Seize the day, that's what his mom used to always say in the morning when he was being a sleepy brat and wouldn't get up. He was, of course, a lot younger, and his mother, of course, isn't around now, but that didn't stop him from repeating that in his head as he awoke and could barely move. It had been a couple days since his childhood friend and himself had begun their romantic side of the relationship, and he still wasn't used to waking right up next to the girl, but now he was glad he could.
Reaching over, he grasped Andrilla and tugged her in up against his chest, mumbling incoherently as he buried his sleepy face in her tangled hair. Something about klah-flavored pies?
Sunristh was, of course, already up and about. The black hardly ever slept, it seemed like, though in reality he simply preferred to space out his sleep schedule throughout the entire day. The dragon touched his Rider's mind when he realized he was awake, letting him know that he was on the way to feed and not to bother him. A'kai accepted that as well as he could, and instead decided to yawn loudly into Andi's ear.
"Good morning, bedhead," he stated, giving her ear a small nip with his teeth before he let her go and rolled over, sitting up. He reached over the edge of the bed for a shirt, and, finding one, put it on and got up. Luckily he still had his undershorts on, because it was cold this morning and he immediately regretted getting up so hastily.
"Andi, get up, today's th' day we gotta oil the dragons," A'kai said, batting at her foot playfully. "Ya know what that means..." Work. The best part about being a dragon rider... Not. But he knew he'd be pulling more weight than her before the day was done, now that she had so much power over him. By that, he of course meant he would likely be hauling the most oil pots from the caverns, loading the dragons was always a tedious task when they required practically gallons of oil.
