A sound rang over the Bowl, and an Aurora appeared from between. She was a familiar sight for some of them. For others, they gawked at the first Aurora they'd ever seen. The young woman on its back was strapped in, and in her arms she held a small child. The Aurora slowly landed, and a girl ran over with her hands out. Yuki handed the child to the girl, then unstrapped herself from her dragon and slid to the ground herself. She took the girl back, and the child laughed as the Gold-Silver flit landed on Yuki's shoulder.
"Gwace!" said the girl, smiling.
"It's Grace, Yura," Yuki corrected gently.
"Yes mommy," Yura said.
Yuki put her free hand on Ayleneth's hide. Thank you, my friend. Our weyr should still be here, you should go and wait for me there.
Ayleneth tapped Yuki with her nose before flaring her wings again and soaring up to one of the ledges, crawling inside to the weyr that they had called theirs for a good while.
"Bye-bye Ayweneff!" Yura said, waving with one hand.
"We're home now my little one," Yuki said, smiling softly. It was nice to be here, even though the last memory she'd had was being told that her son hadn't actually survived the betweening incident a month before his birth. But... This place was more home to her now than Ice Stone, even if her brother was at Ice Stone Weyr with his Brown. And, maybe she'd get to see D'gan again, and show him how their daughter had grown.
"Mommy, can we go see daddy now?" Yura asked.
"Not yet, sweetie. First we have to go back to Ayleneth and take her riding straps off," she explained. She didn't actually expect a three-Turn-old baby to understand, but Yura nodded anyway.
"Okay mommy."
