In an alternate timeline of Pern, Landing has been discovered, AIVAS uncovered, however protocols and strict prohibitions concerning knowledge levels and gaining entry to such things kept Pern from formulating and carrying out the end of Thread. No information concerning the Yokohama, the Bahrain, and the Buenos Aires is available to the inhabitants of Pern, and Thread is not ending in the immidiate future. Five turns after AIVAS had begun functioning once again, and Pern is thriving under the information that had slowly been taught and dispersed out into the lands.
Thread is still falling, and the people of Pern continue to work and progress. However, Eastern Weyr (to be known later as Monaco Bay Weyr during a canon timeline), has found a unique way of keeping themselves thriving in this world, and it isn't looked on too favorably by the rest of Pern.
