build. He has well defined muscles, but they aren't overpowering to take from his appearance. He wouldn't want to look too intimidating. His hair is dark brown, laying at a neat, not too long length atop his head. His eyes are the lightest of blues, to which they look almost grey at times. S'rico's skin is tan, darkened from spending much time outdoors with obvious tanlines from his riding gear. Which he's almost always seen wearing, very few see him out of that particular garb. In the off chance that one would find him out of his riding gear, you could see him in a light colored tunic and more than likely riding pants, or a normal slack. His skin is far from perfect, holding some scars from firelizards he's tried to train in the past. The bulk of the thin white scars lay on his forearms and hands. Except for one that lays across the bridge of his nose from a particularly rowdy firelizard who was shell-bent on biting his nose off. The mans hands are rough and calloused, which began whilst he was harvesting herbs from the fields and around his home Hold. The callouses stayed and matured in his years of riding.
Personality: S'rico tends to be an introvert, quiet and reserved. He's quite adept at devising strategies and keeping his cool in a pinch. He's known to be hot-headed at times. S'rico is about the only one who can keep his dragon in check, well other than a Queen, of course. He is loyal, and will go out of his way to do something for someone he cares for. He'll often keep quiet if the matters are something he doesn't want to get involved with. He treats everyone quite the same, you will get a single chance to make your first impression, and he'll take it and run with it. Friend or foe, equal chances for all. S'rico has the upmost respect for those riders who are above him, and doesn't use his dragons color as a rank to prove he's better than someone.
He's quiet, but is able to keep a conversation going if it's just one-on-one. In a larger group setting, he prefers to hang back and keep to himself, but will speak if spoken to or asked an opinion. Or in the chance that Aldith has an opinion, he will express it also. S'rico is fairly easygoing, but can be fiercely competitive at times. He follows rules, and respects those who do, and does not take lightly to those who do not abide by them. He'll be the first to let the young'uns know if they're breaking rules, whether they know it or not. And you bet he'll report it to your Candidate Master or Weyrling Master, respectively. Higher ranks and those who teach deserve the upmost respect in his eyes, and he'll see to them getting it.
Quite often he can be found practicing ground combat skills, or testing new flying maneuvers with Aldith. S'rico's perseverance is admirable, and he takes pride in his work. He'll take up whatever task is given to him and sees to it that it's done to the best of his abilities. He's loyal to his Weyr and to his Weyrwoman, and tries not to sport conflicting loyalties between Rilora and Myrona, the Weyrwoman of Ista.
In the last few turns, Rekkora being around S'rico has led him out of his shell just enough that he's not a total and complete recluse anymore. He tries to be social when possible, albeit it's a little awkward at times. But you've got to give the man credit, because he does try.
History:
Born Sarico to a pair of healers in Ista hold. He was always quite energetic, but liked the quiet, and to keep to himself. He often helpf his parents with minor injuries that came in. Scrapes, small cuts, the things small children needed tended to. He learned quickly, but he wanted to do more. He had drive to help people, and what better way to prove so than to learn the healer trade.
At five turns old, he went out with some friends, exploring the foliage around the Hold proper. They were overseen by an apprentice Caver, who was just fourteen turns old at the time, he'd been told by his mother to watch over them. They excitedly explored the herb field, not noticing that they'd indeed gone too far, and they didn't notice the edge of the threadfall until it was too late. All of the boys thought the'd made it safely under cover in time, hiding within a small stone cavern that was not too far off the field. Sadly there was a single boy who was not fast enough, an a single silvery strand of thread grazed his arm as he ran inside the stone cavern. It seemed one was all it took, they were found by riders..but not before it was too late. The boy had perished, and the rest of the group was left horrified..
It wasn't long after that, one of his mother's friends had a firelizard who'd clutched a mighty fine lot of eggs. And Sarico was lucky enough to impress to one of them, a little white darling who he named Snowstorm. The five-turn-old boy was incredibly excited to have a 'lizard to call his own.
Sarico was just nine turns old when he parents were requested to Ista Weyr to help with the wounded in the last Threadfall. Of course he went with them, he'd learned much in the last four turns and hoped to be of some help. Particularly after he'd seen all too young what thread could do to someone. That was when the boy saw dragons up close for the very first time, as well as meeting the Dragon Healer..and he knew right then, at just nine turns, that's what he aspired to be. He wanted to help the beautiful, majestic beasts of the skies in any way that he could. His parents later decided to stay at the Weyr for a few Turns, and at tweleve, Sarico became an apprentice Dragon Healer.
When the lad turned thirteen, he was offered a chance to become a Candidate, to which he agreed excitedly. He stood for his first clutch just after his fourteenth turn day, but like many went unimpressed for many turns. Just when he thought his luck had run out, and it was impossible to impress, his day came on his ninteenth turnday..He wasn't sure he'd impress this time. He didn't see what the sense was, he wasn't any luckier now than he was these last five turns..but he tired of always being one of the ones left standing. Anxious as ever to impress, as the years of candidacy were coming to a close, all too quickly for Sarico's liking. He wasn't sure if he'd be satisfied with just healing dragons after he'd gotten so close to becoming a rider.
Humming.. The hatching! As he quickly slipped into his new robe, a bit longer for his tall frame, he sprinted for the hatching sands, following suit of the rest of the candidates. His heart was racing, his mind was a blur at this point. All he could think of was eggs..dragons..impressing..this could be one of his last chances. He had to make it a god one. He sighed heavily, trying to clear the lump in his throat.
As the eggs rattled and shook, one by one the dragonets hatched. Four had come and gone and then an audible gasp was heard from the stands. A bronze..with crimson wings? He was absolutely beautiful! Then Sarico felt a strange tug in the back of his mind, unlike any he'd felt before when being bespoke by a dragon. He stepped forward, and that single step put him just enough infront of the other candidates..just enough from the bronze-crimson dragonet to notice him. And then their eyes met, and in that instant, everyone else, everything else disappeared.
S'ricomine, you are perfect.
He'd done it! He'd impressed, and to a lovely, perfect dragonet at that. Aldith was his name, he was perfect. S'rico was almost dumbfounded that he'd gotten so lucky. He supposed that all the time he'd spent waiting was well worth it. He'd expected Snowstorm to be jealous, but instead she was quite curious of the strangely colored dragon..and they quickly became the best of friends.
Around his twenty-second turnday, S'rico became a Journeyman Dragonhealer. He was elated. He was then allowed to take on cases of his own..but he often returned to his mentor's side when he was confronted with a problem for the first time. With thread no longer falling, most of the injuries that came to him were minor injuries to Weyrling dragons, or the occasional flight wounds on King beasts.
After she'd heard of troubles at other Weyrs, the Werywoman of Ista, Myrona, decided to send a small group of her own Wingriders to Rainbow Mists. S'rico was one of them, of course. However, many at Ista believed she sent S'rico and Aldith to RMW to make sure the strange colors of his beloved Aldith didn't set itself into the next generations of hatchlings at Ista. And so the pair went boldly to Rainbow Mists to start life anew, ready to face their new life head on.
Since arriving at Rainbow Mists two turns ago, S'rico has seen many a strange colored dragonet born to the Weyr, leading him to believe Aldith isn't so weird after all. Though many people in other Weyrs may think so. He's befriended an Abyss rider, Rekkora. Her drive matches his and he looks forward to her company and ideas. He came quickly to her aide after finding out what foul and vile things were being said about her and Sunvoiath. He vowed that he'd be sure she and Sunny were safe To keep a watchful eye over the pair. He silently and vigilantly keeps his ever watchful eye on the pair. Just in case. He's aided in protecting the Weyr itself from thieves and fires alike. Though he simply cannot understand why anyone would look to harm the Weyr. Rainbow Mists has become a beautiful home for he and Aldith and he is bound and determined to help in the efforts to keep their magnificent home safe and beautiful. He's also impressed a grey firelizard!
3079 Month 1 ----
It's been more than a few turns now since S'rico had made his way to RMW, he's settled in quite nicely. He's been busy with the Weyr Wars going on but aside from this he is happily settled in for the long haul.

Dragon's Name: Aldith
Dragon’s Gender: Male
Dragon's Age: 10
Dragon's Color: Bronze-Crimson {B8860B}-{CC0000}
Dragon's Appearance:
Aldith's body is as bronze as one could be. Fading from light around his muzzle and face, darker throughout his body until the tip of his tail. The tip of his tail is crimson, matching the lower half of the membranes in his wings. Aldith's wings start off bronze at the bone and claw, fading to crimson somewhere in the middle. His front claws seem to be dipped in crimson, while just one tip of his rear claws are graced with the reddish-hue. He has some minor scares on his side where his hide was burned during Weyrling Lessons. Due to another weyrlings carelessness and haphazardly waving the flamer about. His wings remain undamaged, and the bulk of the scarring is on his tail. He sits at a healthy 38 feet long, and is one of the larger king dragons. Which is something Aldith takes much pride in.

Dragon's Personality:
He has some problems keeping his cool during flights, typical traits of the Crimson that graces his bronze hide. He loves strategy, and is highly strategic, unable to be overly cool due to his crimson nature. He prefers to talk to only his S'rico, especially when he's irritated. But he's known to be a little flirty, and will swoon over particular ladies and grace them with his attentions. His tail often swishes as most crimsons do when he's angered, but the bronzes level head keeps him from lashing out. Aldith's crimson side makes him a good bit easier to aggravatethan a normal bronze, but the bronze keeps the crimson in check.
Dragon's History:
Aldith Hatched in the 3068th Turn, on the 25th day of the 2nd month. Which so happened to be S'rico's turn day, and a very lovely and memorable day for them both.
He almost got into quite a few fights as a Weyrling, both verbal and physical, before he was able to keep his Crimson temper in check. He was often sulking because he never said what he really wanted to. The Bronze in him wouldn't let him say anything to the other dragons, or the other people. Few have ever heard him speak before.
Aldith, often due to his crimson attitude almost got into a few good fights in Weyrlinghood. Both verbal, and physical. He eventually learned how to keep his attitude in check, and how to keep his big mouth shut. He was often sulking because he bit his tongue and never said what he truly was thinking. The bronze in him wouldn't let him speak ill of the other dragons, or people. Few have heard him speak, but it's not as rare as it once used to be. In his age he's learned to control a good deal of his crimson temper.

Dawnlight had graced the Weyr with it's glowing glory and S'rico was up and at-em early as usual. He had drills to practice, he had muscles to tone..but most of all he had a mug of klah in his hand he needed to drink first. Aldith snorted at him, already up as well and flying lazy circles around the Weyrbowl as he waited for his rider to finish his morning drink.
Aye, I know. You're so sharding impatient. S'rico teased as he glanced up to the larger bronze-crimson dragon now barrel-rolling to the left, then to the right. He walked back to his riding leathers which laid on the ground where he'd placed them before briskly walking to the kitchens to grab his klah.
Stir crazy, not so much impatient. I'm ready to soar, and to stretch my wings. After this they'll need a good oil. The bronze-crimson responded to his rider as he circled further down into the Weyrbowl before making a neat, tight landing, stirring up some dust beside S'rico. We'll get going then. The male downed the rest of his klah and placed the mug on the ground, he'd retrieve it later. No one was up yet to check on the whereabouts of stray klah mugs in the first place. He harnessed his great beast with ease, years of experience making what was quite the task look simple. Once strapped and ready for take off, S'rico and Aldith took off into the skies. The bronze-crimson behemoth but a speck in the skies as he flew gracefully. He made size look like it mattered not. He flew with such power, grace and ease that many wondered how he did it. But the answer to that was merely hard work. Dedication. S'rico pulled the riding straps to the side, and Aldith dipped into a barrel roll.
S'rico glanced back over his shoulder at the Weyr as they flew. It was surely a beautiful sight to see, the dawns gracing the Weyr in ways the mid-day light could not. Peaceful and quiet as most slept, not yet stirring with the early morning light. Aldith flew lower, the bronze-crimson made their way over the waters edge. He was low enough to dip his claws into the water, causing mists to spray up behind them, sparkling and shimmering wildly in the ever-growing dawnlight. He curled his claws before he sped up, taking back off into the skies.
A beautiful day was upon them, they'd make the most of it. Indeed they would. S'rico never happier in all his turns. He gratefullypatted his bond on the shoulder as they flew back to the Weyrbowl.
